Hi,
Just like to gather some ideas regarding using other charger for HTC One M8 with a little higher voltage that its normal charger.
I have a Nexus 7 2013 with 5.2V while the original HTC charger which came from the box is 5V only. I know that mAh will not have an effect with it's difference but I'm not sure about the voltage. Is it safe to use 5.2V charger on HTC One M8?
Thanks!

I have the Nexus 7 2013 charger plugged in next to where I sit on my sofa. I charge all my devices off it, including my HTC One M7 for the last year, and my HTC One M8 for the last week with no issues at all. :good:

Hi everyone i purchased new One X.
My brother has an LG P500.
They both have the same micro usb pin chargers.
Can i Use them interchangeably?
The P500 has output rating 5 V and .7 amps
while the One X has 5 V and 1 amps.
Its just that this would help me keep one charger safe in case when other one dies.
Obviously i wont use if there is some technical incompatibility b/w the ratings
EDIT:
Used the lower mA one. It works fine but charging toooo slow.
Now I charge my P500 using HTC one only.
Faster charging.
You can use it for charging yes.. It will charge slower though.
You could get some messages saying there is not enough current on the charger to keep the phone powered and charging at the same time.
This could happen when doing energy-intensive tasks with multi-core utilization.
Just for recharging, it shouldn't be a problem.
HTC say to use only their official chargers but generally you're fine to use any USB charger that follows the Battery Charging Specification and has the same voltage and is similar or better in current capacity. The statement to only use HTC chargers it just to cover HTC if you do decide to plug it into an off spec charger which damages the phone.
I use HP Touchpad chargers ([email protected]) as they're just generic USB chargers and I've got several spares. The phone is perfectly happy charging from it.

All manufacturers say that. But i always use whatever charger i have (nokia, sams ng etc). I just avoid using cheap chargers
I got the HTC One X about 3 weeks ago, loving the phone
However, there's something I noticed while using my portable charger. It has a 1A output, but when I'm charging my HTC One X with the 1A output, the Battery Indicator app shows that I'm charging with at USB instead of AC. I tried changing wires, nothing, so I deduce that it's the problem with my portable battery. Didn't have such a problem on my SGS2.
Anyway I was wondering if there is any portable chargers out there that can charge the HOX at AC instead of USB. Charging USB is so slow

On the CoreControl app found in this forum, my portable charger shows up as AC. Its called "sony CP-EL". Although, its output is 1A as well, and it charges at a normal pace for me, not too slow. Hope this helps

Got this today and happy to report it charges at full speed. I'm getting about 870ma, which is at least as good as the stock mains charger.

HTC cable is a data cable, could be your charger though I guess there is a "fix" you can do on YouTube to short the USB and force it to a charge cable.

Hello everybody,
I will soon get my Nexus 7 and want use it as a GPS. Now I am trying something really difficult in the World of iDevices still not having the standards applied.
I am searching for a dual USB charger cappable of fully charging (not just usb mode, but AC) both the Nexus 7 and my One X at the same time.
So it would need a 2.1A Output matching the Nexus 7 and a 1A for the One X...
All I found was some chargers mostly designed for iPad's and other iDevices...
Please help me if you know more than me
Thanks for your advices !! :fingers-crossed:

Car Charger and Cable from Deal Extreme 146751 Doesn't work in faster charging "AC" mode.
When we were on a trip I borrowed my friend's HTC One X charger to charge my CG and it had a faster charging time. After having a talk i realized that the One X charger has 1A output current while the original CG charger only has 0.7A. I Googled and found that some guys said the larger the input current, the faster your charging time is. So if I keep using a 1A charger for my CG, will it damage my battery ?
I'm using Android 4.2.2 on Roobox ROM
Thanks

I'm using the chargers with higher current all the time - had no issues with it. The phone charger, the laptop charger - no issues at all.
Your device should not be able to draw more current than it could handle. However, the charger won't get overheated and the charge may go faster.
Hello, im looking to buy a new htc adapter since my inlcuded one broke. I made a research for a QC Quick charge 2.0 one and i found those 2
HTC FAST CHARGER 15W TC5 P1000
And the official rapid charger
HTC Fast Charger 15W AC Adaptor TC P1000
Could someone tell me if its safe to buy the TC5 model or its older? Also both adapters output numbers are the same in specs... Only the design changes a bit. Due to the TC5 availability in my country id like to know if its a legitimate new charger.
Thanks in advance

Same version number, same model.
The same one.
Only two versions, with regional variances.
HTC Rapid Charger
and
HTC Fast Charger
