Okay, needless to say i've scoured the internet for the past few days. (And for future reference this is my mistake for somehow misplacing my original backups.....)
Device:HTC ONE M8 (Unlocked) 0__44 Unlocked Boot/S-ON
I have the latest twrp installed and bounce in between that and philz.
While searching I made my way to the Backup/Recoveries thread for the M8 and picked up a 707.4 backup and tried to install the .zip via twrp sideload and/or push /sdcard/ and everytime I get an MD5 error "No md5 file found.

x.xx.707.4 from the Collection of Stock backups thread? What software version are you running because I see your bootloader version is still 3.16 which is 1.54.707.x and you're trying to download 2.22.707.4 ?
If I'm wrong however and you are on 2.22.xxx.x then redownload the file and try again, if it still complains about md5 checksum, tick the box that "enforces" it in order to disable a md5 checksum.
Restore, don't flash yes...
I was on 4.4.2
Starting to download the 1.54.707.7

Yeah, I figured as much mate.
Did you try to download the 2.22.707.4 <<<Because that's the only one I see in the Collection of Stock Backup's thread that has a 707.4 on it? If so, why try and restore 2.22.707.4 when you're still on 1.54.707.x
You don't flash the backups either, you restore them through the custom recovery.
Download a ROM(Any ROM applicable to your device) then do the sideloading or push in order to flash the ROM. To get OS back onto your device. Afterwards download the correct 1.54.707.7 backup applicable for your custom recovery(Philz for Philz, TWRP if you're using TWRP). Unpack the backup in the backup directory like instructed on the 2nd post of the Collection thread and then proceed to do the restore.
You can do the OTA updates after the phone was restored and stock recovery was flashed back.

You don't flash the backups either, you restore them through the custom recovery.(So would I'd push the (Insert Rom) to the /sdcard/ and install that, and then and put the 1.54 in the backupdirectory? (Thinking to myself here))

Yes, just make sure that you unpack/unzip the backup that you downloaded and place it in the correct backup directory. The backup directories I included in my previous post. I linked to post 2 in Collection thread.
Restore - NOT factory reset. When you go into custom recovery, let's say "TWRP" you'll notice that you have the option to "Restore"

Just press on Restore, go to directory where you unpacked/unzipped backup(For TWRP of course if you used TWRP one) and then restore the backup.

extract the boot.img from the ROM.zip that you downloaded, connect phone to PC. Go to adb folder, place boot.img in adb folder, open command prompt there and flash boot.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Edit: Sorry I'm taking a while to respond. I'm at work now and can only reply when I get an opening.

You did restore stock backup yes? You shouldn't have the ROM(Viper for example) on there anymore. Just the stock android system. Flash stock recovery and then reboot it should give you only the OTA for the android system.
I Installed Viper 1.7.1 and after I booted the OS I moved the 1.54.707.7 restore I downloaded from the backups thread to /twrps/backups and went into recovery to restore from said backup. However after the restore I still have viper >.>
Okay, I was restoring from a viper backup. However, when I place my unpacked stock backup into my twrp/backups folder it does not see it in the restore option.

You need the folder with your serial number in there as well.
/sdcard/TWRP/BACKUPS/<serialnumber for your device>/folder you have in picture with backups in it.
Else if you want a faster way just go into TWRP recovery, make a backup of just boot and it'll automatically create the folder path for you. Then you just place the unpacked folder in the "serialnumberfolder" and continue to restore.
Okay, figured out so far. Thanks for your help.:good:

I used Windows to do custom recovery via all-in-one toolkit and it says it was successful and even had the android at the bottom of the screen on the skateboard.
I choose recovery and it comes to the white HTC screen and a disclaimer and then goes to a black screen and nothing....
I have S-Off and Temproot from Weaksauce..should I just root with the toolkit?
Help.

Did you check the md5 on your Viper download? Did you do a wipe before you installed? Did you make a backup before you wiped? You'll probably want to do some more research before you really break your phone.
You'll want to grab your RUU from Santods stock Rom thread. The command you're typing is wrong. It's "fastboot flash zip Rom.zip". There's no oem in that command and your RUU has to be named Rom.zip. follow the instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475216
If you're already locked and s-on you won't be able to do anything...You'll have to gain s-off again.

You're supposed to lock first, RUU and then s-on to return to stock but if you just need to run an RUU, you don't have to lock or anything. You should be able to use weaksauce and firewater to get s-off again, I think. What info is showing on your boot loader?

I would just run weaksauce and then use firewater to get s-off since you can't do anything without the that anyway. From there you can fastboot flash a recovery and then adb sideload a rom. It's probably not in your best interest to keep trying different things. It doesn't matter what RUU you ran because it didn't successfully flash...otherwise you would be able to boot up. Good luck trying whatever you do, though.

I bet your main is NOT officially 1.54.401 or 2.22.401 your phone displays that because it reads the custom rom you are running. That so called "stock rom" is not the correct stock rom for every device ! Read the OP of that thread, perform the fastboot commands and compare the main version number !
Is the main version number blank you start looking for the CID in that list !
And what do you mean with "can't install stock recovery" flash it like any other recovery. They are all img files !
Installing means I flashed it. But not working. Doesn't enter into recovery when flashed with stock.

What do you see when you enter the stock recovery ? And this info comes from an app....i want the outcome of the fastboot commands
This stuff also reads your custom rom !
The HTC screen stays on. Noting more. No "entering recovery" text either. . then have to press vol up+ power to reboot.

Edited my post above. I want to see the fastboot getvar all outcome first. And delete the imei and serial in the picture before you upload it here !

See the problem. Your cid is not the wwe cid and definitely NOT based on 1.54.401 or 2.22.401 ......
Check your CID online (Google) and see if it comes up with a main version number ! That's what you need. As i recall i don't have that cid in my collection.
Didn't you create a stock backup yourself ? Or s-off the device with SUNSHINE.

I wrote restore (not install) but you tried to install instead of restore. That is where you are wrong.
See this how to restore but use the file that I linked above 3.32.707.9 not those in the guide

Thank so much. It works now but there is an issue that Wi-fi keeps being off when i try to turn it on in Settings.
Any idea for this?
Thanks,
Not sure if this got to do with your version-baseband: 1.19.21331147A1.09G
If not yet updated to 4.19.707.2 ... try a version lower to restore :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55076383&postcount=1728
then do OTA to 3.32.707.9 and later OTA to 4.19.707.2
Can you post your current fastboot getvar all (minus serial no. & imei no.)
Also please edit your post #1 to remove serial no. & imei no.
Or .. if you like to use RUU to directly update your version to 4.19.707.2,
you can get RUU_M8_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_hTC_Asia_WWE_4.19.707.2_R adio_1.25.21331147A1.06G_20.69.4196.01_F_release_4 14204_signed.exe from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56140330&postcount=1
BUT for this RUU, you need to backup all your internal storage to your PC or anywhere that you like because the RUU will wipe everything in your phone.
And to run this RUU, you need to relock bootloader.
1. relock bootloader - fastboot oem lock
2. run RUU (right click the file and select run as administrator)

Your version-baseband show that the firmware was not updated. I believe you don't do what I mentioned in the guide that linked for you.
If it is correctly updated, the version-baseband should read 1.25.21331147A1.06G
You blank version-main also show that firmware was not updated correctly and you may not use the suggested TWRP version. Don't use that outdated TWRP 2.7.0.2
You need to this all over again. Updating directly to 4.19.707.2 with TWRP backup is not correct way.
1. Install TWRP 2.8.1.0 - http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m8
command fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.8.1.0-m8.img
2. Download TWRP backup 3.32.707.9 - https://mega.co.nz/#!wZhxRBjR!kNX7nA-4aLaw-vW15pfr6uXpH2dKa6RC2ZXk3w4NSuw
3. Download stock 3.32.707.9 recovery - http://sourceforge.net/projects/htconem8/files/Recovery/3.32.707.9_recovery.img/download
4. Extract the downloaded 3.32.707.9_ckpv5.zip on PC
5. Boot to TWRP recovery and make a backup of boot only, this is to see where the backup goes on your device.
6. Reboot, connect device to PC then open Internal Storage, TWRP/BACKUPS/SerialNo./
7. Transfer the extracted 3.32.707.9 folder (not 3.32.707.9_ckpv5 folder) and its content to the backup path on your device
TWRP/BACKUPS/SerialNo./3.32.707.9
8. Reboot to TWRP, wipe your device - in TWRP go to wipe - advance - select dalvik cache, cache, data, system (only these)
9. Restore the transferred backup - make sure all boot, data & system are ticked - swipe to restore
10. In reboot menu select bootloader
11. fastboot flash stock recovery that you downloaded - command fastboot flash recovery 3.32.707.9_recovery.img
12. reboot - check for OTA, download, install
13. your device should be updated to 4.19.707.2
14. done
If you want to flash TWRP again, use the latest TWRP 2.8.5.0 after OTA 4.19.707.2
Thank for that,
but my phone keeps restarting therefore i can't access internal storage. I gotta enter bootloader mode by pushing power button and Volume down button to stop it restarting.
What can i do for now?
Thanks,
Press & hold both volume up and power button. When the screen goes off, release both buttons and quickly press & hold volume down button. This will take you to hboot. Press power once, you'll be in bootloader screen.
Fastboot flash the TWRP 2.8.1.0. Boot to recovery, select mount, enable mtp.
You should be able to transfer files to Internal Storage when in recovery.

I got a warning "Its file size is larger than the device limit" when copy the folder 3.32.707.9. It is so ridiculous because my internal storage is 6 GB free and the folder size is just 2.2 GB.
Should i try another TWRP version?

Nothing's wrong with that version but something is odd with your version-baseband which is more like a 3.18.0000 version
Try to restore this 2.22.707.4 version and see whether your wi-fi is working
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55076383&postcount=1728
if yes .. follow all the steps to do OTA .. you'll have 2 OTAs

I have no idea why you still have Wifi problem after successfully updated to 4.19.707.2
Everything in getvar look fine.
The only suggestion that I have is make sure you still have stock recovery image installed. Reboot to hboot and select recovery, select wipe data/factory reset .. see whether this helps.
Thank so much!!!
Wi-Fi works properly for now.
You have been very helpful. Appreciate for your helps
Thanks again
Hi everyone,
So my HTC one M8 was rooted with TWRP recovery. It was running Android 5.0 I think. I got an OTA update but I was not able to update it because of TWRP. I wanted the update so bad and I searched on Youtube to know how to update the software. I found a video and I followed these steps.
1 - Replace custom recovery with stock recovery
2 - Process OTA Update
3 - Replace stock recovery with custom recovery
However, when I replaced the custom recovery with the stock recovery, I downloaded the OTA update and updated it. But after the update completed, the device never booted up. It shows the HTC logo then it goes black! (The screen is still on, but black!) Have I bricked the phone? How Can I fix it please!
PS. Here is the video I watched www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPPT5J8xG6w

That video is nonsense. There is a blatant mistake at 6.44 and the knob doesn't see it. You need to go back to stock first, then take the OTA.

Okay, before I see your respond I did a stupid thing! I flashed TWRP and I wanted to flash stock ROM and I followed these instructions from this website

Luckily you have a WWE device. Download this RUU and run it from Windows. Make sure you have HTC drivers installed. The easy way to do that is to install HTC Sync and then uninstall it. The HTC drivers will be left behind. That will take you to stock 4.16.401.10. You will then receive the update to 13.

I owe you my life man! Thanks for responding quickly. Anyway, Should I unlock the bootloader then run the .exe file?

No, the bootloader needs to be relocked/locked for the RUU.exe to work. It should work from fastboot mode. If it doesn't, I'll be on again tomorrow.
Einwod said:
Luckily you have a WWE device. Download this RUU and run it from Windows. Make sure you have HTC drivers installed. The easy way to do that is to install HTC Sync and then uninstall it. The HTC drivers will be left behind. That will take you to stock 4.16.401.10. You will then receive the update to 13.

You are telling that you are stuck at boot logo so how you knew that your device got wiped ?
2nd thing we should not make OTA update after rooting and installing Custom recovery.
Looks like you make a mess while describing the problem can you be quite detailed on the problem.
Is wiped your problem ? or stuck at boot logo ? okey if wiped then what type of wipe is that Storage wiped or fully OS wiped ?
Also thing i would like to let you know is while you UNLOCK bootlodder your internal storage gets wiped completely

Just go to supersu app and to it's setting check there for FULL unroot click it! Reboot your device.
Some apps and kernal may bring supersu back so before you do this make sure you remove those root apps first.
