How is this possible? I've tried to read through a few tutorials for it, but they were mainly geared towards MetroPCS and I didn't fully understand it. Can anyone help me out?
not going to happen.
Boost = iDen network
They have a CDMA network through Sprint as well.
Anyone? I know it's possible since others are doing it, I just don't know how.
I've seen it done before, seriously no one is going to tell you how to do it, you'll have to search yourself, I've tried to do EVO on Verizon, it's been done, there is nobody who will give me a step by step because it's how you do you say not traditional to do this. Sorry man I am no help. just google it. you'll find better results.

I've been searching for a few hours, I cannot figure out how to do it.
Someone else was just asking about this. I posted a link to a guide there. That might get you started.

Thanks for the advice, but I'm not sure if that would work. That tutorial is several months old, and no one ever tried it for the Evo or as far as I can tell any Android phone.
Honestly, there is no easy way to do it. That link I gave you is by far the easiest way to do it, but like you said, no one has confirmed that it works on the EVO. The method is not OS specific however, so it shouldn't matter that you are using Android.
Since you are trying to get your EVO on Boost, I assume you already have a boost account, so why not try it? If you don't already have an account then you should probably give up because the cost and expertise required to do this might not be worth it to you.
If you are not afraid of highly technical and highly illegal work, then I suggest you start researching how to clone the esn of the boost phone you already own.
I do not own a boost phone yet, I'm interested in this because of the cheap pay as you go plans. .30c per day for unlimited data is pretty nice, in my opinion. As towards the cloning the MEID, IF I were to do this, would everything work correctly such as gps, web, voice, etc?
Everything should work correctly, except for some sprint apps, but I haven't tried it so I can't say for sure. From what I've read it won't work on pay as you go, you have to buy the $50/month unlimited plan.
Sprint ETF + Cheapest unlimited Boost phone = $200+80= $280
You would save $20/month with boost, so after 2 years the total savings versus keeping your Sprint account would be only about $200 max. Not worth the hassel in my opinion, but maybe having no contract is worth it to you.
Ah, that sucks. If I could get it on the pay as you go it would definitely be worth it.
Open the original phone in QPST (Service Programming)
Open the cloned phone in QPST (Serivce Programming)
Go tab by tab and try to match everything us as much as possible
if the cloned phone has a feature enable in Service Programming I've learned best to just ignore it and only clone everything from the original phone
Okay after that... what to do.. You need to get your HAA and AA keys copied over, I have the steps to do that as well in QXDM but the htc Hero doesnt seem to work with these steps or the vx9100 that I have... so the only way I can get it to work it to put a different phone on your network, then turn off the original phone and turn on the clone and then transfer the clone back on to your network, when you change the phone back and *228 it, it will write the Secret keys needed to get data,
and last but not least you need to get a prl that is made for your network. I have the latest prepaid prl for verizon.
If anyone can tell me how to fix my PRI that would be great!
What the possibility of flashing an epic to work properly on vz? I see it can be done on cricket....I'm not worried about Verizon having the meid in the system....anyone out there do this? Thanks

Why is it you're not worried about Verizon having the MEID in their system? That is all you should be worried about. If it is not in their system, they will not allow the device on their network.
I can have it added.....so back to my original question.......can it be done??
I'm sure there's a way, you just won't have 4g. May need msl. Just use getprop to get it
Of course its Possible i have did for 2 Carriers in India why not Verizon, get your MEID added and be in touch be me.

If you can have it added then I think you're going to have to find out through trial and error, as not many have that kind of access. Let us know how it goes.
if i could do it id take my epic to verizon how do i do it!

Make a donation to suzook to get added to the system, lol.
As far as I know, I remember some people said they could call in and say they were an Alltel orphan - but since it's been a while since the merger I doubt that still works.
need a link
i have it on vz network, talk and text work fine, but data is a no go, i have tried the same methods for cricket...but stillno go. im hoping someone can point me in the right direction
Verizon won't stop you from using a Sprint phone, but they won't help you, either. Assuming the software radio itself isn't the problem, you're basically going to have to wait until there are AOSP kernel and Android builds for both the Epic and Fascinate, then figure out how they differ and hack an Epic build to incorporate the changes in the Fascinate build. Then copy over Verizon's own apps for things like voicemail.
If you need a new radio, all bets are off. AFAIK, radio firmware signed with Verizon's key won't install on a phone expecting Sprint's cert, and vice-versa. Unlike Android itself, the radio firmware is very, very encryption-locked, because it's basically impossible to get a phone with software radio past the FCC if it's not (unless you're only planning to sell it to licensed ham radio operators, and have the means to enforce it). I'm not sure whether it was possible to reflash Sprint WinMo phones to work on Verizon because the radios used the same firmware, because the radio firmware was signed by HTC in both cases, or because someone found a way to defeat the protection.
You'll probably have better luck if you try to get 1xRTT working before EVDO. I believe there's a small difference between the way Sprint and Verizon's EVDO works (one that's entirely due to software and not insurmountable, but might be the reason why Sprint phones doing data roaming on Verizon seem to be limited to 1xRTT, assuming it's not just a business decision by Verizon and/or Sprint to allow Sprint users to only roam at 1xRTT.
Has anyone been able to solve this? I have my epic for sale or trade for a verizon phone with no offers... So I'm curious if I can just take it to verizon with me.. since its bad ass..
I fixed the data not working on an epic flashed to cricket by changing the msl to 000000 and dialing *228 so maybe try that. If you can manage to find a cool vzw tech rep get them to go into switch view in acss, go to the data section and uncheck the box that requires validated shared secret data for data use. I would help you myself but I no longer work there. Directv has better benefits I wish you the best of luck bro.

if someone has a phone active already, they can extract the shared secret and write it to the Epic.
No radio firmware or ROM will make it work or not work.
lots of sprint phones are active on PagePlus. They will activate almost any CDMA device. PagePlus is a vzw MVNO.
I've said enough.. any more might be breaking the rules
I'm tryin to figure out how to do the whole entire thing from the beginning.

we're not allowed to discuss that here. it's against XDA rules.
I'm sure there are many here that could give you a description of what needs done via PM or something, but we can't discuss it in the open forum.

It suddenly became against the rules to discuss using phones on different carriers? This is no different from discussing bringing a T-Mobile phone to AT&T and making things work -.- Sure there's no SIM card in this discussion and the technology is different, but that's it.
It is not against the rules. Only making a phone with a bad esn work is.
But this is a question and belongs in Q&A

but what I've done to make it works for our carrier in Indonesia was back to EC05 bml stock rom then googling about cdma workshop & qpstn then applied them to your epic with Verizon parameters
It appears this can be done, but I could really use a How To guide, which I have not been able to locate in my searches thus far.
I've been looking around for this, too. My friend got his incredible flashed for him by a 3rd party, but had to pay 80 bucks. I'm betting its not that hard.
From what I understand, you may have to buy a temp phone through straight talk and then flash that phone's ESN to your Incredible, but I may have that all wrong.

That is basicly correct. You need a CDMA Straight Talk phone. You can tell if its CDMA because the phones model number will end with a C. Then you need to use a pc program called QPST to flash the ESN of the Straight Talk phone to your incredible, along with all the CDMA and data settings. I have never done it but have been really thinking about it since vzw came out with there new share everything bs. I have been researching and i think in november when my contracts up im going to try it.
so how do i use this in like DFS or some other windows app like that... i want to pull aaa shared from it... any thing will help i tryed 4 different ways to that..
Not sure if the subject has been brought up before but basically, I have a Straight Talk S3 and would like to know if it's possible to essentially turn it into a Sprint S3 via software. I have been trying to actually flash the phone to nTelos, a regional carrier. I have cut through all the red tape and made it grab a COM port, and managed to acquire the SPC code. However when I flash it the same way I would flash a sprint model on the same 4.1.2 software, the PRL reverts to Straight talk after a reboot.
I've already gutted the phone and found that the board is indeed labelled SPH-L710. Just a Sprint board with different software, which seems to reject flashing. So I'm wondering what would have to be done to kick the Straight Talk software out and force Sprint software into it?
Bump...any idea from anybody?
I have searched for info on how to use this phone on Straight Talk, but have only seen differing solutions involving paying Straight Talk $15 to add the ESN into their system or having someone remotely flash/modify the phone to enable activation.
Is there a way you can do this yourself for either free or at a lower cost if comfortable with either software flashing or hardware modding or do you really have to pay Straight Talk and still flash/modify the phone? If I remember correctly the phone was last used on Verizon Wireless and when anything is dialed it has the Verizon Wireless female voice, if that changes any of the above procedures.
Current Phone Specs:
Baseband Version L900VPUCOH3
Build Number KOT49H.L900VPUCOH3
