When charging... - Moto 360

When charging should the watch go completely black or stay lit up (dim) showing charging and time. Could of sworn I saw it go completely dark before.

Yes before the new update the screen would go dark. So probably the very first time you charged it out the box. After that update was applied that feature was removed. I would assume in another update it will be back there is a lot of complaint about it.

Yep that's exactly what happened. Had to charge it before the update can go through. Cool thanks again.

Compass calibration

Under settings, Locations & privacy - 'Rotate the phone back and forth in all three axes until the compass image turns green.'
IT. NEVER. EVER. ***** TURNS. GREEN.
HOW LONG AM I SUPPOSED TO BE SAT HERE ****** ****** ROTATING MY PHONE?
I've tried the figure eight technique as well, doesn't make a squat bit of difference.
MOD EDIT: That kind of language isn't tolerated on xda...I'll be leniant with you this time since I've just started modding this forum and I'm a good mood
Same here. It took me like five times until it turned green. Hold it straight up and down, and press calibrate, and slowly flip it around from top to bottom, and then rotate it side to side. You don't actually have to flip it all the way around in a circle. Just about 3/4 the way back and forth. If you go too fast it will turn red. The trick is to go slow and smooth (like when you are with your girl!)

Go on, admit it, you didn't press the button to start the calibration process and were just looking at the demo animation.
It's ok, I did exactly the same thing
Had the same that happen and felt pretty stupid sitting that flipping and rotating a phone for...*ahem*...to long. It seems that once it turns red, there is no going back. Exit, restart, and try again more slowly.
My experience with it is that if it doesn't turn green in the 1st 10 seconds...it ain't gonna.

Ahhh.. The dumb thing says to turn it 'slowly' so I figured I had to be patient with the damn thing. Turns out that what's needed is to flick it around like a spastic for a second or two. Couldn't they SAY SO then instead of lying? <-edit..
And to the rest, while the animation confused me at first I had actually gotten past that stage when I made this thread.
edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sP3d00Hr14o this worked a couple of times earlier today - however, refuses to work now. nothing. i give up on this - I am now etching 'compass' away from the feature list of the phone. It might as well say 'utterly pointless, useless magnet'.

Guilty as charged. I felt very stupid
Yep I was dope as well took me about 10 minutes before I figured it out.
Still pissing me off. I'm just glad the phone is rugged and waterproof.. Not gonna say anything more...
Well, I never had the green icon but my compass is really, really accurate.
Yesterday it thought north was west, today north was south.
I've given up too, always turns red!
Whether i go slow, or fast, i am still unable to get this to show up in green... maybe someone could post movie with working calibration?
Mine went first red and when I just continued it turned to green. So no need to restart when the sign goes red.
Mine has never turned green, but its still pretty accurate.
i just calibrated the compass of my defy and it works now. red means one axis done, two to go. yellow the second axis and when all is done, it turms green. It took ca 45 seconds.

Notification light

Does anybody have a problem with the notification light on their GNEX? LTE model.
Mine turns blue when charging, but when I move the cable it dims some, then it goes back to fully lit, and sometimes its not on at all.
Is my phone jacked up or what, no matter the rom, it does not work normally.
Tell me whats up!
Thanks...
My LED shows no indication that I'm charging. Didn't when I was on stock (4.0.1 and 4.0.2) and doesn't now that I'm on Redemption ROM 1.5.0 (4.0.3 base).

Not that I'm aware of at this time. If you plug it in and just let it sit, will the light come on and stay on? How about if the phone is OFF when you plug it in -- same behavior?

Same, I can wiggle the power cable and the light goes away, or dims, or comes back, its like theres a bad connection. Has anybody else reported this problem?
Something's not righr. If you got it locally, I'd go back and see what they have to say.. If you're running "standard" ROMs then I'd be concerned there's an electrical malfunction or crossed wires so it's not something I'd mess with.

Make sure your phone has enough charge. Connect it to your charger and leave it for a while. Try again after sometime.
I've had similar problems and it was solved by charging. But some people are not so lucky.. A similar problem here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1925430
Are you having the same problems?

led light is on when screen on when charging cm10.2

My busybox install got corrupted and a lot of things got screwed up. So I did a wipe and reflashed cm10.2. Something that got screwy was the led light when charging would stay on even when the screen was on. But after i reflashed it still does it. Of course this is no big deal, I can just turn off the battery led in cm, but I just wanted to know if anyone knew what the issue was. Thank you very much for the help.

Really? Wow I must be going crazy or I never used my phone while it's been plugged in with cm10.2. Is there a way to change it so that the charging led only comes on when the screen is off?
Why would it even work this way? You can clearly see it's charging when the screen is on in the status bar. Also, when you go and change the battery charging led color and you want to test it, it even asks you to turn the screen off. Are you sure?
bump for double check

I'm sure.
There is a setting to disable to charging light entirely. But not for disabling it only when the screen is on.
You'll just have to live with it. If it bothers you that much, make it a darker color that is less obnoxious to your eyes that is easy to see in a dark room with the screen off but not as 'in your face' when the screen is on.

Screen won't turn off, when connected to power...

Just got my H7x Saturday and am blowin away that a phone this nice can be had for under $200usd.
Anyways, Whenever I have the phone connected to the power-cord(charging) the screen won't turn off. I'll wait for the 60sec I have it set to, fade, the screen turns off, and then right back on immediately. Does the same when connected to USB on a windows computer. Charging only, file transfer etc. does it no matter the mode.
Any input with help would be greatly appreciated... Thank you

This setting is normally defaulted to off, but check the development option "stay awake"
No, it's set to off. But good call.
It seems like the screen saver would make it do this too. I just noticed that everytime the screen comes on, it's a different picture. However, settings>display>screen saver is off.
Just figured it out.
Under settings>Apps and notif...>notification and status bar> I had 'notifications turn on screen' turned on. That's what was causing it. Strange...
Can anyone else test for this?

Most users are on roms right now, I suggest you do he same.
And, no need for other people to test for this, you fixed the problem.

I guess I could root and rom. I am just so impressed with the battery on the stock rom I was going to try and keep it as long as I can.
What ROM do you suggest?
And I didn't fix the issue. Just turned it off... Its still an issue for people who want thier screen to turn on when they get notifacations.
Thanks for the help!

Openkirin roms are good, but the support chat in telegram is a bit toxic...
Also, any hi6250 rom will work well, like with the p8 lite 2017; roms there work on the honor 7x too, i've tested.
