[Q] Nandroid Backup - SD Card Apps - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, just got a question about Nandroid.
If I have apps that I moved to the SD card, will Nandroid backup these data? That is, let's say I did a Nandroid backup, and copied out the cwm folder from SD card. If I now:
- wipe SD
- copy back the cwm folder
- restore backup from cwm
Will I get back my application data and settings for those apps moved to the SD card?
Thanks!

Yes.

Yes. You will see a .android_secure during the process being backupped.
Also if you move using Link2SD, it will backup as sd_ext.

[Q] Does nandroid backup sdcard?

Does the nandroid backup also backup sdcard.
I am about to format my sd card and I already saved what matters like photos and nandroid backups, but im wondering if anything goes wrong will the nandroid backup fix the problem or do I have to backup to my pc (which sadly doesnt have the space)
Nope, just the phone. If you app2sd then it will back up the ext partition that the apps are on but that about as good as it gets.
You could always back it up to a usb drive or dvd-rw if you have them.

[Q] Titanium Backup restored to internal memory

Ok, i've just done flashing Virtuous ROM on my DZ. Want to restore all my apps backups using Titanium Backup....
and to my horror... it restored all my apps on my internal memory!!! I thought Titanium Backup should place it back on where it is? anyway to move it all to the SD card?

[Q] Restore Nandroid after Partition

Is it possible to do a restore nandroid after I partitioned?
My original nandroid backup was unpartitioned, and then I partitioned my SD card to install a new rom that required it. Before partitioning it, I made a backup of my SD Card with my nandroid backups.
If I wanted to revert back to the original rom, can I just copy over the original nandroid on my partitioned SD card and restore it?
Yea, the nandroid only restores partitions that were there, so if it wasn't there before, it won't be affected.
So I can restore a nandroid that was not originally on a partitioned SD from a now partitioned SD?

[Q] Can't apps after SD card change :(

Hey y'all
I just purchased a 16GB SD card to replace my 4GB one.
Decided to replace the Tabasco Silky ROM with Sandvold's ICS Beta ROM to compliment the new SD card
ROM working but when I copied the previous SD's data over to new SD, I can't see my apps:crying::crying::crying:
Tried exactly as the other forum user's have suggested (copy old SD card data to PC -> copy data from PC to new SD card) = didn't work
I can see all my photos, music, vids but no apps in apps drawer
I can see the exact copy of my previous SD card on my new SD card in CWM:good:
I tried to restore a nandroid backup from my old SD...but it only restores my previous GB screens/data/apps...I can't see any evidence of the ICS ROM that was loaded
OR
Can any of the xda gurus recommend A solution(s)?
Hi, were your apps on an sd-ext partition? If you are using windows your ext partition of your old card is probably not being recognised. If you download and run a ububtu live cd you will be able to see and copy both partitions of the card. One with the photos/data on the other with the apps.
If you created a nandroid backup of your ICS rom you could just partition your new card and restore but is sounds like you forgot to backup before flashing your new Rom.

Click to collapse
is there any other way to check beside the Ubuntu live cd?

Try this to access ext partitions in Windows. I haven't tried this but it looks like it will work:

If you want to restore apps from one rom to another you should use either titanium backup or mybackup from the market before flashing the new rom (i use my backup pro). This will allow you backup sms and call log too.
Can't you restore your GB from nandroid and backup apps using titanium/mybackup? You could then transfer the backup files to your new card, flash ICS and restore using titanium/mybackup. Please note I think you need the pro version of mybackup to restore to different roms but with titanium I think the free version does it.

[HELP] Titanium backup and The LG G3

I used titanium backup to backup my apps for when i installed the Lion 5.5 rom. I backed them up to my INTERNAL SD card. I then realized that after backing the apps up, and moved them to the SD card ( by copying the entire folder to the SD card ). I installed the Lion rom as stated before, and then installed Titanium backup, I set the location of the backup folder to the folder where the backup is and then I tried to restore. It said that there were zero apps to restore. Any ideas?
Edit: I also have a backup of my entire system, and the lion rom. If you need me to go back to the original OS when i first backed up the files I can do that, I just cant restore the apps using twrp ( which I used to backup the entire OS ).
Never mind. I got it to work, I had to wipe everything except the internal storage, so when i upgraded to the lion rom, and installed titanium backup It founf my files automatically and I was able to restore.
