I have had CM 11 on my Kindle for the past 6 moths or so and it has been awesome. This past week, it is basically unusable. Apps won't load, it won't wake up from sleep most of the time, and it is extremely slow. When I try to update apps, it takes a very long time. I didn't make any changes to it recently. I can't figure it out. Also, every 20 seconds a message pops up saying email has stopped.
I'd wipe cache and dalvik cache from twrp and see how much space is left on the data partition.
Ok thanks
I tried searching, and couldn't find any threads about this.
When browsing in the app, YouTube displays fine. However, when I load a video, it cuts off quite a bit of the video. An ad will play fullscreen, but the video will not. This wasn't a problem before. It just started happening today. I tried rebooting the ATV (center click + play button hold) and that didn't help. I cleared YouTube's cache, that was of no help as well. I'm wondering if I'll need to try reinstalling Youtube.
Picures of what I'm talking about are attached.
I'm not sure if it helps, but I am rooted on Software Version 51.1.1.0_user_511070220
Thanks for your time.
Uninstall youtube and update latest root firmware., then reinstall youtube.
I noticed this exact same thing last night however it wasn't on every video, only some of them.

so you've had the same exact problem, did that, and it fixed it for you? seems a bit over the top..

I have started seeing the same problem with my FireTV Stick YouTube App. It did not happen earlier.
I tried uninstalling and re-installing YouTube App, but it did not help!
Anybody know how to fix it?

it did and i also adjusting the screen resolution on dispaly panel in settings.
I found one workaround.
When the video is cut-off, press menu button (three horizontal lines) on the remote once, that will take you to the search screen. Then press back button to go back to your video which should be now be either less cut or full screen. If its still cut-off, repeat the steps one more time and it will be full screen.
Annoying but works for now!
If you don't want to update to the latest pre-root, then completely uninstall YouTube and reinstall. Most people believe that simply uninstalling then reinstalling works, but doing so often leaves traces. You must clear the cache and dalvik to ensure it's cleaned from the system. Here is how to do it.
Uninstall the app through the settings. Reboot to CWM and clear cache and dalvik. Reboot. Then reinstall the app. If this doesn't fix the screen issue, then you might want to try updating.

Yesterday this started happening to mine also, strange it only affects certain videos.
My AFTV is unrooted and uses standard app, only posting to re-enforce that the problem seems to have suddenly appeared.
I will just keep an eye open and try and narrow down which are causing a problem.
This recently has been happening to me and it's on all videos. The YouTube app has been acting weird on my tablet as well, but less frequently.
hm, I left it alone for a while and now it seems to be working. that's fine and all, I would just like to know what caused it so that we can fix this if it happens again, or is still happening for others.
thanks for your input everyone.
If i open netflix 10 times on my fire tv 9 times it will tell me it is unable to connect to netflix . Is anyone else having this issue also? Or has anyone had it and figured out how to fix it. I have cleard cache and data and even reinstalled a few times and nothing seems to fix it. Any idea or help would be great.
Usually happens when you use Kodi as a launcher or minimize to Home rather than exiting. Try quitting Kodi.
If not Kodi, suspect other background apps.
OS 5 handles this better (but has other, larger, problems).

It's really strange that so many people have had major issues with Netflix for so long and Amazon doesn't seem to acknowledge it on a large scale. Mine has worked fine for months but that wasn't always the case and I still have the occasional video that won't load.
You can try the old prescription (something like this)
1. Uninstall Netflix
2. Go to apps/Amazon video and clear data 3 times
3. Unplug aftv for at least 10 seconds
4. Reinstall Netflix.
*if you have CWM, you can also wipe dalvik & cache partition (after step 3). It's just an added measure and maybe not necessary.
i can get netflix to load now but when trying to watch a video it loads to 25% and then tells me the title cant be played right now...
I have 2 fire sticks, on the 1 I have no issues. The other it is constantly cutting out but only when watching Netflix. When I say cutting out, it will drop audio and visual for a few seconds, the screen goes black, and then it picks back up as if it had been playing the whole time (so you end up missing a couple words of what is being said). I have tried clearing the cache, uninstalling & re-installing Netflix, restarting the fire stick, when I do this stuff, it SOMETIMES fixes it temporarily but before long it starts again. This has gone on for quite a while (despite numerous updates) and only happens with Netflix. I've tried searching for answers online but haven't found anything with exactly this problem and the only things close are what lead me to the steps that I've already taken. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hello,
I'm running a rooted Pixel XL with stock rom version 7.1.1 (security patch from December). Whenever I use Messenger or Whatsapp to start a video call, the recipient and I can see each other but can't hear me but I can hear them. Shortly after that, the app locks up and eventually displays the "app not responding" message. Switching from mobile data to wifi doesn't make a difference. Rebooting the phone and immediately making the same call temporarily fixes it and allows me to make the call. The next time I attempt to make a video call, it would exhibit the same symptoms. I've tried clearing the apps' cache, uninstalling/reinstalling the apps, and I've even tried clearing dalvic cache. It doesn't seem likely to be an outdated system updates/security patch issue since a reboot would make it work again. Any help with this is much appreciated! TIA!
