Team microSD card Class 10 with Xiaomi Redmi 1S. Is it Good? - Xiaomi Redmi 1S

Hi guys,
on September 4th next month, i'll be preparing to buy Xiaomi Redmi 1s in flash sales in my country. I also plan to buy Team microSD card class 10 and use it to that Redmi 1S. What do you think guys? Is that microSD card great quality product and capable to deliver its promised read/write speed to this phone? Please answer me. I really need to know about this.
Thanks.

Hi dude. Thanks for your reply. How about microSDHC? Does microSDHC (not microSD) work with Xiaomi Redmi 1S?

Hi, i want to ask again. I just found a 32GB Sandisc microSD card CLASS 4 (not 10) on lazada for around $25, but with the voucher, i can buy it for just $15, which is not that expensive.
My question is, is it really necessary to have microSD card class 10 for smartphone?
I mean, if i go with the 32GB Sandisc microSD "class 4" (which provides me with huge external storage but lower class), instead of the 16GB Samsung microSDHC "class 10", will it really impact to the overall performance of my Redmi 1S, especially when i already rooted it and moved all the game and app data from internal to microSD with apps like "App to SD" or "GL to SD"?
I red that Sandisc microSD card is a really good quality microSD card. And since it is class 4, then it will have 4MB of writing speed of data per second. If i use this microSD on my redmi 1S, will it run laggy especially when running apps or games, or taking 720p videos or watching HD movies from the SD card?
Or it doesn't really have a huge impact to the overall speed of my phone when reading the microSD card?
Please help me, which one should i choose, the 32GB of Sandisc microSD class 4 or 16GB Samsung microSDHC class 10?

Never mind, just read this post on XDA forum about 32GB sandisk microSD class 4 that outperforms many microSD card class 10. Awesome! I'm gonna go with this one definitely! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1150369

The "class" of an SD card tells you its write speed. It is simply the write speed measured in megabytes per second.
A class 4 SDHC card can write at 4 MB/s; a class 10 card can write at 10 MB/s.
Technically, this is the guaranteed minimum speed at which non-fragmented, sequential data can be written to the card. If you don't know what that means, don't worry; just know that higher classes are faster.
But since our phones are not that capable of read & write speed , a class 6 sdcard is more favorable as its got 6 Mbps write speed which is quite good enough for the phones to handle it properly.
And if you are confused between class 4 32gb and class 10 16gb , then my advise will be to go for class class 4 but since there are a lot of variety in market I insist you to search for class 6 32gb and you could get it for the same price of class4 !! (Depends )

Yes. Good enough

What MicroSD Classes Work with the Desire...?

My question was concerning my 16gb Class 6 card (which actually appeared to be corrupt/broke'd anyway)
I asked about compatibly with the Desire...

Thank you for contacting us.
In regards to SD Cards
I can help you with that.
The card that you are trying to use is not compatible with the phone as the class is too high speed for the device to be able to keep up with the speed. I have included a link to a webpage with the sd cards that are compatible with that device.
http://www.expansys.com/a.aspx?i=196001
If you look under the accessory tab then down the bottom is compatible memory.
I trust that this resolves your query, please do not hesitate to contact us again if required.

I'm sure I read some threads about class 10's working fine in the Desire?
The link seems to suggest only a class 2 or a class 4 will work...
I'm using a class 4 without problems so far.
On a dutch board I read a guy was using a class 6 on Starbust so it should be possible I think.
I've just bought a 16gb class 4 Sandisk and the speed tests show it as being quite a bit faster than my class 4 (non Sandisk) 8gb card!
I'm using class 4, working fine
I'm using a 8GB class 6 card with Custom ROM and A2SD with no problem. Been over 6 months now.
A lot of class 10 cards have issues, class 6 seems to be the most reliable thus far. Some people have had good experiences with A-DATA 16gb class 10.
So from user experience - a good Class 6/10 card should work just fine?

For C6 yes.
For C10 Mostly yes... but usually class 10 is not really faster... so save the money.
Just my two cents.
I'm using Transcend 8GB class 6 without any problem. Try to format by gparted or similiar. Are you using it for any other purpose than storing photos, music or etc? For example for data2sd or apps2sd?
I just bought a transcend 16gb class 6, working perfectly so far with no problems.

I bought a 16gb class 6 to use with data2sd but struggled as the card was broken - so i've sent it back and just have the 8gb class 2 that i got with my phone now - and on stock rom again, so it is just photos and music and froyo app2sd at the moment
basically all branded cards will work fine, the thing you shoud be concerned more onthe capacity you are gonna use. It aint worth buying a 16GB sd when u cant fill even half of it with useful stuff
If speed is your thing then get a class 4 or 6 but I had SD mounted as read only with a class 4 8 gig Kingston SD, so I swooped with a buddy of mine for a class 2 SD from a Nokia n95, no problems since then.

best class of SdCard to get

Hey everyone,
I'm thinking of getting a 32 microsd. Card for my S3. I was wondering if a class 10 is necessary or would a class 4 or 6 be sufficient?
Thanks.
Class 6 is sufficent I read somewhere that class 10 is good for taking pictures or something but for this phone class 6 is enough.
It depends on what you'll be doing. Personally, I'd go for a UHS-1 class card. They're just above class 10. Sandisk has a 32GB one for about $40 on Newegg.com. That's what I'm using right now. It has been awesome thus far.
uhs are useless for this phone, no phone on the market supports this feature.
just get the best you can afford, anything above class 4 is enough, but prices aren't much different, so a class 6 or 10 can be in reach.

That might be the case on the international version, but when I'm taking pictures my UHS card it certainly seems to record them faster on my US - AT&T version. I wonder if anyone has done any any read/ write benchmarks to see for sure.
But I do agree, unless you have a need for speed, anything over class 4 should be good for everyday use.

i standby what i said, no phone supports uhs, unless you can prove otherwise.
What about if you use it as USB mass storage? Or making backups
of it? Or it's still limited even though that?
i personally have about 10 class 10 16gbs, and around 12 class 10 32gb, and 4 class 6 64gbs. granted i use only 3 or 4 of them i just have a alot extra. i sued to work at best buy mobile and came up on a lot. couple months ago best buy sold a class 6 64gb online for $45. keep an eye out and look for deals. i do see a big difference in the class of cards. i usually have music and various roms and what not.
What about playing roms saved on sd cards would you notice a difference between class 6 and 10

it's not the card, it's the phone thats preventing the card to reach the limit.
a class 4-10 will work on the s3, you won't notice much of a differences.
---------- Post added at 02:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:06 PM ----------
if you want the fastest card on the market, but not for the S3, you only choice is the sandisk microsdhc extreme pro with upto 95mb/s transfer speed and only available so far 8GB and 16Gb.
or you can consider the adata microsdhc premier pro read 45mb/s and write 40mb/s available in 8gb, 16gb and 32gb.
as with both cards you need a uhs reader to reach the stated speed, otherwise you will only get max read 25mb/s and write 23mb/s which is the standard speed set for sdhc.
Class 6 is the sweet spot
Class 4 should be sufficient enough for normal phone use tho?
unless you are using DSLR perhaps?

Yea class 4 is fine
Class 4 - Good
Class 6 Excellent
Class 10 Overboard
Interesting post: UHS-1 cards may actually perform slower than class 10 in the S3.

You should look at this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1783809
Its not exactly a common brand like sandisk though..
class 4 has faster ram, class 10 has faster sequential write speeds
class 4 is better for every day, random use
class 10 is better for downloads and recording/playback of large files and HD movies

Sandisk vs Samsung class 10 micro sd

As the title says, I would like your opinion on my next purchase of expandable memory (micro sd).
I would like to know which one would be better for my Galaxy Note international version.
1) Samsung Essential Class 10 microSDHC 32GB
or
2) SanDisk Ultra Class 10 microSDHC Ultra 32GB
The price difference is negligible, so I would like to know which one would be the best buy for my G.Note.
If you think that there is a better option, which I have not mentioned, please let me know and preferably with a link to where I can buy it from .
Thank you all in advance for all your input.

SD read = 13Mb/s SD write = 8.6Mb/s
Thank you both for your replies. Looking at your results I will probably go for the sandisk.
This has been very useful and thanks once again for all your help (+1 for each )
I have bad experience with the Sandisk ultra....
Changed with the shop 2 times..
Can't read ..having problem like write data..also can't format.

I have both companies' microsd cards in 32gbs and I have a 64gb sandisk card. All three work fantastic in my Nikon DSLR and in my phone. I also use them with Nexus 10 tablet via a MHL USB cable and an app called "Rawdroid" to view the RAW images from the DSLR, the speed is incredible at 24megapixel sized photos.
i am using 32gb san disk ultra. and my experience is incredible. no issues till now with 1 year + of usage
Guys check this strontium 32gb UHS-1 card http://youtu.be/PuHfmuJ8pf0... should I go for it.
says to be faster than sandisk ultra and samsung pro series microsd cards, with life time warranty....
please suggest....

Class 4 or 10?

Hey guys,
I was originally going to get a class 10 64GB micro sd card for my note 2, as I filled it within 10 minutes of using it, and I have less than half of my music on it.
But I've decided that's too expensive. Would a class 4 be alright for just music and videos up to 720p?
If so, why does anyone bother with class 10?
Thanks.

Hi,
In smartphones any sdcard class more tha 6 is make not difference.
You can see some data results here
For me a sandisk class 6 is the better solution.

The UHS means it has content transfer speed of minimum 30mbps to maximum of 104mbpswhen you transfer the content from MicroSD to System(PC)....but the data write speed on the MicroSD depends on the CLASS mentioned on it i.e.....
The only cards being sold around me are Class 4 and 10. Is 4 enough for music and videos or not? You didn't really answer my question..
I had this question in my mind when I wanted to buy a new card, as per my research class 4 is enough for our smartphone, class 10 is actually well suited for dslrs. I am happy with class 4

Of course i answered your question!
I told you that class 10 is pretty uselles in smarphones so you dont have to look there.
And i told you also that a class 6 is the best solution.
If class4 is good enought?Yes, but the manufacture is more important.
So, a good class 4 (better class 6) is good enought for any smartphone.
Like Elia said, there is ABSOLUTELY no point in putting a class 10 card in a phone. Frankly speaking, even class 6 is kinda faster than needed. If you're going to use it for music and videos, even up to 1080p, a class 4 is more than enough in terms of speed. Unless you need to copy things there from your PC really fast.
Better to spend your money on more space - or better brand, than speed class you won't really use.

I used class 4 for a while without issue.
Upgraded to a class 10 because price wise i figured why not. I spent $32 for a 32gb class 10. Not too bad when a class 4 32gb cost almost the same lol

it really depends on what youre using it for. if its playback of files and videos, class 4 is fine.
however, if you want to record videos at 1080p (bitrate of 18mbps ~ 2.25mb/s) and still snap 6mp snaps (~2-3mb each), then you would want a hgiher speed. with a class 4 card, it would limit you to ~1 photo per second while filming, with a class 10 card, you can bump that up to ~4 photos per second while filming.
it also comes into play with burst shot, the faster the speed of the card, the more photos you can save directly to the card instead of onto your internal memory.
class 10 is also useful for those who use apps to sd.
