LG brand has not announced anything about the LG G3 Smartphone. However, this device will have Bluetooth SIG upgraded version that has available in the recent Smartphone LG-F460S of LG. reports of the previous leak of LG-F460L model number; this can be the same device of LG G3 from the brand.
However, the leaked LG Smartphone has shown the features of the model number including LTE modem and Snapdragon 805 chipset. On the other hand, LG G3 has not any features that are included in the leak of LG-F406L model. For that reason, this can also be assumed that we are going to have the upgraded Smartphone of LG indeed. Moreover, this is no confirmation that we are getting premium version of features in LG G3 than the previous Smartphone or not.
There is no doubt that LG is working hard to present the most awesome features in all Smartphones of the brand. But, the upgradability of LG G3 is not coming to the end of the new features because it needs to upgrade the chipset of the Smartphones. While LG G3 is using Snapdragon 801 chipset, it will upgrade chipset level on it upcoming Smartphones.
What do you think guys?

This has been talked about numerous times on here. If it's released, it will most likely be in Korea only.

Is that a big deal though? Plenty of sites were selling the Korea LG G3 when it was only released in Korea. The only issue I could see is the exclusion of local LTE bands. I think using HSPA+ only would be a decent sacrifice in order to get optimal GPU performance for a QHD display

LTE bands, warranty, and US carrier versions are cheaper
but of course, if you can live without those things then sure, go for a Korean version

Just wanted to let everyone know that Bell is stating their LG Optimus LTE is actually the LG P930 Nitro HD (as per the box and the internal OS). Seems to be a bit of confusion on the 'Net. Anyone able to figure this out? Comparison??? Bell vs. AT&T
Doesn't seem to be any sort of a huge difference? Seems basically the same to me other than a few things.
Confusion?
The Optimus LTE is heavier, lacks the extra 2 GB ram, adds the 1700MHz spectrum so it is compatible with WIND, comes with only an 8GB TF SDHC card, no fm radio. some are big differences i would think?
if you go LG.com, it listed Optimus LTE p930 same as Nitro p930.
specs?
If you look, the P930 has different specs than the LTE specs listed all over the 'Net. hence why i started this [Q] to clear up the 2 models conflicting with what Bell is sending out to customers vs. AT&T's Nitro HD P930.
My original [Q] is still unanswered: Bell is handing out the Optimus LTE 4G with boxes and firmware showing it is a P930, yet the specs for the P930 are different from what they are handing out. Which is the right P930??? Bell's or AT&T's?
There ARE differences. see my previous post for them.

Sorry little off topic what the hell happened to your phones lol. some are kia and others exploded.
BOOM?!
Little off topic is true. maybe he's had bad luck or bad units or the zerglings got him?
Going off topic/the record, I have had the worse luck when it comes to phone this year.
-Atrix sorta burst into a tiny flame while charging
- 1st BB drowned, 2nd had faulty keys and the 3rd one permanently froze
- Whatever bugs/defects that were reported with the Sensation, happened to me
- The Torch and Bold basically died and wouldnt charge or turn on.
Thankfully, I have the PEP plan from Best Buy <3. Technically saved me over $3000 haha

Wow, that's interesting. I knew they had differences in software but I didn't think they had some differences in hardware too, considering that they call the Optimus LTE a Nitro HD. Does my Nitro HD have a radio/FM antenna? How does one go about using it?

Optimus LTE and LG Nitro is the same phone! both phone listed as P930 on lg.com !
optimus lacks the extra 2gb ram? on my nitro, it listed Internal storage available space 1.53GB. i not even sure nitro has 4gb to begin with.
so nitro has fm radio? the nitro never comes with headset (att is getting cheap! haha) and there is no FM app preinstalled on Nitro!
Bell vs AT&T
Check out GSMArena. They have both phones listed and they are different. One is manufactured for Bell Canada and one is manufactured for AT&T. "They are different". The AT&T model has a radio with RDS the Bell one has no radio.. The AT&T model has only the one "LTE 700" frequency. the Bell has 700 and 1700. AT&T has 4 gig but Bell only 2 gig. Bell Canada LTE is rated at 75 Mbps, AT&T 21 max. There may be other differences. Check the site for yourself and see.
I am still debating which new phone to purchase and leaning to the LG. My current phone does not have the worlds greatest battery life so not getting a full day out of the LT is not a major concern. And talking for three hours,I don't think so.

you know how to check out gsmarena but not att.com, lg.com or get the Nitro user manual from lg.com?? radio is never mentioned on nitro!
just cus it' on gsmarena, it must be accurate?
att version maxed out at 21mb? is there such a thing as LTE maxed out 21mb? haha
21mb is hspa+
I just did a speedtests on nitro and get 27mb!
not exactly reliable sources...
If your phone doesn't say "AT&T" above the screen, then you're getting the Optimus LTE. Only AT&T has the Nitro HD (name wise), and unless they're gonna bother switching out the glass/digitizer, you didn't get the nitro hd.
New Thread for Optimus LTE??
So based on each carriers website, and the manufacturer admitting they are different models, would it be out of line to start a separate thread for the LTE P930 vs. the Nitro P930 and set the naming convention to differentiate between the two models and XDA support?
Can a Mod give their input on this please??? I am just trying to clarify this before this thread gets bloated with unnecessary posts that will eventually lead to confusion and eventually blurs the line between the two models and set up some sort of clarity for future posts and support...

dude, it doesn't even matter. The Nexus S had i9023, i9020t, and i9020A and they coexist fine. The difference in radio(freq) just means you can't put out roms that changes the baseband.
don't you mean the fact the Optimus LTE has only 2GB of internal memory vs. 4GB of internal memory on the Nitro is also a large difference as well as the lack of the dual LTE frequencies vs the Nitro? or do we need to go further into the other hardware differences (ie: screens etc?)
I want to upgrade from my S2 to a new phone. I love the Nexus4, BUT, has no SD slot, and you can not even order one.
So, I was thinking on the Optimus G. Now, my question for all of you with the handset is, would you still buy it today?
One important thing for me is "hackability", meaning, I want to run clear/custom roms on it, as I do not like bloatware.
In that regard, the S2 is wonderful, and we already have JB 4.2.1 running very smoothly.
Why I'm interested on the Optimus G? As far as I understand is VERY similar to the Nexus 4, and so I assume it would be easy to have roms ported from it.
So, what are your thoughts?
As for today, thats the best phone on market, but its mid of January already, so a new/better models will come out really soon.
Thanks Tim4, for your response.
Lets forget that a new one would probably come out soon, would you still buy it considering all the I said, specially the hackability request?
Tough to say as there is currently development towards more solid bootloader and rooting options but who knows how it will all pan out. Same goes with roms, there is not a lot yet so who knows.
I am rooted and have frozen/uninstalled the apps that I don't want on the device so for me this is good enough. The phone itself is fantastic and I'm very pleased with it, even without JB. But yes, news phones like s4 and xperia z will give the g a run for it if not beat it outright, but regardless of that this phone is a beast.

Well, to put you in context, I went and bought a Razr MAXX. In brief, very poor roms support, so I sold it after 2 days.
There are too many versions for Optimus G, US has E970, Canadian has 971,973, Korean has their version, also the international version E975 might gonna come out soon. ROM development might takes longer I think. At least we gotta wait until LG release the 4.1.2 JB in order to have more JB ROMs
About the phone. I had the S II too, I loved it. I think Optimus G has even better design, and of course more powerful.
Running great on CM10.1, I believe it will be even better when LG comes out the JB source.
So, if you likes the phone, how it looks, then go for it.

I want the AT&T version E970, cause it is compatible with my country 3G bands, unless all have the same bands, or are quad band or something, or unless there is a problem with the E970 one.
You coming from the S2, do you think his battery last longer? How much longer? I'm asking cause I realized that the battery is non removable, and I'm always about 2 to 4 hours short on the S2.
Thanks!
The E973 already has a near perfect CyanogenMod 10.1 port, AOKP 4.2.1 build and of course an unlocked boot loader and can be rooted. So I'm pretty happy with this, especially since the big two are already on board. Team Nocturnal is also working on this phone.

Compare to S II, the battery on Optimus G (E971) is a lot longer. For S II, I used to bring 2 extra batteries with me just in case, but now with OG I don't need to bring my extreme battery.
I would say around 30-40% more.
On both stock and CM10.1

USA/Korea/Canada/Japan and may be AUS the only countries optimus g available in.
Btw some guy asked LG about the international version, and he was told it definitely will out in Q1

Well, I'm mostly interested on the E970 or E971 versions, as the 3G is compatible with my country, the E973 is not. How is the root/roms/etc on those?
By the way, this table is correct?
LG Optimus G E970
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100
4G Network LTE 700 MHz Class 17 / 1700 / 2100
LG Optimus G E971 (Rogers)
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100
4G Network LTE 700 / 2600
LG Optimus G E973 / LG F180
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 900 / 2100
4G Network LTE ???

The advantage is more users will use optimus g = more developers will appear here = more custom roms will be available
Make the move bro! I went from the S2 to the AT&T Optimus G, originally i was going to upgrade to the overrated S3 or wait on the S4(but found out rumors saying screen size is 4.99inch which is too big and rocking Exynos Octa Core which i doubt we'd need and delay of how long USA would get a version) But a nice rep from AT&T store recommended the OG, and i have to say is i am blown away with the looks and performance of the device. The only deal breaker is the lack of accessories like an OEM car dock and non-removable but sooner or later everyone will transistion to non removable battery. Yes the LGOG is lacking ROM Dev, but i know that this is a fairly new device, give it a couple weeks to a few months and development will go crazy!
I never looked back, yes the S2 was a slamming device even up to now, but i needed to update and the OG is good enough rocking the first Quad Core CPU with LTE bands
This phone is simply amazing. Screen is beautiful, absolutely no lags on heavy multitasking, good battery, lte.. Even on mostly stock rom, simply the best phone to get into my hands. The screen, man.. The screen And the fluidity.. - - It is a joy to use, still looks like a (sexy, classy, sleek) phone compared to the galaxy note 2's size, exemple.
Did I mention the amazing screen, and the fluidity of animations + browsing?

Dear Friends,
I am a US consumer. About to buy a Verizon LG G3. My number # 1 priority in a phone is, more of less development support for a phone. Number of ROMs being developed, how many choices, mods, frequent updates, and etc.
Clearly, the International version D855 is the King. Number 2 is probably D851, the T-Mobile US Variant with the Unlocked bootloader. International versions are expensive and hard to find in America and it's more or less the same for the T-Mobile version.
I browsed the Development section for all G3 variants on XDA, and surprisingly, the number 3 variant is the Verizon, US Model! Which is fine by me, because it can be unlocked and used on AT&T and I am moving to Verizon soon, for the better coverage and LTE speeds.
I am lined up to pull the trigger on buying the Verizon G3, as we speak, but I need some help confirmation from you guys:
1. Is it true, that with the BUMP'd/TWRP recovery, the Verizon G3 is as good as the Unlocked bootloader models, like D851 and D855? If not, what is the difference, disadvantage?
2. How would you rate the Development support for the Verizon variant of the LG G3?
Thank you for your help! I have the seller lined up, please respond as soon as you can, I would really appreciate it!

you should post this on a verizon / att development since that's what you're mainly going to be at. This is only for t mobile variant. I don't think know people would know about verizon since we don't own that... On another note, there isn't tons of development because in my opinion the phone with a few tweaks is awesome.
Hi everyone.
Thinking of jumping off the Samsung Galaxy series in favour of the G3 DUAL SIM LG smartphone...
Does an Aussie here on XDA currently use the DUAL SIM G3 model D856 or D858HK (with 3GM RAM and 32GB memory)?
If so, can you please report back on the following:
- Fastest 4G speeds on SIM 1 - who is your carrier?
- Fastest Internet speeds on WIFI - and what is your home line speed?
- I don't believe it does, but does either of these 2 models support wireless charging? (Not referring to AUS model D855 that does)
- Rate it / 10 in terms of comfort & ease of use? (5.5" doesn't sit well with me, might as well be a tablet, but is at its max I'd consider USEABLE)
- Where did you buy from? How long ago? Do you remember what you paid?
- Any current deals for it now?
- Make note of your FAVOURITE/BEST feature?
- Make note of the WORST feature on the phone?
- Have you rooted the phone? What modifications have you made to improve usability / battery etc?
I really like dual SIM capability, more RAM and internal storage...but I dislike the fact that only the AUS model (D855) will work on Telstra carrier 4GX band of 700mhz...but thankfully the international models work on 1800MHz 4G, with the D856 appearing to having more 4G band capability. I am also tossing up between whether or not to wait for the G4. Any thoughts and feedback would be appreciated.

Best if you ask this on whirlpool. But with regards to you other questions
- Where did you buy from? How long ago? Do you remember what you paid? I would highly suggest you get it from Kogan instead of a no name third party seller just for piece of mind when it comes to dealing with warranty and with logistics etc etc
- Any current deals for it now? Not that i know of
- Make note of your FAVOURITE/BEST feature? Dual Window
- Make note of the WORST feature on the phone? Its battery life
Trying to answer your question, since I had D858 and I am using D855 now,
-D858 no wireless charging, "quick circle" case is different than D855, no SlimPort function for D858
- I am in Hong Kong, so 4G is 4G, it supports the China 4G (TD-CDMA)
- QuickMemo+ is always really nice, and the camera got many features once you install Xcam, it has the features that the G2 got, no idea why G3 removed them
- don't use Android 5.0 now, over heating and battery drain for no reason
- screen using too much battery, 2K makes the phone feel slower compare to the G2, even my GPro feel a bit faster sometimes, and my GPro battery last forever
- I got it because it's like half price compare to Sony Xperia Z3 and those Samsungs, it can compare with them but half the price
Hi Guys,
I am willing to buy a mid-range smartphone. I have some options like Moto G, Honor 5X, One Plus X etc. But, I want to go with the LG G3 to try my luck., as It'll be upgraded to Marshmallow. I am not sure if I am doing the right thing or not. I need your experienced advice on that.
But, I also can see there are several models of LG G3 here in US:
LG G3 D855 - International Version
LG G3 D851 - T-mobile, US
LG G3 D850 - AT&T, US
LG G3 LS990 - Sprint, US
LG G3 VS985 - Verizon, US
I would like to use it both inside and outside of US. So, if I buy the International version, will I get the 4G LTE support in US? Can I root it and install Custom ROMS in it? Because, I googled it, and I saw, Only, T-mobile version comes with Unlocked Boot-loader. Is it true?
Please, let me know, And, it would be great, if you suggest me some better place to buy this phone online. Thanks in advance.

Check gsm lte bands are listed there for each model. Although the international model has the most custom rom support and has an fm radio. And nop there are no bootloader issues with the g3.

Thanks I think I'll go with the International version.
beware of fake D855s and you will not get LTE coverage, at least with AT&T. For these reasons I went with the 851. Good luck
No LTE on the d855 in the USA. Although it really is the best version to go with, be aware of that. In the USA at least, you'll mostly run on HDSAP+ which really is fast enough for a mobile in my opinion. (Usually from 7 to 21 Mb/s)
