[Q] How to keep the phone from unlocking itself?

I carry my One X in my pocket with its screen towards my leg, so that the screen is protected when I bump into something. The disadvantage of this is that I accidentally unlock the phone by accident a lot of times.
I could configure a the phone to ask for a PIN-code before unlocking, but under the numpad there is a button for making emergency calls and I don't want to 'pocket-call' 911 so I need another solution.
Anyone here who has a great suggestion? Would it be possible to remove the emergency call button? Or do you know of any other solutions to prevent the phone from unlocking itself?
Thanks in advance!
You could try face unlock

How does this happen..? The screen needs to turn on and the ring needs to be dragged.. what in your pocket drags the ring?

I use draw pattern, very simple and quick,

The screen should only unlock with your finger, I believe it works off the heat from your finger. But I've just used my t-shirt with finger inside to unlock so as its a thin material I guess the heat from finger tip is getting through. I guess the op could be wearing thin pants and the heat from his leg/thigh is unlocking it.
Maybe using a case where the power button is covered and so harder to depress is an answer.

I had the same problem with my old phone. Though I can't imagine how the power button on the HOX can be pressed by accident...
You could try using another lockscreen. With widgetlocker for example, it is harder to unlock the screen (if you disable widget actions). That could be a possible solution.
The WidgetLocker is the best choice foe your Problem

I've actually called 911 twice with my HOX. I use a pattern, but I guess it slides the ring and hits the emergency called. Luckily I've known the dispatchers both times it has happened. Would be great if you could disable that feature.
quite simply put, a. buy deasent trousers or b. put the phone in your pocket with the unlock button at the top then it wont get pressed.
If your asking this on a forum you really shouldnt be allowed a phone. Try smoke signals.
I can sympathise with you, this used to happen with my HTC Desire a lot. It usually happened after I'd had a text message or something similar. I use the patterncode for my phone to help protect against accidental unlocks however as you say, hitting emergency call is all too easy to do (in the uk it's worse because our emergency number is 999).
What I could suggest for you, as well as using a pin/face/pattern unlock screen, is also to place the phone in a sock or pouch of some sort to increase the layer of material between the phone and your skin. That should help too, as well as trying several of the lockscreen apps out there.
Pouch
I agree I have a pouch and of cource this prevents your phone from unlocking. It also prevents much more damage, of cource you don't always need to use it but personally I try to as I have dropped my phone onto the stone floor in my kitchen, and not a scratch!
That fools that say it's impossible.... It happened to me many many times... but last two was bad...
My phone somehow reached pincode imput and made 3 mistakes in my pocked this locked my card and was waiting for puk code which i don't know and don't have... after that i was charged 2$ or more for creating new puk code so i can unlock my sim... When i unlocked my wallpaper and home screens were changed and deleted... So DONT USE PIN CODE for screen unlock on Htc One X because you will block your sim... Draw pattern is the perfect screen unlock...
I am Android Native Applications an Games Developer so i used many devices and this is the only one that m ade this to me....

Solution for stylus sensor problem
After some searching I finally found a solution. It appears that the cover with magnetic attach will effect BADLY at stylus sensor & sensitivity. If anyone encounter with the same problem. Check ur cover if it's a magnetic then change it.

If it is kept cuz I already bought it and in fact it keeps the mobile well secured , will it decrease the screen sensitivity in the future ????

No but when the magnet is present it'll mess with the detection of the stylus.

Soo now let me tell you how s pen actually works .
It's touches only when its nib is pressed by a force .if the nib is not pressed it simply means it is in air view mode .just observe it deeply.
Now you can use your spen for touching screen withought actually touching it yes..u read right . You can say it AIRTOUCH .
So to use airtouch feature just press the nib of your spen with finger or by sticking tape. On it just press the nib and keep it pressed and use it on the screen keeping ur pen in air u'll be suprised for sure.. its only for note2 and series ..

Accidental Unlock all the time

Does it bother anyone else that the phone unlock so easily in their pockets?
I wish there is a to slide to unlock or turn up the unlock sensitivity without using a pass code or pattern.
Umm. There is a swipe to unlock.

I have never accidentally unlocked my phone, ever.
I think he means that the power button is easily touched with a big phone in the pocket, and also cotton from the inner pocket can unlock the touchscreen. It annoyed me also. But I now use a cheap thin plastic cover from ebay and that helps me with accidental touch of power button and protects my phone for damage at the same time.

Issue with fingerprint scanner

Hi,
I am using fingerprint to lock my device. The device was on the desk when my palm accidentally brushed the sensor and the device unlocked. I thought this was a one time issue but I am able to recreate the scenario with any finger or palm. I even asked my friend to test it out and it unlocked. All it required was just tapping the sensor and lifting immediately.
This is really concerning. Is anyone else having the same issue?
I am on stock ROM and unlocked bootloader.

i just tested mine .. its working good.. ! maybe try registering Fingerprints again !!
Registering the fingerprints again did not work. But a factory reset sure did. Hoping to not face this again.
