I've seen a lot of AT&T - T-Mobile discussions about the LG G3 but not Much For Verizon's Version.
For Verizon the G3 will hit stores tomorrow (7-17-14) and I can't wait to see Unboxing/Rooting/Modding Videos/Tutorials.
I Figured we can use this Thread to Help out our Verizon Family with answers to their questions.
Lookiing for some general guidance here (checked the FAQ 1st)
I'm thinking about getting service on an ATT MVNO (H2O) and wondering which version would be the best to pursue.
The D850 would be the simplest, but a quick look around here and the T-Mobile developer forum seems to have more activity, more content, and a greater variety of ROMs (and possibly support).
Also, I read in another thread here from about 6 months ago that there is much less bloatware by default on the TM variant and the booloader is not locked down by default either. Further, there are some hardware features which may not exist on the 850 that are on the 851 (such as wireless charging possibility).
So I'm leaning toward seeking out a D851 but perhaps there would be some caveats of getting a D851 fully operational on AT&T that I'm not aware of. If so, any guidance is most welcome.
TIA
The only difference between both of them is that one will allow you to download the latest software updates and the other wont
? which one is that ?

Since your going to be using AT&T, the AT&T variant (D850) will allow you to download the latest software updates since you have a AT&T sim installed
For the Verizon variant you have to have a Verizon sim installed in order for OTA updates to show up
Hey guys,
I couldn't find a thread here on XDA in regards to this, but I am wondering if my T-Mobile LG G3 that has been unlocked by T-Mobile will work on Verizon....at all? This is not a personal choice, but more like I keep being asked by many in regards to my ad on Craigslist if the phone will work. I have done some research on this and found that the G3's LTE antenna can utilize a few select bands of Verizon's LTE, so data and MMS are my last worry. My main concern is voice and texting. COnsidering those are separate antennae, what should I know in order to inform possible buyers? I obviously do not want to be falsifying information in any way (literally against my morals; I was screwed over twice with smartphones and CL).
Again, what should I know. I seem to be finding myself using gsmarena.com to compare the Verizon G3 and T-Mobile G3 LTE band support.
Any help will amazing so I can get this phone sold! Thanks all!! :good:
According to willmyphonework the LTE will work fine but if they ever go anywhere without LTE, they will not have service at all. The CDMA part of verizon isn't compatible with the GSM edge capabilities of the T-Mobile g3.
Hi Guys,
I am willing to buy a mid-range smartphone. I have some options like Moto G, Honor 5X, One Plus X etc. But, I want to go with the LG G3 to try my luck., as It'll be upgraded to Marshmallow. I am not sure if I am doing the right thing or not. I need your experienced advice on that.
But, I also can see there are several models of LG G3 here in US:
LG G3 D855 - International Version
LG G3 D851 - T-mobile, US
LG G3 D850 - AT&T, US
LG G3 LS990 - Sprint, US
LG G3 VS985 - Verizon, US
I would like to use it both inside and outside of US. So, if I buy the International version, will I get the 4G LTE support in US? Can I root it and install Custom ROMS in it? Because, I googled it, and I saw, Only, T-mobile version comes with Unlocked Boot-loader. Is it true?
Please, let me know, And, it would be great, if you suggest me some better place to buy this phone online. Thanks in advance.

Check gsm lte bands are listed there for each model. Although the international model has the most custom rom support and has an fm radio. And nop there are no bootloader issues with the g3.

Thanks I think I'll go with the International version.
beware of fake D855s and you will not get LTE coverage, at least with AT&T. For these reasons I went with the 851. Good luck
No LTE on the d855 in the USA. Although it really is the best version to go with, be aware of that. In the USA at least, you'll mostly run on HDSAP+ which really is fast enough for a mobile in my opinion. (Usually from 7 to 21 Mb/s)
Hi,
I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S4 i545 (Verizon) that has the locked bootloader, and therefore has limited ROMs available. I am considering picking up a used LG G3 and would like to know if there are any "gotchas" to be aware of? On the Verizon G3 forum it appears root & recovery are doable via some back-flips. I'm curious if the AT&T and T-Mobile variants have any quirks to rooting, etc... I use my Verizon S4 with AT&T so I can go with either of the Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile variants of the G3.
Appreciate your feedback!
