Hello All,
I have been perusing the forums in an attempt to fix an issue I am having with my month old Galaxy Note 2014 Ed. Here are the details:
WiFi Only
Model: SM-P600
Android Version: 4.3
Kernel: 3.4.39-2040736
Build Number: Jss15J.P600UEUBMK1
What it's doing: So this has been happening sporadically since I first received the device. It will crash and power the screen off (not turn itself all the way off, just kill the screen). It will then either power itself back on or wait for input from me then it will flash a blue screen before going back to whatever app I have open. This issue can be duplicated, too, by touching any of the corners of the device; the tablet will flash off then back on. I have wiped my device back to stock with no luck. I have terminated all the bloatware the Samsung has placed on the device with no luck. The infuriating part is that my wife has, what I believe to be, the exact same device except in white and she has no trouble with her table. I am hoping the community will be able to give me some information as to what to do.
I have not rooted this device yet, but would be willing to if it will fix the issues I am experiencing. I also purchased the extended warrenty if this turns out to just be lemon machine, but I feel that this is more software than hardware at this point (I honestly suspect it is a memory leak somewhere but I can not isolate it). I appreciate the time guys, Thank You.
EDIT: It appears to be the case I was using. I did some more research and found that the exact case I was using is effecting the digitizer. I will be getting a new case immediately.
I know this post is somewhat old, but would you happen to have the link to the case? I want to see if its the same case I'm using as I'm having some issues with my P600
Thanks in advance
Hey every one. i have been thinking of rooting my tablet for a wile now. but i wasn't sure if the resent update has integrated knox warranty void or not. knowing Samsung they are probably going to try if its not already done.
Hi everyone !
I have a problem, i have a tab pro 10.1 (sm t520) and my battery life is not so good, i have already calibrate it but the problem persist. The problem is that I want to send my tab to samsung but my knox is tripped Will Samsung won't to repair my tab because the knox is 0x1 ? Maybe if I unroot and flash a stock firmware there will be no problem ?
Thanks for your answer and sorry for my english.
Don't worry about knox. It has nothing to do with your hardware warranty. Knox is a security feature for corporate environments.

So even after knox is tripped, Samsung still honors the warranty?
Yes, there are multiple threads for several samsung devices that confirm this.

So, custom recovery and firmware do not void the warrenty? How can i verify?
Cheers,

I have read numerous postings on Reddit that if Knox is tripped, Samsung will not honor any portion of your warranty.

But it doesn't sound like his battery is obviously defective. Custom software could easily be to blame, or at least I'd be concerned that's what samsung would say. But I guess worst case they send it back and work t repair.
Flashing back to stock via Odin should be done to confirm if the problem persists.

Ok thanks for your answers, I will flash the stock rom

Kevin P: Hi, thank you for reaching out to Samsung technical support. How may I assist you?
Antonio: Hey there, I recently bought a Samsung galaxy tab pro 8.4 and it developed some issue that caused random reboots so I restored factory state with your kies program
Antonio: Now the Knox services won't work
Antonio: I googled it and found out my know warranty was tripped... Does this mean my warranty is void?
Kevin P: I see that you have sent me quite a bit of information. I’d be happy to go through it and assist you better.
Antonio: Thank you
Kevin P: You are welcome.
Kevin P: Could you provide me with the complete model number of the tablet?
Kevin P: You can find it on the rear panel of the tablet. Usually model number starts with GT, SM, SGH, SCH.
Kevin P: You can also find the model number, go to Home>> Apps>> Settings>> About Device.
Antonio: SM-T320
Kevin P: Thank you for providing the model number.
Kevin P: I see that resetting the tab does not void the warranty.
Kevin P: Removing the battery, physical, accidental, liquid damage will void the warranty.
Antonio: So what does this mean now that my Knox warranty has been tripped to 0x1? Knox will no longer work, and my local best buy employee where I bought the phone said it May void the warranty
Antonio: *Tablet not phone*
Kevin P: Does the app came pre installed with the tab?
Antonio: Yes. I can't delete it. It is a system app
Kevin P: I would like to confirm that you have rooted the tab?
Antonio: Rooted? I have not rooted to my knowledge... Does using Samsung kies root the device
Antonio: ?
Kevin P: Thank you for confirming.
Kevin P: Not worry. I see that this is not a problem. You tab will be covered under warranty for service.
Antonio: Thank you, If the random reboots persist I may have to return.
I may have told a white lie or two (my tab is still bone stock, No issues yet) but I wanted to get some info.
It appears to me that if you can flash back to unrooted stock, and your knox flag is 0x1, your warranty will still be safe (USA at least). Just say something like this^^
SM-T320 - Bone Stock (for now)
VS980 - Xdabbeb 1.2.1
Grouper - SlimKat F2FS
TF300T - CROMBi-kk
YP-G1 - CM11/Impulse

Ok pretty cool ^^ if Samsung do that in USA they do that too in France
This does not apply to France which is part of Europe and consumers are protected by law that it would be Samsung job to prove that the hardware can be damaged by software change.
Which would mean that the hardware is severely flawed...
Imagine the top news headlines "Samsung tablets can be physically damaged by a malware“

Yeah just never admit that you rooted. Maybe different in Europe.

What does it mean ? Samsung will refuse my tablet if I send to them ?

Partie légalité Europe.
It cannot void your hardware warranty unless they can prove that the hardware defect is due to flashing the recovery or rom.
And anyway did Samsung say that tripping Knox bit will void the hardware warranty? Don't think so. Software only.
Also the 6 month rule is good to know

I have a big problem, I know why my battery life is so horrible .... my tab pro is like the tab s : it is folded..... I must send it to A.S.S I hope that I will have no problems..
I am an expert in Android OS and everything else related !
But i used to live in KSA , which warranties there are pretty much nothing !
So my Q is does they really check for kinda of things here is US ? I know how to return to stock Touchwiz, but there is usually a counter that counts flashes , Any one have any experience with this kinda of things ?
I've heard mixed reports - most say they they can return for warranty with flash counter tripped and is okay. I don't think there is a counter that counts flashes. I have put several ROMs on my 10.1 and it shows just 1.
The Tab Pro 8.4 has a micro fuse built into the circuit board that will blow and change the Knox counter from 0x0 to 0x1. If Samung went through the effort to build this into the tablet I'm sure they will check it.

The Knox hardware "tripwire" is primarily intended to make enterprise users (businesses) feel they can use the device safely without it being modified.
I've seen it argued here that it does not void warranty. Although I can certainly see it being used to do so, if Samsung wanted to.
From what I've read on here, resports have been mixed (about whether root voids warranty), as another stated previously.
There is absolutely ZERO Samsung documentation showing a tripped Knox flag voiding the Hardware Warranty. It simply prevents the tablet from using Knox Security software, forever.
I was denied warranty repair by samsung for my S4 because of KNOX. Ive read about this exact topic for hours and even talked to samsung support in 4 different countries.
One representative will tell you that it voids warranty and a very few will say that it doesnt.
Then in Europe there is the whole argument of 'if I modify software and my speaker breaks within 2 weeks of purchase my hardware warranty should be intact'. There is some consumer protection in that regard but i cant remember which exact law it was.
Even so, have fun arguing with a multi-billion dollar company, i certainly didnt. I have tripped many many knox fuses and all i can say is this: buy the device and test it as THOROUGHLY as you can to be sure you dont have one with a problem straight from the factory and then blow that stupid fuse.
Make sure its in good shape. It would suck if you trip the fuse and then you realise you have a dodgy acreen/speaker/woifi whatever that you could have fixed on warranty.
Be prepared for no warranty whatsoever if that fuse is gone. If youre lucky they will still fix it.
Hey all,
Quick question. So apparently I have a bad BT module in my Note 10.1 2014 because it can't stay connected to my BT Logitech K810 (as others have suggested in this forum). It has a 2 year John Lewis warranty and they want to send it away on my behalf.
But, they won't see that I've tripped knox in the shop so no doubt they will send it away.
What's likely to happen and what are the potential (worst case) ramifications of letting them do this? ie if they send it, Samsung return it and say "no", can JL charge me for carriage and labour fees incurred by Samsung? Or are they just likely to sort it? Does anyone have any experience, because right now I wish I hadn't tripped KNOX
Cheers
J
flash it back to stock, don't say anything.
Many UK people have tripped knox and still got their tablets repaired.
Cool I will have a bash then. Still - anyone know about what happens financially if they send it back claiming Knox to be tripped? Will I get charged? Or would they have to implicitly inform me before hand if that was the case?
I have not heard of a single case where a tripped knox and Samsung have not repaired it. Plus it be sorted via John Lewis as well, they wouldn't have a clue anyway.
