I have a G3 on Verizon, that I just pulled out of my pocket and when I turned the screen on my phone reverted back to the setup wizard screen where I could choose my language. I was confused as I have had my phone for a week now so I restarted my phone and my phone went back to the stock start up screen. I'm confused as to how this happened, does anyone have any experience with this?
I was running complete stock, no modifications, I did not change it to ART at any point I've had my phone. Anyone know what's up? Should I exchange the phone?

So I've had my Tab 3 for a little over 6 months now and have had no issues what-so-ever 'til now. My problem is with the screen just suddenly becoming unresponsive after locking it after use. I swiped my finger across the screen to unlock and got right back into my tablet like normal, but then once I tried to do open up applications from the Home Screen nothing happened. I tabbed lightly and swiped repeatedly trying to get a response.... nothing.
My screen LCD screen is flawless and is original, it has never been tampered with. There are no cracks or scratches or anything it just suddenly stopped working. So I figure it's a software issue, no big deal, right? Wrong. I did a soft reset by holding down the power button, it reboots and comes back to the home screen. Nothing. I figured wth I have nothing important on here, let me do a hard reset. Boot into recovery mode wipe the cache and tablet performing a hard reset. Tablet then reboots to the default setup screen to choose language. Nothing. I can't choose anything. I don't know what's wrong. Lastly, the battery was semi-low around 20% or so before this all happened. So I let it fully charge again hoping that'd help, but nothing. I'm at a loss of what to do next.
NOTE: This is all original and is stock everything. I've never modded this tablet or rooted it. I don't understand how the digitizer would just give out for no reason, it hasn't been dropped or anything.
Any other troubleshooting I can do? I've thought about installing the USB drivers and putting it into download mode to flash a custom rom or even the original to see if it'll work, but I don't want to do that unless necessary. If it is the digitizer are these hard to replace and costly?

well replace a screen digitizer require a basic set of skills on mobile repairing. However I found this on ebay (US) http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odk...en.TRS1&_nkw=T217S+screen&ghostText=&_sacat=0
but you can try to flash into latest firmware by samsung and try again
Twice this week my alarm didn't go off (luckily I set a backup today) because sometime throughout the night something happened. When I woke up the phone was frozen on the yellow Sprint Spark startup screen. I needed to pull the battery and everything started up fine. I updated to Lollipop about 2 weeks ago which is where I'm guessing the issues stem from.
Is there anything I should try other than restoring to factory and starting over? I'd prefer to not have to wipe everything from my phone but these issues are becoming problematic. I am not rooted.
Thanks.
You answered your own question. You need to try a factory reset. Problems happen when you upgrade to new software without wiping.

Dschachm is correct. Then if you root and install TWRP you can back it up with all of your apps and data. So if there is ever a problem again, just restore and done.
So I ended up doing a factory reset and while the phone certainly started running faster with better battery performance after the reset I'm still having this issue. I would say it occurs 2-3 times a week. It has only occurred overnight which is typically when I charge my phone so I'm pretty sure it is related to being left connected to the charger. The majority of the times I will wake up with a dim yellow Sprint screen and everything else frozen though occasionally the screen will be black with the led notification light red. In both situations the screen will not respond to any button pushes or holds and I need to pull the battery and then everything will start up fine.
Does anybody have any suggestions here on what I should do? I guess I can try and restore one more time and see but I don't really know why it would be different and it is certainly a pain to keep restoring the phone and losing all my settings. I definitely don't want to root now since I believe that voids the warranty and if I can't figure anything out with this I'll certainly be requesting a new phone from Sprint. Before I start dealing with Sprint though I thought I would check here first. Through all my searches on the internet I haven't seen anyone else complaining about this problem.
Thanks.
I've gotten the sprint yellow screen and nothing else.phone doesn't turn on? When I try turn it on after removing batteryou I get the android figure and phone turns off? How can I reboot or start the phone..?and can I save my contacts?
I own the european dual sim version of this phone. Currently installed is the most recent stock software available. While charging my phone fell on ground. When I went to pick it up the screen wasn't cracked but something else happened. Below is what my screen now looks like. It still responds like a normal phone where I can open apps and restart it but I can't tell exactly what is going on. I have attempted to shut off the phone completely and restart it but nothing has worked. Not really sure now where to even start to fix this problem.
Hi All,
My phone will not boot. I have tried soft resets multiple times. It will not even boot after I selected the factory data reset by holding down the volume down and power button since it seems like that requires a full boot to reset. During boot it shows the LG logo and sometimes makes it to the AT&T logo but after that either black screens, back to the LG logo and powers off, or boot cycles and keeps showing the LG logo multiple times. I have taken out the SD card and tried all these steps with and without it. Took out the sim card and reseated it. The phone is stock and not rooted.
Let me know if you guys need more information or have any ideas.
Thank you all and I'm sure this is been solved before, but I'm at work and don't have time to research so thoroughly through all the threads/posts.
if it's not rooted and stock, i'd send it back to lg under warranty

I have already put in a ticket to LG before this post for their return shipping information and repair. I was just hoping by some miracle that someone had a fix besides a factory reset since it won't even boot to allow the factory reset.
Thank you
Ok, sorry for the lacking help! Good luck, hope someone else replies with a suggestion
This just happened to me too.
Shows the lg logo. Sometimes the att logo.
But, just doesnt boot up. All i see is a blank screen :/
From everything i read here on XDA it seems that many of the phones are faulty.
Symptoms are almost identical. Outta no reason reboots and dead phones. Many of them are stock not rooted.
I have still no answer from LG about mine. Hope to hear soon. Something is going on with these phones but what causes it.....that`s the question....
The same thing happened to my H-815 model. I went to bed listening to YouTube and woke up to a dead phone. The LED doesn't come on when charging. Just like you, when I turn it on all I see is the LG boot screen and then it shuts off. The phone repeats this twice and then doesn't turn on again.
I received my lightly used LG G7 G710ULM a few hours ago. (purchased from eBay)
Went out and took a bunch of pictures with it without a sim card in it. Came home and powered the phone off before throwing my sim card in.
Booted the phone back up and it seems to have factory reset itself; Was thrown back into the initial setup screen and of course, after going through all that again, all the photos I took today are gone.
Needless to say I'm furious and now have trust issues with this thing.
Any idea as to what might have happened, if it's possible to recover my lost photos, or what I should do right now?
I haven't been able to replicate this issue yet (tried powering off and removing sim again) so it's not a consistent thing, but now I'm scared that it might randomly happen to me again.
Thanks.

Are you sure that the previous owner account wasn't still logged in? If it was the previous owner could have launched a remote factory reset (yep it's a feature).

Pretty sure it wasn't as I had to do the whole Google setup when I first turned the phone on.
My friend postulates that this might be similar to the "security feature" found in newer Samsung Galaxy phones in which whenever a new SIM card from another country (more specifically from Canada) is used, when one switches to a U.S. SIM after having been on a Canadian SIM, the phone will do a factory wipe.
Man that just happened to me, I have been using this phone for like 3 days... I fully charged it and I don't know sometimes I like to make a restar so I hold power button to show the restart menu so I clicked on power off and restart, went to the bathroom took a shower and came back to find my phone reset.. No one's is in home so is no like someone tried to type pass codes and after several attempts go to factory reset so no that didn't happen, so yes my LG G7 reset itself... Sorry my bad English
