I used Windows to do custom recovery via all-in-one toolkit and it says it was successful and even had the android at the bottom of the screen on the skateboard.
I choose recovery and it comes to the white HTC screen and a disclaimer and then goes to a black screen and nothing....
I have S-Off and Temproot from Weaksauce..should I just root with the toolkit?
Help.

OK as of right now, I have S-Off and Unlocked and rooted with TWRP Recovery. I just tried to install ViperOne and it's stuck in a bootloop at the HTC Screen.
Any suggestions or...?

Did you check the md5 on your Viper download? Did you do a wipe before you installed? Did you make a backup before you wiped? You'll probably want to do some more research before you really break your phone.
You'll want to grab your RUU from Santods stock Rom thread. The command you're typing is wrong. It's "fastboot flash zip Rom.zip". There's no oem in that command and your RUU has to be named Rom.zip. follow the instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475216
If you're already locked and s-on you won't be able to do anything...You'll have to gain s-off again.

thank you for that little bit of info but i am locked and have s-on because I saw something say you needed it to restore stock, but from what you are telling me is that i'm S**t out of luck? I can boot fastboot and thats about it, recovery is not working and when I try to boot, it goes past the HTC screen and goes straight into bootloader.

You're supposed to lock first, RUU and then s-on to return to stock but if you just need to run an RUU, you don't have to lock or anything. You should be able to use weaksauce and firewater to get s-off again, I think. What info is showing on your boot loader?

I would just run weaksauce and then use firewater to get s-off since you can't do anything without the that anyway. From there you can fastboot flash a recovery and then adb sideload a rom. It's probably not in your best interest to keep trying different things. It doesn't matter what RUU you ran because it didn't successfully flash...otherwise you would be able to boot up. Good luck trying whatever you do, though.

I bet your main is NOT officially 1.54.401 or 2.22.401 your phone displays that because it reads the custom rom you are running. That so called "stock rom" is not the correct stock rom for every device ! Read the OP of that thread, perform the fastboot commands and compare the main version number !
Is the main version number blank you start looking for the CID in that list !
And what do you mean with "can't install stock recovery" flash it like any other recovery. They are all img files !
Installing means I flashed it. But not working. Doesn't enter into recovery when flashed with stock.

What do you see when you enter the stock recovery ? And this info comes from an app....i want the outcome of the fastboot commands
This stuff also reads your custom rom !
The HTC screen stays on. Noting more. No "entering recovery" text either. . then have to press vol up+ power to reboot.

Edited my post above. I want to see the fastboot getvar all outcome first. And delete the imei and serial in the picture before you upload it here !

See the problem. Your cid is not the wwe cid and definitely NOT based on 1.54.401 or 2.22.401 ......
Check your CID online (Google) and see if it comes up with a main version number ! That's what you need. As i recall i don't have that cid in my collection.
Didn't you create a stock backup yourself ? Or s-off the device with SUNSHINE.

Not sure which firmware to flash
Hi,
Currently I have a At&T HTC One M8 with the following
Android Version 4.4.3
Rom Version 2.22.401.5
Software Number Android revolution HD 11.1
I wanted to flash the newest ARHD found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2694917
But I saw a few comments saying the WiFi doesn't work unless you have the newest firmware which is 3.28.401.6
So I went to the HTC One M8 firmware collection thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696282
My Phone is S-Off and the CID is the SuperCID 11111111, but when I ran the command "fastboot getvar all" the version-main: was blank as shown below

What Rom are you trying to boot into? 4.4.3 or 4.4.4?
You should be able to boot to bootloader. Hold power then immediately volume up and downat same time. When phone powers off release the volume up button and it should boot to boot loader.

*enters recovery*
I'm running TWRP v2.7.0.0 as any newer versions couldn't load due to hboot (required 3.18/3.19). When trying to adb sideload (to restore to a stock WWE-Asia, 4.16.401.10_stock_system_dumb.zip (no clue what system dump is btw)) stops at while loading to 100%. Nothing ensues. Trying to restore a nandroid is noway achievable as a external USB is not recognised. ( file is a zip file. ). An RUU.exe is also out of the question as I only have Macs. Finally, impossible to load anything else as only cache can be mounted. Always getting the error /cache , /system , /data not found. Really need help pl0x.
Boot into fastboot and post the output of fastboot getvar all (but leave out the IMEI and serial number)
We can go from there

Going by your CID, this is the right RUU
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B17smFr95pleZnVPZ2xGemhjY3M/view
To flash it:
1. Relock your bootloader - fastboot oem lock
2. Download the RUU (obviously)
3. Run it as Administrator
4. Connect the phone in fastboot mode
5. Follow the instructions
It should go through fine and once finished you'll be on Lollipop

so are you aware of any other means of bringing my phone back
I'm downloading it now so I can extract the ZIP file, gimme a few minutes...
EDIT: OK, this should work but you'll need a microSD card...
1. Download this file - https://www.hightail.com/download/UlRSZGlxeFg5eFY3czhUQw (md5: 1CEC06D4CFF763DF30642F17D4C39103)
2. Rename it 0P6BIMG.zip (not 0P6BIMG.zip.zip!)
3. Put it into the root of the microSD card
4. Boot the phone into HBOOT
5. It should read the card and ask if you want to update. Use power to select 'Yes'
6. Allow update to finish
Once finished it should reboot and be back to Lollipop

it flashes immediately after booting but however stops when it is parsing. still stuck at 'HTC' boot logo
You'll see a bar go up on the right hand side of the screen when it's loading the ZIP and then it'll just start flashing once you select 'Yes'. Once finished, it'll say done and it might sit at the HTC screen for a bit whilst it builds the cache so just give it time...

Make sure your bootloader is relocked because you have S-On device.
Same as flashing firmware.zip, you need to do it twice because you're updating firmware too, not only ROM
Press & hold both power button & volume up button, when it goes blank quickly release both buttons and press & hold volume down button. This will take you to hboot and repeat the flashing procedure again.
The RUU doesn't need it twice (OP has a Mac so is doing it via SD card). It reboots the phone automatically when required. It's only when flashing manually in RUU mode do you have to do i twice (unless you're using htc_fastboot in which case it waits for the reboot and carries on without your input )

when i load it into hboot it says,
SD checking...
No gift file...
Loading... [0P6BDIAG.zip]
No image!
Loading... [0P6BIDAG.nbh]
No image or wrong image!
Loading... [0P6BIMG.zip]
after the blue bar at the top right loads, 'flashing zip file' appears and below the rest of the previous messages in green 'signature checking' appears. Finally after the green bar at the top right loads it says 'Parsing...' and then it goes straight back to the hboot menu. No yes/no prompt...

RUU yes ... ROM.zip maybe because I read that somewhere before ... something about flashing in RUU mode VS the sdcard method
To see whether this is needed or not, OP needs to see what's written on hboot
The OS read something like 1.57.707.7 (4.19.707.2) or blank (4.19.707.2) usually in red color, then needs a repeat of procedure.
You need to relock bootloader before continue with the procedure. Your screenshot still show "UNLOCKED" not "RELOCKED"
fastboot oem lock
If you're not compatible doing this ... let us know, you also can use a nandroid backup & its stock recovery but you need to do multiple OTA updates and no need to relock bootloader

Other than switching to a ROM that still has that menu item, I doubt it. It seems HTC decided to remove it.

Its definitely been modified, to be s-off and SuperCID (1111111).
Also, its the Verizon variant. So unless you are actually connected to the Verizon US network, you won't get any OTA updates.
But you can try this RUU: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24438995911975645
Run on a PC (Win7 and USB 2.0 for best compatibility) with phone connected in bootloader-fastboot mode.

Do fastboot getvar all, and post the results (delete IMEI and serial number before posting). The reasons for no update, and the solutions are varied and dependent on your particular variant (CID, MID, etc.).
Hi everyone,
So my HTC one M8 was rooted with TWRP recovery. It was running Android 5.0 I think. I got an OTA update but I was not able to update it because of TWRP. I wanted the update so bad and I searched on Youtube to know how to update the software. I found a video and I followed these steps.
1 - Replace custom recovery with stock recovery
2 - Process OTA Update
3 - Replace stock recovery with custom recovery
However, when I replaced the custom recovery with the stock recovery, I downloaded the OTA update and updated it. But after the update completed, the device never booted up. It shows the HTC logo then it goes black! (The screen is still on, but black!) Have I bricked the phone? How Can I fix it please!
PS. Here is the video I watched www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPPT5J8xG6w

That video is nonsense. There is a blatant mistake at 6.44 and the knob doesn't see it. You need to go back to stock first, then take the OTA.

Okay, before I see your respond I did a stupid thing! I flashed TWRP and I wanted to flash stock ROM and I followed these instructions from this website
http://www.carbontesla.com/2015/01/htc-one-m8-4-16-401-10-stock-lollipop-ruu-0p6bimg/
But when I want to flash the rom its says "target reported max download size of 1826414592 bytes error: cannot load 'L50RUU.zip'"
Anyway, now my device is " Relocked" and when I type fastboot getvar I get this>>>>

Luckily you have a WWE device. Download this RUU and run it from Windows. Make sure you have HTC drivers installed. The easy way to do that is to install HTC Sync and then uninstall it. The HTC drivers will be left behind. That will take you to stock 4.16.401.10. You will then receive the update to 13.

No, the bootloader needs to be relocked/locked for the RUU.exe to work. It should work from fastboot mode. If it doesn't, I'll be on again tomorrow.
