OGP is about 1 year old and the last week or so I have been getting random reboots. All apps that were put on in that time period have been removed. Unless I pull the battery it will keep rebooting. Suggestions?

Same thing has happened to me! I have been eliminating apps one by one. I am stock ROM rooted using some closed modules.

It might be the battery. About three months ago I was having the same problem on the 4.1.2 stock rom, rooted, and had xposed module on it. I used the .tot files to go back to stock and I still had random reboots. Tried different roms from Cm 11 to a the e986 roms to, but continued to have the random reboots.
After a while, I realized that it was past a certain battery percent that it would reboot randomly, so I bought a refurbished battery on Amazon and have never had random reboots ever since. That's just my phone though, and a suggestion if you're have similar problems as my phone.
I will keep an eye on that. Thanks.

I think I have to agree with this. I had a zero lemon battery pack and switched back to stock and reboots stopped.

I haven't seen any random reboots yet. Knock on wood.

Did you restore anything with Titanium Backup from a phone that had a different resolution or different family of CPU?
I've had mine for 3 weeks, 1 week unrooted and 2 weeks rooted with no reboots. I would take it back! When you pay $300 for a piece of hardware, it should work properly.

I've had this happen 2-3 times, but it's always happened while using chrome. Anyway, it reboots SO fast that I could really care less lol

Stock root, no random reboots.
Im bone stock and I think mine had something to do with Tapatalk updating while I was using it.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
had it since release.. no reboots...stock for one week, rooted and jellybombed now
I had CWM and installed a few roms. It never wiped the data correctly so I ended up getting reboots all day long. Installed TWRP and did a full factory reset then installed my ROM of choice. No reboots so far (been 24 hours).
Good luck
I got the phone two days ago and I've had no reboots on the phone day I got it. Today the phone reboots randomly. It's happened at least five times already. I've tried a factory reset via twrp and it still didn't help.
I'm rooted and on stock LJC. No overclock or underclock.
Haven't had a random reboot either.

Haven't had a reboot since I got it. Rooted and Jellybomb since day 1 too.
I'm stock non-rooted and have had 2 reboots as well.
Stock and never had a single reboot since launch day.
It doesn't seem to matter what rom I'm on my phone randomly just shuts down about five times a day. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Thanks!

What roms have you tried and what are you using now? You did a clean installation right? Factory reset, wipe cache, and dalvik cache?
What did you do before this happened?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Yes I always do a clean install system wipe, factory reset, clear cache etc. I've used about every Rom I think... the only one I can remember not having this issue was darthstalker x1. Right now I'm on stockaroma version 2 and it happens all the time. I even odined back to stock and reflashed and it still happens. I like multi window a lot so I hate to go backwards.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Have you tried to Odin back to stock and NOT flash a Rom?
If not, give it a shot and let us know.
Also, it could be your battery has finally given its last. If you don't know someone with an s3 go to a T-Mobile store and they should have one you can test with.

Now that I think of it, I'd get the battery checked before flashing anything else.

Yes when I was on stock it actually shut down during the first boot. I did notice that after flashing cyanogenmod 10.1 I charged it all night and it was at 100% charge but as soon as I unplugged it then it instantly dropped to like 10% that only happened once though. I guess maybe my battery it's jacked...
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Are they able to check batteries at T-Mobile? I'd hate to buy a new one they're pricy if that's the case I might as well pick up a gs4.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
They should have a known good one you can try. Plug it in and see if the reboots quit. No idea if they'd let you borrow it for a day, but I don't see why not.
If it dropped that quick though, I'm pretty confident that it's related.

it could also be that you need to clear the battery stats, my brother in law has had that issue many times after flashing CM on several different devices, but it could still be a jacked battery, am a licensed electrician and i can tell you while it does happen often for me because we buy so many products (obviously) that we get bad items directly from the manufacturer.
How can I clear the battery stats? I used to do this all the time under advance in clockwork recovery but I don't see it there on this phone. Thanks!

So the battery didn't help at all. Just for fun I flashed darthstalker X1 again and it seems to be working fine now. Weird... I'll try to get to the bottom of this but I'm boggled.

One more thing it was doing was when I'd turn the screen off it would always come back on. It would do that two or the times before it would stay off then half the time the phone crashed. It's not doing that now either and I had that trouble on several different roms.

When you say resetting I assume you mean the phone restarts. You could start with trying your stock battery. If you've not already done so you can go to the Amazon zero lemon Q&A page and post your question (tried to post the link but I am not allowed because I am a new user).
My guess is it's the battery, and if so send it in for a replacement before the 180 days is up.
I have used after market batteries. . ran pretty good at 1st and after few months the random power downs start. .I just bought a Samsung brand battery oem with the dock charger and works great and holds charge longer as well.

What the hell happened? The phone became almost unresponsive for no reason whatsoever. No new app caused this. Had to reboot. Everything was fine after. The "bug" ate almost 20% of my battery. Although it regained a few percent after. Maybe it knows Google dropped support on it lol. Veryncurious.
I'm on stock 4.3, rooted.

Nope. Everything's stock.
Was it just a weird bug or did this happen to anyone before?
This KitKat update is complete crap, it's ruined a number of things on my device and added NOTHING. A week ago I was 100% satisfied with my Note 3, I could keep it forever on 4.3. Is it possible to go back? I'm stock, not-rooted.
If you took the ota, then no.

I took it OTA, it gave me no choice. I kept postponing the installation and then it eventually forced me to reboot my phone and there was nothing I could do to stop it.

I just switched to T Mo last week and got a new Note 3 and being stupid, I went for Kit Kat update right away, now after two Note 3's, i'm still having a shiaty time with my new phone, especially the battery life. This really, and utterly sucks!! can't even go back to 4.3 no matter what unless I exchange phone a 3rd time!!

I've noticed a lot of different things with the processor. After on for a little while randomly some of the CPUs will activate did not sleep, normally cpu0 stays on all the time but cpu1-3 turn off to save battery, and at the same time the minimum frequency would get stuck at 1.95... When you reboot everything would reset back to the minimum of 300 mhz and the CPUs would sleep as normal

Really glad I stayed on 4.3 after hearing a lot of these horror stories mentioned in several threads. I had no intention of taking the OTA or Odin anyways just because I read a couple weeks before on a site that kitkat 4.4.2 was messing with how it handles the external sdcard and apps.
There's mixed reports of good/bad battery life on 4.4.2 and if the new bootloader really makes a difference yet, all I can say to those that did jump the gun or didn't know any better is things will get better as devs iron out the bugs and create custom kernels/roms to help you guys out. Does it suck waiting for all this.. hell yes it does but we have all been there before and just know you are in the right place here at XDA because these devs and members are here to help us all out thru hard times.
