So I have an M8. I did an update to an xposed module, rebooted and haven't been able to boot back into the phone. If I hold down power, it vibrates once but the screen stays black. If I hold down power and volume up, I get the white HTC splash screen, but then it turns off. Holding down does nothing. I can't get into recovery, but I do have TWRP installed.
Any hints/helps?
If Looney Tunes has ever taught us something in our childhood about how to fix something, I suggest whack it with a spanner.
In all seriousness, if you still have warranty, just give it in to be repaired.

The problem is the white HTC bootscreen says that it doesn't have an authorized version of HTC software, so I assume they won't take it back in the store...right?
What does it do when you hold power and volume down what xposed module did you update

I have recently installed a new ROM and then used a mod which doesn't seem to be compatible as now the phone is stuck in a loop. When the phone turns on, it comes up with the HTC-Quietly Brilliant screen then continues to the HTC One (with beats audio at the bottom) screen. It won't move past this. I have tried to get into recovery using the vol down+power button but it just repeats the above. I don't think there was a huge amount of battery (maybe around 40%) which I have read can be a problem.
What can I do to get the phone to boot? I currently have the phone on charge on the HTC One screen in an attempt to get it to work as I cannot do it when turned off however if I take the cable out, the red light stays on making me think it isn't actually charging. Any advice you guys can give would be great. I think if I can get into CWM I'll be ok

press the volume down + power for 10 secs, and keep them pressed while it reboots untill you get to the hboot menu
Thanks. I was trying to do that but obviously let go before the 10 seconds. It did it once earlier on but couldn't replicate it. Many thanks-phone is now ok again

Try holding down volume down, then while holding it down, hold down the power button for 7 seconds until it turns off, it should then restart into hboot. I had to do it twice in a row to make it work.

I updated my phone to jellybean yesterday i am with tmobile uk , the phone worked fine after this everything seemed to install ok.
until a hour ago, i got a phone call answered it, then hung up, i put my phone in my pocket, next time i took it out the phone was locked on the boot page the white screen with htc logo on, i tried to power it off and the the 3 buttons on the bottom of phone started to flash white for 10 seconds then phone swithed off. the phone wont turn back on, it wont charge, tried usb to computer no lights nothing. the phone was fully charged when it switched off. my phones a standard one never touched bootloader etc
i spoke to htc they think its software problem, they say when i downloaded jellybean i used 3g not wifi (my fault) this could have caused the problem as there could of been a drop in signal they tell me.
the problem i have they want 210 pound to fix and they say its not under warranty as i have had the screen replaced, but not by htc voiding the warranty.
Can anyone here give me some advice or help to fix my phone please.

Can you enter the bootloader by holding the power button and the volume - button together, keep them pressed until it enters the bootloader.

i just tried holding power button and up vol key for 30 secs, it vibrates and the white screen comes on with htc quietly brilliant on it, but its frozen on that.
tried it again and it booted up to my home screen then shutt down now its stuck on the white htc one screen with the beataudio logo at the bottom. the charger light now comes on when charging the phone any advice please.

My friend gave me his s2 to see if I can fix it.. The symptoms suggest the power button is stuck. But it can be pressed and it releases and can be pressed again, so it is not stuck as in jammed.
The battery is removed, and when the battery is replaced, the phone immediately tries to turn on. It vibrates and goes to the Samsung logo, then the screen goes black and continues to vibrate every 2-3 seconds.
I managed to get it to go to the boot anim a few times, but it froze and restarted. I also got it into recovery but it immediately restarted after that as well.
My only other thought is that the CPU isn't drawing enough power from the battery. What do you guys think?

It says it will work if it is stuck and not defective. Does stuck literally mean it is stuck in the housing and cant be pressed?

another thing i read some where on here is its sometimes actually not the power button itself but the ribbon itself to the power button that connects to the mother board sometimes becomes loose....try wiggling make sure its securely in there just worth a shot im sure anything helps right now

However after trying to install a custom ROM on my phone, I got these white lines to where I couldn't see my screen. I found a fix for it and tried to conquer that myself as well. As I proceeded to flash a jdi kernel onto my G2 to get rid of the white lines and lack of display, I got an error and put myself into a boot problem. When I turn my phone on, I get a secure booting error everytime and my screen goes black. I have tried countless times to use the hard reset feature but I cannot get the it to come up with pressing with volume down and power buttons. I can't get into download mode either. My screen goes black within seconds and just sits there. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP IN ANY WAY POSSIBLE.

Greetings, here's what I did, I booted my phone into download mode by pressing and holding the volume up button, and quickly plugging the usb cable into my phone(make sure it's connected to the computer), wait until the device is charged at 100%(you will know it's fully charged when you see something like this "B100", turn off your phone and hold the power button and volume down button at the same time until you see the LG Logo, once you've seen the LG Logo, QUICKLY press and hold the power button and the volume down button at the same time adain, and you should boot into recovery mode.[emoji4]
If you made a backup of your previous Rom, you can now restore it.[emoji106]

I was charging my phone, and opened an app. All of the sudden my phone freezes, I see the swirling att logo and it goes to the htc screen. Been like this for two hours. I can't hard or soft reset it, it won't turn off. Please help.? The red led light is on, I was charging it but unplugged and it's still on
Hold the power button+ volume up+ volume down for about 10 seconds

if all else fails you can try to reflash the phone with an official RUU.
