I have the stock rom/kernel installed on my phone after being on CM11 for a while. The process worked fine and I have been on stock LG for about 2 weeks. This morning, I turned on my phone and it came up with a notification saying I can update the phone to a newer version. I clicked okay and it turned off into Clockwork Mod Recovery. It didn't update, and after waiting about 3 minuted I just went ahead and clicked on re-boot device. It showed the LG logo and then did the color rotation on the home button. Then it showed up Clockwork Mod Recovery again. So after rebooting and clearing user data, cache, and dalvik cache. The phone still boots into recovery. Please help! :crying:

flash twrp, reboot(say yes when prompted to fix root). If still in bootloop after that you will need to flash a rom.
same thing happened to me, was up all night trying to fix it. the solution was to use lgflashtool and flash back to a totally stock rom and start over. sure hope it doesn't happen again.

Its in the lg g pro general section.
I've tried to revert rooted 4.1.2 with CWM via LG Mobile Support tool, but I got completely unexpected result - phone was updated to KitKat, so you can try that variant too.
Never install OTA updates when using custom recovery, unless you want trouble. OTA needs stock recovery.

Flash TWRP via your current rewcovery then follow post #9 here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53631232
Be sure to install the recovery I mention.
I really hate this bootloop issue and am really sad to see all these posts about people bricking their phones or getting bootloops etc.
I'm not saying that people are stupid or careless, it's just that we need a whole new set of recoveries, tools, etc for Kitkat and don;t have what's needed without causing problems.
I really wish I was a developer. I'd create all this stuff myself if I could.
I solved my issue just by flashing cwm on top of my old recovery, which is another cwm. Just glade that I didn't have to use the lg flashtools.
fix
1 . dowload this rom fom the link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-g-pro/development/sphinx-pro-t2823312
2 . put it on your externel sdcard
3 . wipe and flash the rom , it has aroma instaler
4 .shose you model at the end shose the stock recovery ,
5. power off the phone off
6 .inter download mode , volume down , home buton , power
7 . the phone will ask you if you want to factory reset say yes
the phone will reboot

so i just ran LGNPST to get to ZV7, then i updated to ZV8
once i was on ZV8, i rooted and unlocked bootloader successfully using GAIO v1.50
i'm having problems booting into my custom recovery TWRP, after i install the custom recovery using GAIO
i try to shutdown the phone and boot into recovery, but every time i try i get a quick screen of the lg logo then it goes black and it doesn't load the os.
i cant even get to fast boot, so what i've done from here (the past 5 times) is i run LGNPST again and start all over again.
i tried the FreeGee method of installing the custom recovery but the results are the same..
any ideas?

If it says your phone is unsupported then you are trying to load cwm on your phone which shouldn't be needed as free gee should load it on your device(if I remember correctly. Been a while since I unlocked). He is saying that he used it to boot into recovery not load cwm.
I assume that's what he is saying and you are doing if I'm wrong feel free to correct.
You could also install ROM toolbox scroll to the very bottom of the first page click Rebooter and click reboot recovery. That should hopefully take you to cwm where you can flash recovery.

i tried using rom manager to kick me into recovery (chosing trwp recovery before hand with freegee) before and it did the same thing,
rebooted, showed lg logo for a split second, then black screen. i just did the whole process again of using LGNPST to get to ZV7, then i updated to ZV8 then free gee to give me twrp then rom toolbox to kick me into recovery and its the same thing! black screen!
i also tried BEFORE doing freegee to go into recovery after the LGNPST to see what happens, and it just took me to normal recovery.
so my issue has to be with freegee..
should i LGNPST again to get me back up and running and THEN uninstall freegee, reinstall it, and choose clockworkmod as my reovery?
maybe is trwp just failing to load? what are you guys using?
{guide} soft-brick fix
Happened to myself as well. Follow these steps from AdriVelazquez.
Fixed it in a jiffy!
Accessing Recovery Screen (First Step if you have bricked your phone)
This is our initial step for any problems that might arise. If you can access recovery, usually you're in a perfectly fine situation.
1. Power off your phone by holding Volume down & power at the same time.
2. When the screen shuts off, switch to entering fastboot by holding Volume Up & Power. Release immediately once you see a black screen with some text on the bottom.
3. You should see a black screen with some text at the bottom.
4. Press volume down 2x and then the power button.
5. You should see either TWRP or CWM recovery.
6. Wipe Cache, Dalvic Cache, and Factory Wipe
7. Flash new stock zip. Wipe caches again.
8. Restart.
My issue is after I use freegee to unlock the bootloader and to put on twrp recovery
At that moment when I restart my phone won't boot into the android os or fast boot
When I try to enter fast boot by holding power and volume up I never see any text at the bottom of screen it just shows the lg logo then a compete black screen
at this point I'm unable to even enter the OS. So the only thing I can access thankfully is Download mode.
I had the same problem. The way I fixed it was to lgnpst back. Root the phone and then run freegee. Then when I entered the bootloader it did the same lg symbol black screen thing. I held the volume up and down along with power while it was at the black back lit screen for about 20 seconds till it was completely off. Then I plugged it into my computer or you can use a charger to. Wait a few seconds and a battery animation should show up. Leave it on charge for a few minutes and then take it off and turn it on and you should be good to go. I can't guarantee it is going to work but it worked for me and I found it just by trying different things. I also read about someone else mentioning what I did in another soft brick post. I also read that shelnut2 has a special freegee version that you can only get from him. You can try him in irc. I read he dose not want it posted because it could permanently brick the phone.
-Frank
yeah... this is exact same problem that I had before..
You nees to go optimus g IRC channel and talk to shelnutt2 that you are having problem with unlocking bootloader. He will help you nicely cause he is super nice!

I have Galaxy S3 on which I have CyanogenMod. I was on vacation in Poland last summer and I got there my Rogers Galaxy S3 phone unlocked and polish language CyanogenMod ver 10.0 was installed . It worked fine since. Recently, I installed few game for my grandson. Right after I found that it took longer time to boot a phone. Then I started to get a message after rebooting, "System process didn't start" with option to click "Wait" or "OK". When I clicked OK phone was slowly booting and finally was fully operational. Every new reboot took longer and longer with the same message, "system process didn't start" click "wait" or "ok".
Finally it stopped to boot. When I power on a phone it starts booting and get to same message as before. I click "wait" and nothing happen, or I click "ok" and still nothing happen. Then phone reboots itself and keep doing it.... Doesn't boot anymore to application.
What I can try to do to fix it? I am pretty new to this "rooting" "Odin'...etc so if you have an advice please communicate it as simply ans possible.
Any help appreciated
Thank you
Boot into recovery and flash a newversion or same version of CM 10 or CM10.1 (Either one is good or you could pick a whole new ROM up to you). Make sure you follow the instruction of the ROMs thread for how to install. To get to recovery you hold the volume up + home button + power untill it boots to recovery and from there follow ROM instructions.

Before you install any ROM be sure to do a factory/reset, wipe dalvik cache, wipe cache partition and format system, and don't worry about doing everything twice, especially if you are coming from a TW ROM and going to a CM type ROM. If you don't start off with a clean slate you may have some "ghosts" left over.

Possible Fix
1. Go here - > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1968625 -> install the correct stock firmware for your carrier
2. Go here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722686 -> download ODIN.. and READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!
3. Use ODIN to put the STOCK ROM back onto your phone. It takes a little while to do it.. and first boot can take a while as well.
4. Go here -> http://autoroot.chainfire.eu/#odin -> download the correct version of CF autoroot for your phone
5. Use ODIN to install CF auto root the same way you installed the STOCK ROM
6. Go to the google play store and download ROM manager
7 - In ROM manager Installed CWM recovery
8-> enjoy a rooted phone and flash custom roms if you like!
I have had my GS4 for a few days now. Its rooted and running DarthStalker. When I reboot the phone esp from TWRP it just gets stuck on the GS4 screen. Its most of the time sometimes when I reboot from the screen it fixes it self, Or do a full wipe. Do I have to odin stock again? I got it working by full wiping DarthStalker and reinstalling again.
I had this issue too, i even tried to use cwm and see if that fixed the problem but it wouldnt even boot doing a full wipe, i odined back to stock and rerooted , installed twrp and i have no problems now.

I dont think it would do any good, after installing cwm i couldnt do anything just boot into recovery. So to get it running i pushed twrp .tar file thru odin but still had to fully wipe everytime i reboot it. So i just odined to stock. I was a little scared as a week before i had hard bricked an S3.

Next time you have problems booting up normally or have bootloops for whatever reason, do a "factory reset"
in either cwm or twrp and nine out of ten times after doing that the phone will boot normally.

Hello,
I have a SGH-T989. I recently rooted it and installed cyanogenmod, with gapps and a custom kernel (AOSP UBER KERNEL). I think the kernel is the problem but i dont know how to attack it. Anyways, my phone is stuck on the cyanogenmod boot screen ( Teh one with the circle and cyanogenmod on the inside) and its not frozen, but wont go past that screen. So i tried booting into CWM Recovery, however, when i would i would get that screen as is i didnt have CWM ( the one with the warning about custom software, where u use volume up to continue and then install cwm with odin). So i just opened odin and installed cwm again, but now when i get into cwm, i see all the options, such as reboot system now, install zip from sd, wipe data, wipe ccache, backup, etc. However, i see it for about 5 seconds, then the screen goes black, then cwm comes up again and then repeat. I can go down like one option and then it goes black, then shows the same cwm screen again. Please help! Im a mad noob btw.

I'd suggest to use odin and flash TWRP 2.6.1.0 in download mode, reboot and go into TWRP and do a full advanced wipe, dont wipe preload or it will fail, if you really want to wipe preload, then go into settings and change it to use rm -rf instead of format, shouldnt really need it tho, after wiping just reflash rom/gapps, wipe cache/davilk and reboot.
Thanks for the response. Im sorry but, how do I do that? is download mode the screen you get to when you hold the power button and volume buttons, and then let go of the power button? That screen is CWM for me, and I cant do anything in that mode due to every 5 seconds it stopping and restarting (CWM itself, not the entire phone). Thanks.

Nope that's recovery, to get into download mode and flash TWRP recovery, make sure you have Odin3-v1.85 and the latest Samsung USB Drivers (Win 7/8/XP) and follow the instructions here, just ignore the part about rooting, get TWRP 2.6.1.0 flashed and then follow above posts suggestions.

You should be good, just make sure you didn't lose root access, I saw a post in the dev section with someone saying they lost root after flashing UBER kernel, but that might of just been something they did wrong on their end, not sure.
Soo.. I decided to install Cynogen Mod 5.1.1 onto the Note 2. And, All worked fine....
But here is an issue. A while back I had to unlock the phone, which required me to install TWRP.. Now the issue is i think i installed it into the Boot instead of recovery.. So now whenever i select ANY power option in TWRP, the phone restarts into TWRP again.. Now, All i had to do was just do a battery pull and all was good.. Except for now..
I tried to update CM through TWRP, but it did something and now the phone boots into TWRP no matter what. I got the Android universal toolkit or whatever running and trying to fix the boot.img, But have been unsuccessful so far..
So, Any help that i can get would be appreciated.
Things I have done:
1. Reflashed boot.img with original.
2. Reflashed recovery with newer twrp
3. Factory reset, formated/
4. Installed backup with 4.4.2 installed still
5. Googled everything

Alright.. It's a bit of a Google.. But you gotta find the original recovery for the phone on the web.. The recovery for the gt-n100 or whatever works. So look for that.
