[Q]Concert GPE RUU'd M8 back to Stock with Nandroid backup - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello folks,
Simple question:
Does restoring a nandroid backup fix the system partiotion size? Or will it fail because oft the lower size partition?

It fails. A backup does not rewrite the tables.

[Q] Restore Nandroid after Partition

Is it possible to do a restore nandroid after I partitioned?
My original nandroid backup was unpartitioned, and then I partitioned my SD card to install a new rom that required it. Before partitioning it, I made a backup of my SD Card with my nandroid backups.
If I wanted to revert back to the original rom, can I just copy over the original nandroid on my partitioned SD card and restore it?
Yea, the nandroid only restores partitions that were there, so if it wasn't there before, it won't be affected.
So I can restore a nandroid that was not originally on a partitioned SD from a now partitioned SD?

[Q] Restoring nandroid backup on new sd-ext partition

hi, first, i searched but didn't find something that fits this question, so...
what happens if i restore a nandoid backup from a rom with ap2sd+ with a 512 mb sd-ext partition on a new sd card with an sd-ext partition with 2 gb?
Also the old sd-ext partition was etx3 and the new is ext4 formatet, will there be problems or does anyone did this kind of restore?
Or is it worthless and i should flash the whole rom again?
Thanks
Far as i can tdll you shouldnt have problems, all its doing is writing data..
it should work fine
there shouldnt be a problem as long as the rom supports ext4
i suggest backup your current rom
try restoring old rom
if it works - congrats
if not - flash new rom
it'll only take 10 mins of your time
and you get to learn something new
Hell yeah! I restored my nandoid backup of LeeDroid 2.5 Final A2SD+ and all worked fine, no problems, no need to flash again.

I had this once on a different phone and the memory came corrupt.
You can try and backup your SD Card on your PC and then format the card, and copy back the data.
