I carried my HTC Desire in my pocket on a walk, when I looked at it at the end there was some moisture under the screen. I left it in rice over night and it switched on fine the next day.
Now, I can't hear people speak when they call, Music plays very very tinny and I think the speaker might need replacing? When I plug headphones in, I can hear music and voices fine.
How hard is it to replace the speaker and will this likely solve my problem? Is this something I can do myself with the £5 parts and tools from ebay? I have had the phone just under 18 months in the UK and wondered if anyone knew whether this was covered under HTC warranty?
Thanks
Tom
Update: Sound does appear to be playing through the speaker when watching videos/in apps, just I can't hear voices from a phone call unless I plug headphones in. I can't work out if the speaker sounds quite as loud as it used to, but it doesn't sound too bad (it was never great in the first place!) So does anyone know why I can't hear the voices in the call?
Thanks,
Tom
Ok so my gf just got the GSII and she is having a problem. She uses an aux cord in her car to plug in her phone so that it goes through the speakers. When she plugs this phone in and makes a phone call, the person on the other end cannot hear her, but she can hear the other end.
Has anyone seen this before and do you have any fixes????
THANKS!

hmm that is not what I wanted to hear lol
That really doesnt make any sense at all, it should be the same as its just an aux port. I had her try it with computer speakers and it was the same.
It could be that you had used a bad designed audio cable. If you look at the original headphone that came with the phone, the plug has 3 parts to it (Ground, Sound, and Mic). So it could be that the no good audio cable is taking in the Mic side as well, therefore the other party is not hearing her.
If you really want this mixed 100% without worrying about the type of cable. I suggest you buy a cable with a mic on it with aux in. I am sure you can find one on monoprice.com/amazon/ebay.
Good Luck
Lately it is very hard to hear anyone during a phone call through the receiver. Oddly, the sound seems to be coming out of the headphone jack (with nothing plugged into it). I'm trying to figure out if the internal speaker got bent somehow or did the receiver grill suddenly clog? It perhaps dine other options. Any advice?
I need programm to turn off headset mic, headphones is not conected but its still showing its conected. Because off this speaker is not working also ringtone.

I droped my phone while it was hanging from my earphones and now every time I try to plug in any set of earphones into the phone it doesn't "click" and they always fall out of the phone. Any one know how to fix it?

I think you should try to send your phone to a repair center...
Not sure what kind of question this is. Your headphone jack is jacked. No pun intended. End of story.
