Hey guys I was wondering if anyone has experience this and if you have a solution. I recently rooted my tablet and I am still running stock rom. Also, when I first ran SuperSU it prompted to allow it to remove KNOX, which I did. Today I went to try to use Hword but it only opens a white screen for 2 seconds then closes down, same thing happens with Hshow and Hcell. The updater works fine. I tried clearing data, uninstalling and re-installing to no avail. Any ideas?

Hi guys I rooted my desire using the live cd method, powered up my phone before installing a2sd and I could see all of my download history on the market with access to all apps. After this I booted into recovery using step2 on the live cd and installed A2SD. When I turned the phone on again all of the download history was gone and I can't see apps like Google Earth, National Rail etc.
I thought I did something wrong so I wiped the device and installed the rooted rom update again with a2sd at the same time. The problem still exists and nothing has changed.
Could you please help me because this is very annoying and I cant set up my phone the I want until this is resolved.
Very strange... Use Market enabler > http://market-enabler.googlecode.com/files/MarketEnabler_latest.html
install, apply new settings and reboot, problem solved
Thanks for the suggestion but the market enabler doesn't solve it, I tried it.
Another strange thing that I found is I have an .apk of CoPilot which I was using before rooting and when I tried installing it now it gives me an error "Application not installed".
I still haven't solved this problem and its really bugging me.
I un-rooted my phone and used a different google account with no luck. I still don't see some applications in the market.
Just to let you know I am in the UK using a generic sim free desire on 3 network. Could you please, please, please help me out. I am running out of options and I thought unrooting would fix it.
Weird issue you are describing. As far as I know it depends on the fingerprint of the build.prop in the ROM (and if Google added it to the white list(?)) or not.
Many people are using the rooted ROM (all the same build.prop) and they can access protected apps just fine. So probably the problem lies elsewhere.
I have a similar problem, before I rooted my device I could see all apps I bought in my g1 days. After I rooted first of all none showed up, after a day or so only a few showed up... rebooted a few more times (only ever flashed once using Windows with apps2sd) now I have a few I had before show up not all just a few and thats how its been since. weird. I had half results :/

Same problem here with one single application.
Had SlideIT paid version installed on stock firmware.
Once i rooted it gave me the message "application not installed" once i tried to install it.
Funny enough the SlideIT lite version is still able to install fine.
Definitely want it to work again, so i hope someone knows how to fix it
I tried a couple of different ROMs today and had this same problem, clicking My Downloads would just show a blank screen, and there was no "Top Paid Apps" tab. I tried unrooting, rerooting, nothing fixed it, until I found this;
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Android+Market/thread?tid=1ea082d443f3d16c&hl=en
Pushing that xml file (note the spelling mistake before you do it) fixed it all back up, no idea what caused it to get all messed up and why it wasn't fixed by wiping and reflashing.

I tried to push the file via adb shell in windows and got permission denied. Am I doing it right or do I need to root the phone again to be able to push that file because I have reverted back to the generic stock rom?
Mine was rooted when I pushed it, try re-rooting it and pushing it again I guess.
I finally got around to re-rooting it and tried your solution with pushing that file but no change to my market
Just to be clear I can see the Top Paid apps tab, but I cant access copy protected apps like Google Earth.
Hello, i searched in other threads to solve my problem but I didn't find an appropriate and successful answer. First of all, I am running Cm7 on my Kindle Fire and I installed Gapps with TWRP. So, few days ago the market started to show me an error when I tried to update or install apps; it says: package file is invalid. I found some solutions, like clearing the dalvik cache or installing a new market apk, ecc. But all of these solutions are only temporary.. The problem always returns! Cab someone try to help me? I apologize for my bad English and for maybe the stupid question, I'm a noob about the android world. thanks a lot
No one?? Maybe is a noob question?
allready tried to go to applications - select market - clear cache - clear date - force close - then start market again ?
if this don't help:

I Tried both, and the problem still there. But now, maybe i found the problem. I'm in Italy, and for some apps and service i use a service that changes the DNS and lets you use static IP. In fact, when i disable static IP I'm able to download and update apps with no error. I'm not sure that the problem was this, since i always use this service with Cm7 and there was no problem in the past. I think that the problem maybe is related with dalvik cache. What you think?

I tried your suggestion re disabling the static IP and it fixed the recent problem I've been having with this "Package file is invalid" error message on my HP Touchpad. FYI I am running CM7 with XRON mod installed. Thanks very much for sharing your solution. Hopefully its fixed for good !
You're welcome! but it's quite weird, because a few days ago I was able to download apps from the market also with static IP. And I can't understand why now this is no longer possible!
When i face similar issue i follow this method,
Clear cache, Clear data, clear updates in market app and download agent. If not solve then perform factory reset. If those methods not fix, then i reinstalled your OS. now it should fix. But always try to download apps over 3G or WiFi connection. This kind of issue occur continuous download failure.
A factory reset is something that I want to avoid I tried the first method in the past and it was not completely successful. Well, in any case it's a weird thing

Thank you thank you thank you!!! This has been plaguing me for a few weeks and driving my NUTS. At my girlfriends, work and parents using wifi I had no problems, neither with 3G. But at home I had "invalid package" all the time lately. By removing the static IP it now works. Very strange because I've had the same IP on my home network for months!
But it works now thanks to your suggestion.
You're welcome! yeah, it's so strange! I don't understand what problem is under this issue!
You can reinstall your OS. Then every file replace no issue.
I tried this in my early tests without success! I think that the problem is related with my DNS service, thanks for your reply Anyway now it seems that the Market runs with no problem also with static IP activated.
How to change Ip?
Hi! I have the same issue for weeks, how do I change the DNS? Is in the router preferences? Thanks
Same problem, tried everything!
I've been having the same problem for about 2 months with my HTC Desire, and it is driving me nuts! I'm running the latest CM7, CWM, and Sibere data2SD. I've already tried clearing cache and removing data, removed market updates, and this only worked once (in about 100 times i've had the error). Reflashing CM7 works fine as long as I don't restore apps and settings with TiBackup, after which I have the same problem upon trying to install an app. Everything over 500 kb just fails, on 3G networks and on various wifi-networks, to no avail.
I have also tried the Titanium backup market helper, but it just sits there, 'processing' for hours but doing nothing. Also tried clearing the dalvik cache twice in CWM, but it only resulted in the phone hanging at the white HTC startup screen, so I had to reflash CM7.
So, does anyone have another tip I could try to get this thing to work? Because I am getting desperate and the number of available updates just keeps on growing...

The android market just gives me that striped animation anytime I try downloading an app. Have tried clearing the market cache, google framework service cache nothing seems to work! Just the new EU firmware OTA and rooted and removed the bloat apps and downloaded script manager from the market without any problems. Then tried to download a busybox app...thats when the market just stuck on the stripped animation and its been that way with everything else I've tried from the market incuding updates to my apps. Please any help guys??

Done a restart ?
If it does not help: Because you are rooted, you should be able to delete the Android Market. You can get the AndroidMarket.apk from the net and reinstall it(Unknown Sources have to be checked). But before doing something fancy, you should do a BACKUP, with CWM or RZR.

Yeah several restarts. Just got an update, it appears the youtube app also gets stuck with the rotating circle...cant load the video. Cant help but assume these are related. And also I've tried this on both wifi and 3G, same.

This is strange indeed. If even the solution above doesn't help, I would recommend you to flash you ROM via ODIN. Usually it should replace the missing files, so this could work. Do a Backup as mentioned above.
BTW: But generally your internet works? (via Browser)

Yes my internet works fine. I actually cant do anything requiring a usb cable since I lost mine and wont be getting a new one till the weekend maybe. I actually tried some other things like clearing the cache partition in recovery (stock) and logging out of gTalk and relogging in which solved similar problems for people online. Just seems everything is fine...except the market cant connect and download stuff, and youtube cant connect and load videos...I feel its a google account problem surely but dont have a clue what to do. Thanks for your response all the same.
First......Ensure SD Card is properly seated, open phone and make sure of this!!!
Do these :
Settings/Applications/Manage
Applications/All/
Downloads/Clear Data.
Media Storage/Clear Data....

I cant quite explain what happened, but I fixed it. It had to do with a botched backup/uninstall of google books with TB. I tried to back it up but it seemed to just hang up. Then I killed TB in the Task Manager and restarted it. I realised a backup had been made for the older version(1.46) instead of the new version(1.52). Google Books showed up as a system app after my last FW upgrade and I updated it (through the market) but the update made the app unusable(FC everytime I start it). I ignored all that at the time since I didnt use it actually. Tried to remove it yesterday and I guess that set this whole mess in motion. Thanks to all
I keep getting "Unfortunately, the process android.process.media has stopped" over and over and over. This happens no matter what I am doing and first thing when I reboot the phone.
I also keep getting Unfortunately Play Store has Stopped.
Every time I start the Play Store I get on of those 2 errors so I can't launch the Play store at all.
Phone has been fine for weeks and then all of sudden this started today. No new app, it just came out of nowhere.
I have 2 HTC One V's both are running CM9. Both were set up weeks ago and both were done exactly the same way. Mine is fine, the wife's is having that issue.
I have tried disabling sync. Removing and re-adding my account. Clearing the cache. Fixing permissions. Removing a few apps. Some other minor things I don't recall. Nothing helps.
Any ideas?
Re install the Rom,or do a factory reset...but its better to reflash the Rom
It'll fix the errors I guess

Thank you for your help , however I was hoping there was a solution short of doing a full wipe. Is there nothing else I can try?
And more importantly what caused this and what is to stop it from coming back after a wipe? I don't want to go through all that just to have to do it again next week.
...Ok, well I have re-installed the OS and then re-installed/set up all my apps and settings.
So far so good. Hopefully the issue won't come back.

Hi,
since abut 3 or 4 weeks I've more and more problems with my Z2. I'm on stock 8.0.0, not branded, pure Moto. One of my problems is, that Play Store updates get downloaded but then do not install. When I reboot my phone the app update which got previously downloaded installs and the the process got stuck again. Some time suddenly two or tree apps get updated. The the problem starts over. I've tried every thing I've found e.g. clearing Play caches etc. nothing helped.
Edit: a closer look showed that the download hangs at the last few bytes but some times it downloads to 100% but just does not install.
Any suggestions?
TIA

Try stopping the play services and store app, clear data and cache, then try again. If that doesn't see if the issue is with wifi or data, switch one or the other off then try updating or installing an app, see if the problem is connection specific. You can also try clearing the phone cache from storage as well. I know these are trivial suggestions, but it never hurts to double check. Might clear your storage cache and check the permissions as well.

Thanks. Tried all this already. May be it's liked to my WiFi problem as it seems to be "better" now. If the problem persists I think I will try to factory reset it ...
