Hey guys,
I have a couple of questions,
1. What are some of the best roms for my Sprint s3, im curruntly running Stock kitkiat 4.4.2 rooted. I have tried Pac Rom but i find it over heats my phone for whatever reason, Ive also tried Vanir, hellfire, Cynoginmod( also Nightly), Im trying to find one that wont over heat my phone and also one that i can remove the data bars on top basically make my phone wifi only,
2. Is there any way to possible get Flash player working on kit kat 4.4.2 on my s3 i read some things about different ways.
3. Is there any other good Cracked App stores other then Aptoide, Blackmart, appcake. Or is there a hacked version of google play store where all aps or in app purchases are free besides using freedom since freedom is not legal in our country. i already use Freedom with market unlocker to be able to use freedom. I miss my iphone for this reason because it was so easy to find awesome cracked app store or free in app purchases apps,
4. Is there a way to easily Flash my phone to another career like something i can flash to do it for me something like what iPhone had which was called sam Prefs.

Guys, while I'm installing my old apps from GS II to my GN (ITL41F.I9250ZSKKB, 4.0.1, rooted, stock rom & recovery), suddenly I have this odd problem which all letters got corrupted, after a series of try in errors, I found that it is somewhat related to Pulse Reader, all things went smooth again after I removed PR, any of u encountered this problem? Could we work a list of app which would induce this problem?
Rom: 4.0.1 ITL41F.I9250ZSKKB
App which would induce display issue
1) Pulse News
2) Polaris Office (maybe)
3) the combination of news ticker Widgets and Pulse News installed

I'm finding a lot of my old apps from my Gingerbread phone are not working on ICS. Too bad there wasn't a compatibility option in ICS where it could emulate older versions of Android. This would probably slow the performance of the app but would get functionality out of said app until an ICS version of the app became available.

I've got the same problem without having Pulse Reader installed. If the problem is related to some app it'd be very difficult to find out which one is causing it. Therefore I second building a list of incompatible apps.

We've already got a list going. I remember seeing a thread of incompatible apps.
I'm using pulse reader just fine. Did u do a fresh install from the market or restore the app from the old phone? Cauz I know some apps in the market have different apks for different phones.

Ok, i flashed my phone to the newest distro of ProjectX the other night, but it just kills my battery in absolutely no time what so ever. When it goes into sleep mode it requires me to remove my case, cover and battery. Than plug it into my charger and wait about 15 minutes to power it on. I cannot have my phone doing that. It must turn on at anytime for me. Other than the battery being absolutely horrible with this mod and the sleep thing i love it. Loud volume is a huge plus.......
Went back to Revolt rom and i have absolutely 0 data and volume is super low. I like Revolt as its 4.3.X but the volume is way too low and cant get any data when not on wifi, again i cannot have this i must have my data. So i tried using some app for XplosionAudio or something, but it made absolutely no difference in the phones loudness via apps like AlarmClock Extreme, messaging, ringtones etc. I really prefer to stick with Revolt simply for the 4.3.X Android, but i need help.
Any ideas on what to do to fix my data problems? Have tried installing APN Backup and Restore along with Titanium but cant get anything to work with that either.
I guess you can say im a noob when it comes to this though ive been fiddling with it for awhile, i just read instructions step-by-step before tinkering with stuff.
btw i have sprint for service.
What baseband version are you running? Also, 4.3.x ROMS are hit and miss for some people.

You need to have an ICS modem for AOSP ROMs (like FL24)

Im using FL24 on it currently.
With ProjectX i had AWESOME reception and was even getting 4g lte in some areas, on Revolt i barely get to see 3g lte kick in.

first off....its not LTE...its wimaxx. it just shows LTE..which I think is cool, but this device doesn't get LTE.
second...use a jb modem on jb touchwiz based roms..
as for the battery life and sleep issue...check the md5 to insure u have a good download. I've been running this Rom and its variants for quite sometime with great battery life.
make sure also that no apps are causing wake locks...
but it sounds like to me that u might have a bad download.
hit me back with some more info and we will get ya straightened out...
This paragraph is intended to provoke thought and is not necessary for answering questions about ROMs, so skip past it if you want: When it comes to cell phones, I like freedom and options. Google has been criticized by the Electronic Frontier Foundation for censoring AdBlock from Google Play. The EFF also levied a criticism for Google doing away with AppOpps. I remember separately having a YouTube account and Gmail account, gracefully using both. After Google bought YouTube, the two were merged without any choice to keep them separate. Then Google+ was introduced and using YouTube became annoying without accepting a Google+ account. Eventually they shoved it down the throats of YouTube users and leaving a YouTube comment was blocked without creating a Google+ account. When you sign up for a new Google account, your searches are saved by default in the history unless you manually turn the feature off. Of course, the NSA leaks raise more questions. Google offers many efficient, valuable, convenient services but I want to maximize my freedom.
Some facts about my phone situation: I own the LTE-capable Samsung Galaxy S III SGH-T999L. It is rooted. It is locked to T-Mobile. Titanium Backup Pro, Root Explorer, and Terminal Emulator are installed. I backed up Knox with Titanium Backup and (as far as I can tell) uninstalled it. To my knowledge, there is no backup whatsoever of my operating system in its current state or original state. I do not know how to back everything up before I try flashing a ROM. As much as I want a non-Google ROM, I am unwilling to sacrifice LTE.
I never flashed a ROM before. Where do I begin if I want to do this safely and correctly? Is there a safe, stable, non-Google ROM tested to work specifically with the SGH-T999L and fully maintain LTE capabilities? Will I have to sacrifice anything major if I flash a ROM? Can flashing a ROM significantly affect battery life? Are there any important considerations you think I should know about before trying to flash a ROM (besides how to do it properly)?
Thanks.
There's no such thing as a non-Google ROM on an Android phone. Not and useable as a phone, at least.
And yes, flashing a custom ROM can significantly improve your battery life, especially with a custom kernel, although just flashing a custom kernel on a rooted but completely stock phone can help, too.
I don't have first hand experience with they model phone so I can't answer your other questions. Good luck!

I did not know that all Android operating systems were by Google. Thanks for letting me know.
When it comes to corporate tracking (e.g. collecting usage statistics in the background) or restricting phone options, is there any advantage that a custom ROM has over a stock ROM without bloatware?

Not really, if you're worried about all that stuff you might as well get a burner flip phone. Anything you do on the internet can be tracked in some way. But there is an all called Who's Tracking? and many similar ones.

Wife has been complaining that her keyboard hasn't been responsive, that its not picking up her swypes. I tried it out and I noticed that its just laggy all around. Opening/closing apps, swiping through screens. Everything is just so slow. Has anyone else noticed this?
I've been running smooth like buttah since the update. But, I flashed the update tar so my system was wiped clean. Also have done the usual tweaks (freezing/Uninstaller crap, turning off unneeded notifications, etc)

Any suggestions for which ROM?
I've always run rooted stock on my S3 but the 4.4.2 update (installed via cnexus method) is doing weird things. Sometimes it's fast. Sometimes it crashes. Usually while I'm trying to take an important call.
My criteria: stability, speed, and assurance of periodic updates, in that order. No nightlies on that device, just something that works well. It's my work phone and I want to make it last for a year.
Thanks,
BJ

I would solve the problem under stock first, otherwise you may still have the problem no matter what ROM you use. Try Odining the stock ND8 tar again? Make sure the MD5 hash matches what you downloaded for it.
Maybe it's an app you have installed? Try just adding downloaded apps one or a few at a time.
I've successfully run stock rooted ND8, Wicked X v6+, and now on Singularity.

I've got two questions and I can't seem to figure out what search terms to use to find the answers.
Question 1)
I'm looking at a Sprint S3 that someone else is selling that's already flashed to Page Plus with their phone number.
I'm wondering what is required (if my daughter buys it) to change it over to my daughter's phone number without losing the picture messaging that he says works on his? I'm asking this because....
Question 2)
Picture message doesn't work on the Sprint S3 that I own that is also flashed to Page Plus. (I paid a senior member on here to do it, and everything else works fine. But if I try to send or download picture messages, it just tries and tries and tries until it times out, even when WiFi is turned off.) I've googled all over the place trying to figure out how to get it to work, but everything I find is either old info (so I don't know if it will work) or it doesn't work at all (like VZ app or 8sms that work for some people) or else I haven't the faintest idea what they're saying to do.
How can I figure out which of the multitude of instructions out there is the solution for MY Sprint S3. Is it the version of android that matters? The date the phone was purchased? The method that was used to root and flash? Something else?
page plus
change your donor phone.whichever phone your s3 is cloned to must b changed.mms was decommissioned on a bunch of phoes.
Hi. Just an FYI although this probably isn't the cause in this case.
I've had it happen that if an MMS failed to send, that all MMS would fail until all failed ones were deleted.

MIKEY309, I had no donor phone. It's not required for S3s.
My daughter wound up buying an S3 from somebody else who flashed it for us... we'll see if photo texting works.
roirraW "edor" ehT, I'll try that.

Maybe no donor phone but you need donor numbers, the keys which make your s3 operate came from somewhere.if that particular model phone that your keys came from was decommissioned by sprint,no mms
