Try copying all your pictures from external to internal sdcard for a
test to see if you have normal speed that way, if so you may simply
have a slow external sdcard, after copying the pictures remove the
external sdcard, reboot the phone and see if the speed is normal.
(do the above if your pictures are on external sd card right now)
Good luck!
thank you. just put back to factory and getting a new one.

just the other day my evo kept wanting to reboot over and over at the sprint 4g splash screen. i wiped it clean and it worked....so i thought. now i can't open the photo gallery or my music player due to it forceclosing. last night just about everything was forceclosing. i did another battery pull and now just the photo gallery and the music won't open.
any suggestings? any help will be greatly appreciated!
thanks in advance
Back up any information you need. Wipe and re-flash.
i figured that would be my next option. thanks
you shoulda tried just flashing your current Rom over your broken Rom, sometimes it fixes fc without having to wipe
Hmm, how many boards will I read this post on today....
Something is screwed up with your SD Card. Remove it, reboot. Remove any widgets that require something from your SD card (skins etc)

I was thinking the same LOL.
I was running uncommon sense v1.1 up until last week. A few weeks ago the camera stopped saving photos to the gallery. A few days ago I was playing with new roms and discovered my camera worked fine on a stripped sense rom. Well, I didn't like the rom and now I've got my Skyraider Vanilla all set up except for ive encountered the same camera problem again.
I've tried clearing caches and data in both camera and gallery. Pulling out my battery and rebooting, and nothing is working.
Any help would be appreciated.
Where were your pictures originally getting saved to? If they were going to the emmc, they may now be getting saved to the SD card.
they were getting saved into my DCIM in the SD card. I've formatted my SD card but still no luck. I wipe data and cache every time i get a new rom.
wait, do you mean that the camera doesn't work (black screen/wont take pictures) or that you take a picture, go into the gallery and it isn't showing up.
If its the 2nd, have you tried going though the sd card/emmc with astro or another file manager and see if you can find it manually?

2nd.
Yes, and I've connected my phone as a disc drive and open the folder on my desktop and the folder is empty.

both the sdcard/DCIM/100media and emmc/DCIM/100media folders are empty?
I would flash back to the newest stock OTA and see if it works, if not... i'm not really sure. Maybe take it back to verizon and get a replacement???

Yes. And like I said, I don't think they're going to help me since I'm rooted and running a different ROM. I just don't understand how I can go from one rom and the camera doesn't work to another sense rom where it works perfectly to this rom which I actually want to stay with but the camera doesn't work again.

what sense rom are you talking about where the cam doesn't work...it could be that the camera is still a broken feature on that rom or a different kernel needs to be flashed
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Note: I originally posted this on AndoridCentral, but ran out of help over there.. Hoping the brilliant folks at XDA could help me Here is a link to my original thread if you are interested: http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...t-me-access-most-folders-via-usb-gallery.html
This originally happened on June 29th when the Vicious Liquid Rom (for CDMA/Verizon) came out. - I flashed the jellybean Rom when it came out, and have been having this problem. When I connect my phone via USB, I can only see about 5 folders, most are missing. Also, when I go to my gallery through my phone, my photos do not show up, but when I use root explorer or ES File Explorer, I can find them that way and access them. I've tried turning on/off USB debugging a billion times.
They are all still on my phone.. It shows my phone has 3.5 gigs of free space (so obviously, it's mostly used up)....
I can only see 6 folders:
Pictures
Notifications
MNT
Download
DCIM
After Focus
I also figured out that I can load the files onto my computer using ADB, so Ioaded all of my photos/videos off. A few days ago, I decided to try the Bugless Beast Rom, so I did a full wipe, and the same thing is happening. Also, I can not see any of the photos I took from the Vicious Liquid Rom, only the photos I have taken since I flashed the newest rom.

Anyone? Bueller?
happened to me, Use nandroid back up. The ext/sd is somehow corrupted.
This has been discussed before and nobody has a definite answer/fix for us.
Couple of threads on the matter

My post on Bixie's ROM thread, there's a couple of suggestions afterwards
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28254742#post28254742
Seems like it has to do with the fact that a new mount point is created ( /sdcard0 ) and therefore /sdcard is not being mounted which is where all the media has been previously stored.
Good luck and let us know of your progress if any
I've tried everything.. Do you think it would fix by me putting the phone back to stock (locking and unroot) and then unlocking and rooting again?
EDIT: Yes, it worked. I had to unload all my photos and everything.. then I re-locked and unrooted.. The locked and unrooted again and re-flashed Jellybean.. All is well.
I've been using a ROM on my ATT Galaxy S3 that has been acting weird; maps force closing, black screens constantly, apps freezing for extended periods of time, and I want to start fresh. I'm going on a road trip for the holidays and would really like to use maps as they were intended.
I wiped all my personal data but there are still some pictures showing up in gallery and some app folders that didn't get deleted. My understanding is that this is all on the internal SD card. Is the ROM itself (AOKP 4.1.2) on the internal SD card also? If I were to go into CWM and format the internal sd would I lose everything and would the phone be unable to boot or would I be able to simply re-flash the ROM? if i were to put the new ROM on an external SD card would i be able to go back into CWM and flash it from there?
If I'm missing something feel free to correct me or point me in the right direction (a guide would be ideal). I've searched on various sights and can't find exactly what I'm looking for, everything seems a little vague.
Thanks a bunch and Happy Holidays.
Wiping your sdcard probably won't fix anything. Try this
Download the latest versions of your ROM, gapps and if you choose a kernel. Go into recovery backup your current setup, factory reset, wipe data, cache, and dalvik. Flash new ROM, gapps. Boot it up then boot back into recovery. Fix permissions. Then you should be good.
Brilliant. It looks like that fixed all my problems thus far; no flickers, no black screens, maps are working.
Thanks again, hope you have a good holiday.

No problem you too
So I recently decided to try and flash a custom ROM onto my phone. It all worked ok (I had originally flashed Cyanogenmod) but I decided to try out another ROM. so I proceeded to flash the latest Carbon nightly. This however did not go so well; most things were broken and so I decided to go to a previous backup of Cyanogen. This was when I noticed that my SD card was not working correctly. If I plug it into my laptop, I can view the SD card no problem. I have tried to revert to a backup but that didn't work. While I was trying to fix this by myself, in all my stupidity I wiped the SD card, thinking that it might fix it. Needless to say that I was wrong, and now I have lost all my backups but one (the on that I saved to my laptop).
So my question really is, what steps do I need to take in order to fix this. This is my first post so I don't know what information to give you. Please, if I have omitted any important information, tell me in a comment.
EDIT: I just realised that my camera and flashlight also do not work. But this might be a side affect.
Thank you to anyone who can help,
Gnxela

You say that u are able to view the sd card in computer. Copy the ROM zip of the previous cyanogenMod u were using and the relevant gapps to the sd card. Flash the ROM in the usual way and it shud work.. right...??

Hopefully, but I used a backup (before I wiped them) and it was still broken. I'll try what you have suggested anyway when I'm free. Thanks for the response.
