Hello everyone.
Some months ago I installed an Android 4.2.2 ROM on my phone and it worked fine for a few days, then the phone started getting too slow and laggy. I made a factory reset many times and I tried installing different versions of the ROM (from different countries), but the same happened. I went back to 4.1.2 and I have the same issue. After the factory reset, my phone is fast, but I start installing apps and it gets really slow. I have noticed that when I stop "Google play services" it gets faster again for a few minutes/hours.
I have tried many things that I have read and in other forums.
I deactivated the gallery app and many of the apps that come with the phone. I cleaned the cache data, etc.
What can I do?
Thanks in advance
EDIT: I ran SD Card Tester to check the writing speed of the internal storage and it gets stuck after writing around 150 mb and the writing speed drops to 0.89 mb/s and the phone gets extremely slow. I had to close everything.
Just clear the ram once u feel the phone gets too slow... currently m.having a system uptime of 120hrs. The phone starts to get slow after 3 days of usage.. that moment I start clearing apps .. and this really works...

I have been running Android 2.2 on my Defy (34.179.2.MB525.Retail.en.CEE) since it came out, and never had any problems with the Market app. Couple of weeks ago the new Market (version 3.1.3) has been automagically updated on my device, and it's so slow I can't believe it. It takes 10-20 seconds to start up (compared to the instant launch of the previous one), and another half minute or more to display my installed apps (but the thumbnail icons take another couple of minutes to load).
I have tried to delete all data and cache of the app, but it didn't help at all. Even tried downgrading to the previous version (2.12), but after some time it gets updated again unfortunately.
Any ideas how to speed it up or at least prevent it from upgrading?
Same here. I'm using the market version 3.1.3 since yesterday and I'm very disappointed. I can't even update any apps, because it's just "loading". I've cleaned the data of the market and then it worked for 1 time, but now it's "loading" again.
If I kill the market app, it just loads fine ... But that's not so comfortable.
So my GF got Galaxy nexus 3 months ago, I rooted it and switched a few roms (PA,CM) but I kept her Xylon rom. Last 2 weeks she is complaining about really slow performance, so I took a look at it and it was horrible , phone refused to wake up sometimes or waked uped after 1minute, application were slow (without FC), often system was ok (i could slide notification shade) but applications were loading (black screen) for up to 1 min. I thought it was because of Xylon beta so I wiped it and flashed stock 4.2.2 rom. But it didn't help. I spent about 10 minutes in Setup wizard only because it was horribly freezing. I also enabled Strict mode but it rarely flashes. I suspect it is something with reading/writing speed of phones memory. What should I do? Can it be fixed?

did you flashed all stock images including userdata?
did you wipe cache partition?
what is your available storage?
SOLVED
I remounted /data , it is bug caused by emmc chip. Found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2029246
Thanks anyway.
Hey guys,
I have quite a big issue with my maguro for a few months now and I'm getting very desperate...
I have MASSIVE performance issues - the phone lags as hell, apps stop loading, my keyboard gets stuck - hell, I can't even write a Whatsapp message without my phone getting stuck for like 2mins... It's reaaaally annoying and can drive me crazy sometimes.
First I thought it's just a ROM or kernel issue - but I was proven wrong. I changed ROMs and kernels and tried so many and the problem persists. I did factory resets en masse and flashed the newest factory image like 3 times - the problem persists.
I hope someone does have an idea what can cause my problems. I just can't stand this lag anymore... So pls help me
Not sure which version of android your running.
But my GN runs much smoother after installing/running these apps from play store:
Greenify
Lagfix
Send from GN running ParanoidAndroid2.57 Jellybean 4.1.2 w/Tablet Mode
Maybe a silly question but did you check your storage space? I had this with stock ics and read somewhere that storage consumption greater than fifty to sixty % causes these latencies. After just cleaning up the memory the issue was fixed.
So, this has been bugging me for some time now, but this morning I've had enough. What happens is that I put apps to update trough the Google Play store, and my phone becomes really slow and the download/install speed is even worse. I just put about 12 apps to update, all small apps. It took the phone almost an hour to update and there were still 4 left that weren't. Tried using FB Messenger to talk to my GF and the phone just hanged and wouldn't respond for at least a minute.
I've had the Redmi Note 3 from my GF for a while, and that thing installed apps like nothing. It was really fast and as soon it downloaded the installation started and almost instantly finished. Compared to my G4, it was a pleasure to watch that.
Is anyone else having similar problems? I have a H815 bootloader unlocked with Genisys Rom 2.2.1 on it. And, I've had this problem on every stock based MM and LP ROM, tho not sure if I had it on a CM or AOSP based ROM.
My phone is now good two years old. It doesn't show its age externally which is why I'm not exactly jumping to replace it, but it does have some "internal" issues.
Recently it became quite jerky & unresponsive. This shows in apps just not snapping in, animations tear & crack all over the place and, well, it's just not smooth. Actually, this is so bad that it's even hard to answer the phone because it just doesn't detect the swipe, so sometimes it takes a second or even third try.
So I decided to go from CM based ROM to a stock based ROM. Made a flash, a factory reset and rebooted the thing. My next step is to restore my apps with titanium backup, so I install it from Play Store, install the Pro key and then restore all the apps (some 40 of them). I'm not sure if this plays much of a role because even if I don't use TiBu to restore, the same thing happens anyway.
At first, everything was smooth again. But in a matter of hours, the phone was jerky again. This came as a bit of surprise as normally it takes around a week (but it always becomes jerky). I swear I'm not doing anything taxing with the phone. I uninstalled all the apps that I thought might be causing this, but nothing had any effect. I'll now go back to the CM based ROM because it suits me better in some aspects, but I've just about had it with all this unresponsiveness.
Is there any way for me to detect what it is that's causing these hiccups? Is there a rational explanation for my woes?
Try to reboot in safe mode and see if it becomes jerky again after one or two days...or hours.
If it becomes then is a hardware problem.
If not try a full wipe install your fav apps but don't restore any data.
Do you have an SD card in your phone by any chance? This phone suffers from slow SD cards. I have a Kingston SD Class 4 card and the Gallery, Messenger, and some apps just start freezing and being unresponsive. Ordered a Class 10 UHS-I Samsung SD Card......lets hope it works better. The phone is super quick when not using an SD card on stock 6.0
Thanks for the suggestions. Since I don't have an SD card in, I'll attempt a safe mode probe to see if it helps.
