Does anybody else have problems with their phone outputting music to anything other than headphones? I have an external speaker and when I plug it into the headphone jack I get no sound from it but I still get sound on the phone speaker. I can plug in an FM transmitter to the headphone jack and I get nothing but sound on the phone speaker. But if I plug in a pair of headphones I get sound on them. This sucks as the new treadmill has speakers, jack, and the male to male plug necessary to plug my phone in. Any fixes for this?
Ey,so when I connect my heaphones the tablet reads them (they are connected) but no sound coming out of my headphones I tried different headphones but nothing I also checked for lint but the headphone jack is clean. It use to work perfectly, please help
Push the plug in more.
his right, I didn't realize you had to push the headphone in more. Almost returned it :3
Lately it is very hard to hear anyone during a phone call through the receiver. Oddly, the sound seems to be coming out of the headphone jack (with nothing plugged into it). I'm trying to figure out if the internal speaker got bent somehow or did the receiver grill suddenly clog? It perhaps dine other options. Any advice?
Hello. So my 3.5mm jack broke (got unglued from the motherboard) because i use my headphones while my phone is in my pocket. Before i went to an authorized service (not a xiaomi service, i live in Romania) i could make skype and regular calls without any problem. Now when i try to make a call with my headphones plugged in, the other person can't hear me, but i can hear them. The same thing applies when i plug in my aux in my car. Before of this incident i was able to talk to the other person through my aux cable in my car and they could hear me, but now only i can hear them and they can't. Without the heaphones plugged in everything is normal. Also i've noticed that i can hear myself talking in the headphones when i make the call. (weird)
The person that repaired the 3.5mm jack, said that i had 2 pins unglues from the motherboard, and he put the motherboard under a microscope and then glued them back. It looks like somehow the phone wants to use the mic in the headphones/aux. (but the headphones/aux don't have a mic). Any advices?
When I plug in my headphones to the HTC, it acknowledges that they are plugged in as the headphone symbol shows up but no sound comes when I play a video or a game. These headphones came with the phone too. BUT when I use these same headphones on my iPhone it works perfectly, so I know something is wrong with the HTC, not the headphones. Other headphones also don't work on the HTC. Only the HTC's inbuilt speakers work but no sound from headphones. Do anyone know how to fix this problem?

Could be your headphone jack. It may be possible to replace it yourself, or pay someone to do it for you.
Headphone jack, probably worn out or has crap in it clogging it up. Mine is still working well with headphones but no dice with my car headphone to aux cable. The cable is probably outdated. I have 3rd party headphones that worked well at first but now the microphone is acting up during calls and boomsound "glitches" on and off now and again. Headphones are in good - very good condition but I can't rule out an internal break in the wire.
I would be inclined to say that the m9 has sensitive electronics attached to the headphone jack and any short circuits or voltage/amperage/resistance discrepancies would be picked up to protect the rest of the sound system. Headphone jacks tend to arc too which is why you get a thump in speakers when you connect or disconnect the jack.
