I have had CM 11 on my Kindle for the past 6 moths or so and it has been awesome. This past week, it is basically unusable. Apps won't load, it won't wake up from sleep most of the time, and it is extremely slow. When I try to update apps, it takes a very long time. I didn't make any changes to it recently. I can't figure it out. Also, every 20 seconds a message pops up saying email has stopped.
I'd wipe cache and dalvik cache from twrp and see how much space is left on the data partition.
Ok thanks

Hello everyone.
Some months ago I installed an Android 4.2.2 ROM on my phone and it worked fine for a few days, then the phone started getting too slow and laggy. I made a factory reset many times and I tried installing different versions of the ROM (from different countries), but the same happened. I went back to 4.1.2 and I have the same issue. After the factory reset, my phone is fast, but I start installing apps and it gets really slow. I have noticed that when I stop "Google play services" it gets faster again for a few minutes/hours.
I have tried many things that I have read and in other forums.
I deactivated the gallery app and many of the apps that come with the phone. I cleaned the cache data, etc.
What can I do?
Thanks in advance
EDIT: I ran SD Card Tester to check the writing speed of the internal storage and it gets stuck after writing around 150 mb and the writing speed drops to 0.89 mb/s and the phone gets extremely slow. I had to close everything.
Just clear the ram once u feel the phone gets too slow... currently m.having a system uptime of 120hrs. The phone starts to get slow after 3 days of usage.. that moment I start clearing apps .. and this really works...
My device is rooted and has XBMC on it. It was working fine for a month or so but now I keep getting long buffer times with a message saying Cache full. I tried clearing the cache before but i still get the error. I did some research and what i found told me to apply the zero cache advanced xml. so I downloaded two maintenance tools. one being XBMCHUB maintenance and the other being Xfinitytalk's maintenance wizard. I've tried both and no matter what it always stops to buffer every few minutes and it doesn't buffer to the end regardless of how long i leave it paused. If i accidentally restart the show at the half way point it has to pause and buffer from the start over again (which is VERY annoying) and makes shows quite unwatchable
i am not sure what to do anymore.. clearing cache doesnt help, port forwarding doesnt help, zero cache xml doesnt work. at one point i started wondering if it was the sources but i've tried it on multiple plugins and it doesnt work but netflix works fine. has anyone else been seeing this problem? can anyone advise me on what to do?
I have the same issues as you do on both of my AFTVs. With my very limited experience with XBMC, it looks like the source being loaded down when I see these buffering and cache full messages. If I change to a different source or even go to SD source, no issues. It might not be the same for you, but this is just something I have observed because those cache full and buffering messages always BUG me!!
anyone here ever experienced, my xperia screen suddenly crashes and then dark grey i think
but the system normal, i can receive call, sms, bbm, whatsapp an also working volume button
it happen about 5 minutes, and i try to unlock screen and its fine
i try a little bit, and then it happen again. i wait again for 5 minutes,
and when i can see screenlock I let sit for 10 minutes, and it look fine
is that corrupt ROM or broken hardware?
XMS 1905, latest stock rom 4.3,swap framework.jar
thanks
i had that issue , so i can't handle it than i cleared data/cache its fixsed my suggestion is that.
Wipe cache and dalvic, if not solved the problem, wipe data to, in short, reset your phone... You must be using same rom for too much time, instead of resetting your phone, try clean master, give it a shot...

After about 1,5 weeks of usage, the camera cannot be started anymore since a few hours.
Rebooted a few times already. There is a popup stating that the "camera could not be started, either reboot or restart the camera".
It worked a few hours ago and since then nothing happened with the phone.
I cleared the cache of the "camera" app and made a fresh start. Other camera apps also do not work.
What happened? :/
EDIT: I did a factory reset and the camera is working again...
Just out of curiosity what build were you on when this happened. I only noticed the problem after I updated to the latest update version ending in .225.
The only way I was able to fix it was by powering off the phone and then powering it back on because clearing the cache/restarting it didn't work. It worked fine for a while after the first power off but then it started giving me the same error after a few hours. So now I powered off a second time and it's been about 12 hours since and so far no issues....
Next time, take a bug report from developer settings, and post it in their official forum.
Had the same problem twice in the first week of the phone, looks like hang after U use the super slowmo and dont close the app. at least was both times after using the slowmo and just locking the phone
Just started getting this error in the last few days. Most of the time a reboot fixes the issue. Sometimes it takes several reboots. BTW, I did the most recent software update a couple weeks ago.
Had the same issue, it also causes a battery drain.
The app BetterBatteryStats showed a 100% kernel wakelocks of the process "Sony,camera_modules".
My battery drained from 100 to 40% in 4 hours with just 10 minute screentime.
I've expierenced camera cannot be started error now 8 times, rebooting temporary solves the problem...
Hopefully a OTA update will solve this problem.
Hi, i have the same problem with latest .225 built
Camera works but black screen, and after 3 or 4 times crashed.
The only fix is wait an update by sony??
Me too. Same problem. I had to Factory reset. It pissed me off....
Now sometimes it appears but i reboot and then goes back .
I confirm i have the same problem with the latest firmware but i have it one time with an old one to. For me it's happens when i close the camera app while i have the phone on horizontal. Some time to recover i just open the camera with the phone horizontally but sometimes i need to clear data and restart the phone to make it work again XD
Maybe the wrong thread, but is there a way to take motion photos (like in gcam) on the XZ2 Compact?
Hey guys, i love my pixel 3 XL its been great but it has been randomly freezing and locking up, somtimes requiring a restart.
Other time i get the system UI crashed message and then i close it and it works again. Sometimes Chrome or the camera app locks up and crashes too.
Anybody experiencing this? Any ideas on a fix, maybe the next December OTA will fix it hopefully.
Thanks

I'm getting pretty fed up of factory resetting my phone, the phone started saying it's corrupt so I ended up reflashing it and that issue is now gone, but this freezing issue happens every now and then. You really think a factory reset is worth trying? Or could have something of gone wrong with the reflash?

I absolutely would try a factory reset if things are acting strange for no apparent reason.

If you flashed the factory image it's either a hardware or app issue. Have you tried using the phone for awhile with a minimum of apps? I'd give that a try I don't think a factory reset will do anything if you've already flashed the factory image.

try the flash-all.bat then when its complete go to stock recovery and format /data
are you using substratum?
Pixel 3 XL crashing
I have had the same problem. My system UI crashes since new, along with other apps and the phone becomes non-responsive. I thought it was just a new phone glitch that would be fixed with an update, no such luck... I need to do a hard reboot by holding the power button until it reboots. I bought a Pixel 2 XL in August and never had any problems like this. I finally contacted Google about the problems and they RMA'd it. I never root my phones before making sure they work correctly, so this one is and has been stock, unrooted.
My wife and I have the 64GB models in Black (mine), White (hers). She's on her 3rd replacement phone for what seems to be a similar issue.
Symptoms:
When using the fingerprint reader to unlock the phone, it may not unlock for 10+ tries.
The phone's battery drains quickly, within a couple hours of barely any use, her phone might be down to 60-70%
System_UI crashes
Some apps don't seem to load quickly (Like going into messages, you see the app container, and a new chat button, but no messages load for a minute). Or she's had a straight up black screen, and the app wouldn't load.
Takes minutes to call or hang up a call and often takes rebooting to close out the phone app.
It almost seems like something is running in the background that is utilizing the CPU and causing the lag/app/battery issues.
Troubleshooting:
Factory Reset
Wiping Dalvik Cache
Replacing the phone twice through Verizon. The first replacement had the same issues immediately. The 2nd phone showed the same issues immediately, and then went away for 3 weeks since the Dec. 5th Security update, but in the past few days has returned.
Booted in Safe Mode (everything seems to be working fine however extremely limited).
We've also checked the processes and no apps seem to be running that would make any sort of impact.
Running out of ideas

Since the December update, the freezing issues I was having have been significantly reduced, but it still freezes sometimes... I am hoping the January update coming in the next week will smooth out any remaining bugs.
Any of you using a different launcher?
I had this freezing and non-responsive issue. The google rep, replaced it, he determined it is some kind of hardware issue. My replacement didn't have this issue at all (November update). However, the lag/stuttering still persists though. I had replaced quiet a few pixel 3 XL, and i am just getting tired of it. For a $1K phone, we shouldn't get mediocre quality of phone.
So my wife had been removing applications in small groups to try to narrow it down. It seemed for a week or so that she was in the clear and everything was working. Then all of a sudden she got the January update and her phone is still having issues.
Slow responding finger print reader.
System UI crashes
Unable to answer phone calls despite numerous attempts.
It still seems like there is something that is running in the background that is just using the processing power.

Get gsam from the app store, if you don't have it. After awhile see what apps are using battery, app sucker in the app. Gsam is a battery monitor.

Sadly, gsam and accubattery don't show anything out of the norm app wise.
