Hi,
Im trying to flash European RUU on an At&t Htc One X from the USA. Of course
RUU_Endeavor_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.14.401.31_R_Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_302015_signed
RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.17.401.2_Radio_2.1204.135.20_release_274900_signed
cant flash since the different region, so i need to change the firmware version to mach the .401 region, is that correct?
Device is S-Off

My plan was to flash different region firmware(401), following THIS GUIDE, using one of THESE firmwares.
My concern is, that somebody told me skipping version will result in perma brick, and in the upper folder there are just 3.x and above versions, while my current is 1.68, so i`ll be skipping the 2.xx and possibly damage it.
Is the whole process correct, and where do i find 2.xx firmware to flash in between?
You're in wrong forum mate. This forum belongs to Htc One X International(codename: Endeavour)..Your codename is Evita. You need go to Htc One XL forum.

so i decided to try to root my htc one x and now im stuck at the bootloader screen, and when try to get to the recovery screen, it shows the htc logo and red text under it saying for distibution only... i have tried many of the xda developers guides, but sadly none have worked for me, i have came to a conclusion that i need to restore to a stock rom with a correct ruu, but i still havent find the correct one, my radio thing is 1.1204.162.29, my cid is htc y13.
please help
you have to supply more data to be able to help you.
the first thing is that you have to do to know your RUU HOX Original is in your folder of android in the C: directory
typing this:
c:/android/fastboot getvar version-main or
c:/android/fastboot getvar all
and look what kind of version you have...

Problem Solved.
Hi. So I went back to stock a few days ago in the hopes of fixing a dead zone in the middle of my screen(found out it was a hardware issue after some digging in the forums)and the only backup I found for my One X came with Android 4.0.4 and the old Sense. Everything works fine, except the fact that I can neither install custom ROMs nor receive OTAs to at least get Sense 5. I tried installing both M9 and M7 versions of CM11 (was running M7 perfectly fine before i needed to revert to stock), however the installation aborts in both cases. I got the nandroid backup from the original thread on the forums(CID is HTC__032). Would really appreciate if someone could help me out.

Just flash the latest Lollipop RUU for your phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/general/htc-one-m8-european-signed-ruu-0p6bimg-t2911563
Edit, sorry I just noticed someone else suggested that too, however, if your getting problems flashing it, if you are s-on you will need to re-lock your bootloader first, and you may also need to use the htc_fastboot.exe to flash it rather than standard fastboot: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934550031

Used the htc_fastboot and it worked like a charm
Thanks for all the support.
Hello, I seem to have run into the very common issue of having mismatched firmware and ROM. Could anyone point me to a firmware.zip suitable for Marshmallow (ideally I'd be able to use Android Revolution HD 50.2) that my device is compatible with?

You have two options ... the hard way and the easy way
The hard way
Read this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860
Restore 1.60.708.2 backup and its matching stock recovery
then do multiple OTAs up to 4.18.708.12
You'll have the latest lollipop firmware that is compatible with any MM custom ROM
The easy way
As you're not going to stick to stock ROM, you can flash directly a MM firmware.
For you (assuming you're in Asia region), you can install Marshmallow FW 6.13.709.4
Here are the firmware that I modded for SkyDragon MM ROM, they are usable for any MM based Sense ROM
