My screen has wobbled since I bought it, but unfortunately I didn't have the common sense to get it replaced during the 30 day trial period. It's been getting worse, to the point that it wobbles even with the keyboard out, and when tapping the screen it makes a clicking sound as it hits the back part of the phone.
Has anyone developed a fix for this? I am not averted to opening the phone up if it's not super difficult.
Nobody has tried to fix it and if you take a look at the slide mechanism you'll see why, there is no way to tighten it.

I had this issue on two of the first Epics within the first 30 days. It was disappointing how they could have those issues on such a large number of phones. I didn't come across any solution while looking for one. If you can get it replaced somehow, and get one that doesn't wobble, try for that.

I took mine to the sprint store and I watched the tech disassemble my whole phone. He tried to tighten the mechanism but it didn't help at all. So I started talking to him about the problems I've been having about not being able to update my PRL or profile and the poor battery life I've been having since updating to EC05 and ended up ordering a replacement. It will be a refurb but I decided to roll the dice and hope that I get a phone that isn't as bad as my phone when it comes to screen wobble. Drives me crazy when I have the phone closed and it teeters like an unstable table when I'm using the touch screen.
I bricked my phone 2 days ago and got a new replacement for free and no more wobble
my old one wobbled like crazy which i had since it came out and one of the first people to get it..
So the newer builds definitely have improved sliders
i can confrim this cause all my family has epics and non of theme wobbled like my first phone and they all got them like 4 to 6 months after it came out
my new phone doesnt wobble at all now
my old one did even tho i never dropped it or i was never rough with it
the new one is great
Looks like you got a new refurb one
good luck and hopefully no wobble
Mines woobled out the box. I always bought htc phones and this is my first non htc phone. And let me tell you something. Htc phones wooble more and lcd screen fail all the time. So I didn't get bothered at all by the epics slight wooble.

I did a search and found this thread instead of starting a new one happy..
Anyways has anyone found a fix for this yet? i got mine yesterday and its a bit wobbly.
I gave up on trying to get replacements. The one I have now has a wobble but hasn't gotten any worse than the day I opened it.
I don't use cases, but I tried one at the store and it actually stopped the wobble. Get a case as a workaround?

Within a couple of months my screen would wobble from front-to-back when open. It hasn't gotten any worse and I've had my Epic since a week after release here in the U.S. I honestly wouldn't worry about it too much, especially since there's not much you can do about tightening it.
I heard if you get a new epic that will fix your problem.
I must have gotten lucky. I've never had wobble problems and even after dropping it multiple times without a case it is still perfect : )

I've had this phone for a little over three days now. Overall, I absolutely love it. The only smartphones I've ever owned were the Evo lines, so this was a big leap for me, and I'm not sorry. However, there are a few issues with it.
First is a strange antenna issue. I have the Sprint version of the Optimus G, updated and rooted. When the network mode is set to LTE/CDMA, the 3G antenna will only turn on very rarely, leaving me entirely without internet access. I was about to return in when I realized that the issue is solved when I change it to CDMA only. We don't have LTE in my area, so I don't mind leaving my LTE antenna off. I'm not sure if it's an issue with my phone alone, or if it's a software issue that others have.
Then there's the screen. The screen itself is BEAUTIFUL, and I have no issues with it. But the screen scratches like crazy! I am extremely careful with my phones, and this one in particular. I kinda bought it on impulse, so I didn't have time to order a screen protector for it (one should be in tomorrow though). So I have been treating it with extra, almost paranoid caution. It's only ever been in my pocket while at work (nice khakis, so nothing harsh), and otherwise it's been undisturbed on a table. I check my pocket for any abrasive lint often since there's no screen protector on it. But the screen has developed about a dozen or so scratches, and one of them deep enough to distort the screen when it's on. I don't know how this is happening (the deep one happened in the space of five minutes, inbetween two texts, and was merely put into and removed from my pocket.)
Also, the battery life is kinda crappy. I live near a tower, so always have full signal. At work I'm on wifi, so that's not an issue. The battery scarcely lasts through work, with VERY light usage, and is nearly dead by the time I get home. Today, from the time I woke up with it at 100% to the time I got to work (about 2 hours, with constant near-full signal), the phone dropped from 100% to 76%.
Are these normal issues, or am I the only one experiencing them? I want to love this phone so much, but these seem like serious flaws to me.
I too had to change to CDMA so dont know what is wrong with that. And the scratches is weird ive dropped mine a few times and dropped my keys on the screen and nothing. And my battery is phenomenal. Seems like you have a dud.

In regards to the screen....this may sound like a stupid question and I don't mean to offend, but did you remove the temp screen protector that it comes with? I've not had one issue with my screen being scratched and I can't say I've been all that good to it for the last week.
I've had the phone for a full week now and I have not experienced 3G drops with LTE/CDMA mode enabled. Also haven't scratched it either (thankfully). I constantly put it in and out of my jean pocket throughout the day, so I don't really understand how yours got to be that way.
As far as battery life, I too don't see the issues you're having. Typically I pull it off the charger at around 7AM and can easily get 12 hrs+ with normal usage. Even with Android OS taking up the bulk of my battery (seems to be awake a lot). Lot's of people saying its a battery drain bug, etc. etc. etc...but if I'm getting 12 hrs easily, and 24 hrs with light usage, I don't have a problem with that.
-Screen brightness at 60%
-Wifi on all the time (connected at home and at work - probably helps, lol)
-2 Gmail accounts pushed constantly, Facebook messenger, and a few other apps that auto-update on schedule (news readers n stuff)
-My commutes to and from work - I listen/watch podcasts and/or read. Which means the screen is on the entire time (approx a 1hr commute). All said, my screen-on time sits at around 3 hrs for me.
I'll post some screenshots in a minute...

No scratches or weird battery issues here. My first two days the battery life was horrid. Afterwards I did some update and poof like magic.
Anyone have any info on the boot loader unlock initiative? I miss aosp
got this phone for sprint yesterday after having a BB for 5 years .. and i'm loving the beautiful screen,.
Only hiccups is maybe the battery... Yesteday i had it full on 100% then after 2 hours went down to 80%..
I'm currently in the office charging the phone to 100% will remove it and do normal routine on it and see how long it last.

Haha, I actually checked for this before posting. It is absolutely something I'd do.
After reading these and other comments about the phone, I realized I probably had a dud. I went to the Sprint store a couple days ago and swapped it out for a new one, and it's running beautifully, with none of these issues. So I guess I just got a faulty one. Thanks all for responding!

Good to hear! Sorry, I had to ask...my girlfriend had the same problem with her phone she got a couple months ago and it was because the temporary screen protector was still on the phone!
Anyone finding it gets kinda hot? I've read some owners complaining about this and it was mentioned in some review somewhere. Wondering how widespread it might be. Might be that people keep all 4 cores running 24/7. I don't see the point if you're web surfing, talking, texting. I keep it on Eco Mode most the time.
I've only notice it get warm once or twice, but even then it was barely noticeable. But I've had eco mode on since I got the phone, and it's not hesitated or stuttered once.

We are thinking of switching to Sprint, so we went to Best Buy and picked up one of these phones and I'm very impressed with it so far.
Actually this is the second one because the first one had a factory defect in the chrome around the screen. It get home with the 2nd one and notice there is a speck of dust under the glass.
I'm going to return this one in a day or two and see if the third one is a charm. If not, I'm not getting a forth one!
Any suggestions on a different phone for Sprint if this one doesn't work out? To me the only other phone to get would be the Note 2 and then the GS3.
A little help here guys. I was planning to return mine because of battery problem. Like i tried playing Dead Trigger, current battery is 54%, 30 brightness, sync and data is off. I played for good 5 minutes and it dropped to 48%. One more test is after it got 100% full charged, i unplugged it, Wifi is on still 30% and not using it for a couple of minutes it dropped to 97% and im not even using it!
So i want to return it.
The question is:
Do i have to pay for replacement? I got mine at BestBuy for 99$ almost a month ago.
2nd is will still they accept it now it got scratch on four sides. Any suggestion?

As long as it hasn't been over 30 days and the phone doesn't look "abused" then you should be fine, also if it's been under 30 days i would add geeksquad protection especially if you plan on rooting, i thought it was a bad investment at first, then when talking to a tech after my evo4g bricked he just said to "make sure the device doesn't power on" and they will replace it needless to say i took a ballpeen hammer too it and got a shiny new one 2 days later.
I took the LG back and got the GS3. I've already had to clear the cache on the galaxy because of excessive battery drain.
If the GS3 fails me, I'm gonna try the Note 2.

Yep, on eco mode the battery is outstanding. The phones is faster than my wifes S3 on eco mode, and I get nearly 2 days without charging. I had the note II for a week and that is just as good but was too big for me. This phone impresses me everyday.

So I got my G3 the day after it came out from Best Buy, and I fell in love with it. I didn't set it down for almost 24 hours. However, the next day I began to notice that my phone would get pretty warm from just browsing the Web or using snap chat. Coming from a Samsung GS3 that had no metal at all, I assumed this was normal since the power and volume buttons were made of metal and that is where I felt the phone get the warmest. I searched around to see if anyone else had any heating issues, but the majority of people said their G3 only got hot when gaming for long periods of time. This is when I thought that my phone was just a dud and I needed to get it replaced. On top of the heating issue, it seems that my accelerometer doesn't work anymore. I toggle screen rotation on and off, but my screen does not rotate anymore.
I really love this phone and intend on just exchanging it for a new one, but I was wondering if anyone else was having any of the same problems that I've been having. If not these problems, then maybe others.
My last question is if I go to best buy for an exchange, would I need the person who is the account holder of the family plan to come with me? Or can I just take it to best buy on my own with my receipt and ask for an exchange.
Thank you for reading, and thank you to any users with answers or comments.
Why don't you call Best Buy and ask? BTW Best Buy is usually awesome about no fuss returns as long as you're within the 14 day return policy

When i try to start the watch, it seems to get to the watch face, but when i hit the settings, it seems to shutdown, and the only thing i can do is put back on the cradle. If i leave on the cradle it seems to work fine. What i don't understand is i have two of the same watch one black one silver, and the silver works flawless. I am wondering if i have to clear cache, or how do i collect a log of whats happening. I've tried factory reset. uninstalling aw app, nothing seems to work. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks
I am getting same thing for last couple updates. Don't even use watch anymore Cuz it just shuts off randomly. Tried clearing everything and reinstalling, etc. No luck so far.
Same thing here, but mine shuts down during my run when I listen music off of it, around 75-80% battery, but works fine when I use it normally, without connected Bluetooth headphones
I've been getting random shutdowns for the last few months.
Sometimes I feel like it's triggered by lots of vibrating on the watch, but no correlation to battery level, most of the time it's in the 60% percentage.
I've done a factory reset and deleted and uninstalled and reinstalled android wear on the phone several times, and it always fixes it temporarily...
Sounds epidemic.
How hard was it to get a replacement?
Anybody able to find a fix? TIA
Same problem. At first I figured it was a but that came with an update and would get fixed on the next one. I stopped wearing it for a while. Now, months later, still doing it.
I got the 360 the first day it was available. I'm thinking that I'm probably out of warranty now. Should have placed a complaint when it first happened.
Has anyone found a resolution?

My experience is nearly identical to yours. Bought my Moto 360 on release day, it started having problems about 9 months shutting down. I factory reset, removed apps, eventually upgraded to a different phone, all the problems continued.
When I finally called Moto support, my warranty had expired, but they told me for $100 they'd replace it. I did that and just got my replacement, and I must say it's Awesome. I forgot what it was like to have a smart watch that lasts 18 hours and never shuts down regardless of how much I use it!
So, $100... you can buy a new or refurb Moto 360 for that online, so maybe it's not worth it. It's still a great smart watch IMO though. At this point I feel no need to upgrade to 2nd gen.
For the defects, this appears to be a widespread problem for Moto 360 1st gen. Best of luck to you.
still any solution
Did anyone find solution to this?
I've the same problem. In fact, it won't restart until I put if back in the cradle. On top of that, I no longer get any messaging/email notifications.
Well, about 16 months in to my replacement and it started happening again... OG Moto 360, just like the original. I suppose it's time to upgrade. Still, 16 months for $100 outdated technology smart watch worn every day isn't terrible.
I had the same issue, would randomly shut down and whenever I tried to open an app or settings it would just die. It was the battery, i found a replacement battery on ebay for around $25 replaced it and now it's working as expected.

Wow, seriously?! I just looked, and sure enough the batteries are all over eBay. How difficult was it to replace?
not too hard to replace... Check out the instructions on YouTube... Took me about 15 minutes
Well... Finally I can't hold back.
My phone is now like 2,5 years old, maybe a little bit younger.
A 3/4 year ago a had a problem with my display, it had a non responsive touchscreen on the upper part of the screen, about 1cm.
I send it to htc for warranty, it seemed to be replaced and I belive them, since a few scratches disappeared.
But now I face the same problem again!
And not the first time since the replacement.
Check my sig, there is a post about this problem and a "solution"
Electroshocking the display? Dumb, but it seemed to help.
Since I replaced my battery, I had no problems, but I used some cheap double sided adhesive tape and today I changed it to some t-7000 glue.
No problems at all....
A few minutes later a part of the screen is unresponsive again....
Well... I shock it again, restart the phone, bend it as little/much possible...
Working again.
Somewhere I have read, these problems are maybe pressure related, that's why I bend the phone a little (not much, not even visible)
Well just now, the time I wanted to sleep... I discovered this unresponsive screen part again!
I have no piezo handy, so I just try to press the screen and bend it a little....
Won't work....
Now, with a partial dead touchscreen and no solution that worked before...
The only thing that I can do... Write a rant about this...
Back to the title...
Is the touchscreen htc using for the 10 such a piece of crap? Or why is it failing like this?
It is not like I do brute force on my phone, the first time I experienced this problem, I had done nothing wrong... It just failed Suddenly...
After battery replacement... Okay, I was sad since I really tried to be as cautions as possible, but I was aware I can break my phone.
But it was running!
All these problems are occurring after some amount of time after I did anything hardware related to the phone!
Right now I just watched 2h on YouTube while charging....
And bang, Suddenly the touch is not working completely!
I have never heard of such a behavior before, nor I encountered similar problems with my other phones that I took apart.
I really love the 10... But why is it failing on me like this?
Especially after I got a fresh replacement display?
This is bull****, I really start to belive, the hardware component for the touchscreen of this phone is junk...
I really need to sleep now... Good night...

Is this a question.....post it in the Q&A section......
Edit :
I have mine 2.5 years now, no issues at all. There will always be people with problems and always people without. Consider it luck. That's it, not sure why there should be a whole thread dedicated to the obvious. So either get over it and buy a new phone or sort it with HTC......
Cheers.
Same. Have had my phone since launch and the only problems i had were with battery... and they were software issues so i was able to fix them... with the amount of times my phone has dropped i'm surprised I haven't faced more issues. For me the hardware on this phone is 10/10
Well, wasn't about to star a QA on this topic.
More like a discussion, which was right in the place I posted it. Even the title is a question, it wasn't obvious a normal question I really need a answer about.
@bilibox
I love the hardware too! The phone is awesome, else I wouldn't have changed the battery in the first place.
But even before touching the phone interiors, I had problems with the touchscreen.
I thought it may be a drop damage, since I had a few accidents with it.... But never something really bad, only dropping from like 20cm bed etc.
It survived every time!
My first faulty touchscreen was without any incident at all.
I belive to remember I just charged it over night, last drop was a few weeks ago...
Won't say it can't be the fall it has taken damage by...
But since I got a replacement screen and a few month without any incident the same problems starts to happen, but after changing the battery, I fist thought I damaged something.
But after opening it up again it worked without issue.
Right now I need the electro shock therapy like 3 times a day to have the part of the screen responsive for a while.
Even my phone is not in use, it will fail again....
This failure is soo random and fixable permanently (after I put it back together when it was working, fixing it with double sided tape, it worked) it still fails after gluing the screen in the backcover....
I have orders one last replacement part, the screen incl. Touch and stuff, to have this repaired....
If this won't work... Well... I was recommending htc to everyone who wanted a really good phone with awesome support in case of a damage.
I can't do that anymore, since I have these random problems with only the touch....
Yesterday it brake while watching a few videos on yt....
I really really hope... HOPE!... This is only a hardware issue...
With the new screen I even get some "original" adhesive to put it place... Maybe this will help....
The failure is obviously connected to pressure....
Since I was able to fix this problem by "bending" the phone. (bending... I was trying to bend it, I just pressed the screen and the edges... Really tough phone we have here)
To new readers:
No I don't want a answer on the title question, just tell me about your issues with the hardware of this phone.
The only thing i read all the time is "bending" and "dropping" a fall from 20 inches or even less distance would not hurt the device....yeah of course, from what planet do you come from.
This whole topic/discussion/Q&A is a absolute waste of time.
I'm very sorry for all the inconvenience you've been through with the device but complaining about it here is useless. And after 2.5 years of existence of this device there would be and endless list of topics here at xda about hardware failure if that would be significant. So i would recommend using the existing ones......if you can't find any that would confirm your bad luck.
Get over it.

Read well my friend...
After the warranty repair I haven't dropped the phone at any time.
And well... Instead of nearly 2 years with dropping, the new screen only survived a few month (5-6) without dropping.
The only thing I have done was replacing the battery.
And my repair was easy as f., since the replacement adhesive of the last repair was crap and wasn't really sticky at all.
There was no bending at all while the repair.
The bending was a way to fix the unresponsive parts of the screen as a temporary solution.
I bet, if I pry the screen out again, the touch will work again without problems...
Even if I need more force since my last repair, since I have properly glued the screen in place.
It is not like I don't know what I am doing... Tbh, I have no idea why the shocks work as a temp solution...
But for the rest, I am more in the electronics as in Android itself.
And if the screen fails at these random reasons, there has to be a malfunction with the way of picking up the signal from the touchscreen layer of the screen...
By using deforming force this problem gets better or worse it seems this connection seems way to fragile... I will look into this once my replacement arrives.
