Get rid of Sprint

Hi guys, need some help.
If I switch carrier then phone automatically get bad Sprint ESN, right? If so, thats ok, because I dont want to use Sprint.
I've got Sprint L710 but I never used CDMA before, so little bit confused with how to get rid of that Sprint and make it work with Boost even w/o 4g.. perhaps 2g or 3g if possible. Or Virgin, doesn't really matter, the most important is prepaid plan w/o contract.
I'll make a root and even if then I install custom ROM then still will be using Sprint? Or after flashing custom ROM I can go to Boost and ask them to flash their codes?
Nobody else will help me, I hope for your understanding.

As far as I know. You won't get bad esn as long as you don't have any pending balances pending.
And if you pay the early termination fee.
But I'm not sure. As far as the s3 on another net work then it would have to be flashed with whatever company your gonna use it with.
But your probably better off just selling it on craugslist or eBay and buying an unlocked international version.

When I switched from ATT contract to TMobile prepaid I just unlocked phone, pulled out ATT sim card and go forward with TMobile. I didnt make any notifications to ATT, TMobile just transferred my number in few secs.
I mean how could I make same on CDMA? Could by example Cricket take my phone to their network? Is it possible to delete all related to Sprint from my phone, make it clean as from factory? And then come to Cricket or another CDMA carrier? In that case if I terminate Sprint contract without any notification I think ESN would be bad.

Well if your gonna flash the phone to another carrier like cricket. Then bad esn or clean esn don't matter. Just go into a cricket store and tell them you need to flash your phone and they'll put other on their network.

they should have a cricket store where they flash phones. Idk how the procedure is done, or how it affects the phones. But there might be something screwy with MMS, but you can always ask before you do it. and there might be a fix for that sort of stuff here at XDA

weird, down here where I'm at, they flash any phone really.
well if your S3 is just a brick there you can always sell it.
If the price is low enough i can buy it from you, or also ebay

They said that in New York area they flash only Cricket phones.
But even good, cause because of I that I got Verizon.

Flashing to Cricket?

Does anyone know if it is possible to flash this phone to cricket? A co worker managed to drop my phone and dented the edges (the same day my bumper arrived UGH) It's not a big deal but I'm a bit OCD on keep phones/electronics immaculate so I'm looking to flash and sell it and get a replacement. :victory:

seems programming via cdma ws/dfs works... but does anyone know how to read nv item 1192?

Any word on how to do this? I already have CDMA workshop and QPST as well as cricket prl but i have no idea how to do this phone?

Have you been able to flash to cricket? I got a LG and have no idea whats the process? also, can you share the Cricket PRL?

Could anybody who has flashed their ls-970 to Cricket take a second out and tell me how they activated it on Cricket? I see services online that will flash my phone to Cricket for $10, but Cricket staff said there is no way to activate a phone without a sim card. So how did any of you sign up to Cricket with your flashed phone without a sim card if Cricket says it can not be done?

Flash to page plus instead than and check out my thread on flashing to straight talk/page plus, be warned though, something changed up stream and people are having difficulty getting data, even 1x

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S3 flashed to cricket all works but no internet

Hello I have a Sprint Galaxy S3 that I had flashed to cricket. My father had an old utstarcom phone with a clean esn so I flashed that esn to my s3 and called cricket and added a line to the account my father has with his kyocera phone. I chose the 45 dollar plan for my self and got the phone working as for as talk text and mms. I can not get any kind of internet connection except wifi. I have tried to go to update prl and profile but I get error code 407 or something like that. I followed the guide from cricketusers but cant get any help there. Can any one please point me in the right area to get internet on my s3 or tell me what I need to do, I have DFS Demo and cdma Workshop full version and qpst. Thanks anyone.

You're on the wrong rate plan. You have to be on a $50 a month or higher Android/Smartphone rate plan to get the web to work on your flashed device. You also have to make sure that the phone "Model" on your account is set to Kyocera M6000 for the best experience. Also, I would be careful with swapping the ESN from a different phone to your S3, as that is illegal and you can be fined for doing that.
I am a flash tech with Cricket in my town and I have the same phone flashed. You can follow this tutorial here: http://www.cricketusers.com/cdma-sa...galaxy-s3-cricket-talk-text-mms-internet.html It's pretty simple if you follow the instructions carefully, but I would try to change your plan first then pull the battery and restart the phone and see if maybe it'll start working. If the programming is right and you have MMS, then you should just have to change plans, but I could be wrong there.

I got everything working with the $45 plan also got the esn updated to the phone itself. I have talk, text, web, mms everything, Found the answer on another site.

Glad you got it working. Just curious, what are your web speeds? If you're not on an Android rate plan you're only getting 1x speeds, which is why I noted you were on the wrong one.

hithete, I am haveing the same no internet issue. on the correct plan. galaxy S3 L710 runnin JB 4.1.2. talk an text only. no mms either yet. any info would be greatly appreciated.

Working method for E4GT to straight talk.

Will the walmart CDMA activation kit work on the Sprint E4GT? I checked the website with the MEID and it says its compatible but I want to be certain and get some verification first. Or is there a way to flash it to straight talk that doesn't involve cloning? I would appreciate any information that will bring some clarity, I can't find anything specific enough to say either way.
