Is it possible to do a restore nandroid after I partitioned?
My original nandroid backup was unpartitioned, and then I partitioned my SD card to install a new rom that required it. Before partitioning it, I made a backup of my SD Card with my nandroid backups.
If I wanted to revert back to the original rom, can I just copy over the original nandroid on my partitioned SD card and restore it?
Yea, the nandroid only restores partitions that were there, so if it wasn't there before, it won't be affected.
So I can restore a nandroid that was not originally on a partitioned SD from a now partitioned SD?

ok well on my Amon Ra Recovery.
there is an option for nandroid back up and theres another
option about nandroid + ext backup.
i think thats it.
but i have no clue what nandroid +ext backup.
what does ext mean? extension?
whats the extension for?
and there other options are google proprietary files back and restore.
what the heck is that?
please some give me answers.
it is for people have an multiple partitions on their SD card. ext is a type of partition
The ext partition is a linux partition type used by Dark Tremor's a2sd. Basically, if your custom rom supports a2sd, you can extend your apps installation space by creating an ext 2 (can be upgraded to ext 3 and 4) partition on the sd card besides the normal fat32 partition. If you don't have an ext partition, just do a simple nandroid backup. Otherwise do nandroid + ext backup if you do have one.
Does the nandroid backup also backup sdcard.
I am about to format my sd card and I already saved what matters like photos and nandroid backups, but im wondering if anything goes wrong will the nandroid backup fix the problem or do I have to backup to my pc (which sadly doesnt have the space)
Nope, just the phone. If you app2sd then it will back up the ext partition that the apps are on but that about as good as it gets.
You could always back it up to a usb drive or dvd-rw if you have them.
Ok, i've just done flashing Virtuous ROM on my DZ. Want to restore all my apps backups using Titanium Backup....
and to my horror... it restored all my apps on my internal memory!!! I thought Titanium Backup should place it back on where it is? anyway to move it all to the SD card?
Hey guys, just got a question about Nandroid.
If I have apps that I moved to the SD card, will Nandroid backup these data? That is, let's say I did a Nandroid backup, and copied out the cwm folder from SD card. If I now:
- wipe SD
- copy back the cwm folder
- restore backup from cwm
Will I get back my application data and settings for those apps moved to the SD card?
Thanks!
Yes.
10char
Yes. You will see a .android_secure during the process being backupped.
Also if you move using Link2SD, it will backup as sd_ext.
I currently have a htc desire g7 with paranoid android 2.54 and am using int2sd
I want to change from 4gb to 16gb do i just copy the files using windows explorer
You make nandroid backup, back up your old sd-card contents, partition your sd-card the same way your previous was ,restore the nandroid, restore the sd-card contents.

What happens if i want a bigger sd card do I need to have two partitions on my sd card??
No. You simply make a larger, but same type partition.
