look for a TWRP wich alow you backup the desired partition!
after instaling twrp go to Backup option and see the partition options,
if youre desired partition is not there, change the twrp untill you get what you want!
and imei how i know is in efs partition, not in persist!
Thankyou!

[Q] corrupted /factory mount point & efs partition

Hello All;
It looks like my /factory partition has been corrupted on my phone. This contains the efs data (imei and other). I tried copying it from my wife's phone and for some strange reason, the phone does not detect my sim card.
I do not have any nandroid backup. Is there a way to restore the efs partition of my phone ?
Pointers/leads are appreciated. I would be rather grateful if this brick can be brought back.
Thanks
Shyam

[Q] How change file system on Lineage OS ROM?

Hi,
Once I read that using determinate file systems on the diferents partition cloud lead to some benefits (better performance/less degradation) and I want try to change the File System, but I ask before get a brick.
The idea is to get this:
/storage/emulated/0 formatted in esdfs
/data formatted in f2fs
I use TWRP and official Lineage OS 14. In TWRP there is an option to change file system but i dont know if after change FS is necessary to install again the ROM and if do this would revert the FS to Ext4.
Sorry for my English.

Full backup (in TWRP) - factoryreset + change FS (in TWRP of course) - restore backup. Make sure you have your backup put on the SD, and have a copy of the full SD somewhere safe. Normally, flashing new ROM's afterwards would keep the FS intact.
Cheers

Backup EFS partition

I was wondering if we need to backup efs partition just in case the wrong flash overwrote efs partition.
Or is it not needed for mi 6? Just curious

will this work? twrp backup/restore

I'm on 4.7.6 and backup everything with twrp except system (use system img instead) then flash ob1 and say I don't like it. Can I clean flash 4.7.6 full zip then re flash twrp then restore the backup? Will this work without data loss?
I didn't test it myself but it definitely should. Make sure to use the same TWRP you backed it up with at the beginning and keep in mind that Non-OxygenOS Oreo builds might use keystore3 (making some TWRPs unable to decrypt /data).
Remove any PIN or password before you restore the backup and you should be fine
And don't forget that TWRP doesn't save the SD card or internal storage. Only /data without /data/media

Yeah I'll be sure to remove the pin/pw. I'm using cordworkx uniserval twrp. Seems to be fine on 4.7.6 with flashing things.
Yeah data is what I need backed up. /data/media shouldn't be wiped anyway in any of this? I'll make a backup on my pc just in case.
Thanks for the reply

[QUESTION] Why do I have to continualy wipe the /data partition?

I finally properly rooted my A5 2017 (SW-A520W) and installed the TWRP recovery. But I can't do a full backup of the phone. It won't let me have access to /data. I know this is because the partition is encrypted. I also know I am to run no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0 zip after wiping the /data partition. But guess what?! Everytime I go back into recovery, /data is encrypted again.
Please Help.
