I was wondering if we need to backup efs partition just in case the wrong flash overwrote efs partition.
Or is it not needed for mi 6? Just curious

Hello All;
It looks like my /factory partition has been corrupted on my phone. This contains the efs data (imei and other). I tried copying it from my wife's phone and for some strange reason, the phone does not detect my sim card.
I do not have any nandroid backup. Is there a way to restore the efs partition of my phone ?
Pointers/leads are appreciated. I would be rather grateful if this brick can be brought back.
Thanks
Shyam

Hey man, have you found anything ?
Were you able to restore it somehow at home ?
Here is something interesting if not. - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2508320
Cosmicdan has been recommending to use TWRP with his kernel. What I want to know is if TWRP backs up the vendor partition. The last time I did a cwm backup and then restored after some issues, i ended up losing a lot of apps because the vendor partition is not backed up by cwm. I was using 5.0.2.7.
So no one knows if TWRP backup does the vendor partition?
Hello folks,
Simple question:
Does restoring a nandroid backup fix the system partiotion size? Or will it fail because oft the lower size partition?
It fails. A backup does not rewrite the tables.
guys i badly messed up my efs partition and now only the imei efs backup is working and other efs backups like boot etc are corrupted. phone boots normal with charging but when i disconnect it, it soon went off. it goes to recovery just fine. anyone please share your f180l efs partion(not the imei one).
Is there any way to backup the /persist partition to avoid losing IMEI?

look for a TWRP wich alow you backup the desired partition!
after instaling twrp go to Backup option and see the partition options,
if youre desired partition is not there, change the twrp untill you get what you want!
and imei how i know is in efs partition, not in persist!
Thankyou!
