Well I have a sensation:/ lol great phone at tines but I was wondering how do you feel about your nexus? Can you see yourself with it 2 years from now?

I came from a Sensation and I have to say there are no regrets. I love this phone! And 2 years from now.... I dunno, the next Nexus will be tempting

Personally I think the camera is pretty good. Go take a look at the thread where people are posting their pictures, I think it's in the General section. There are some amazing shots in there.
Personally I would not be able to keep this phone for more than a year.... coz the next Nexus will be out by then to tempt me.
As I only wanted to buy a nexus (fast upgrades & great developer support) this was my only option. Else the HTC One X is a brilliant phone and I would even have waited for the SGS3.
Need to decide your priorities:
Timely updates, developer support, Custom ROMs, decent camera vs Quad core, fancy Cameras, update delays
not that great. 2 yrs from now? most likely switching to iphone.

ure kidding right?
2 years from now? The phones already 6 months old so I'd say at most I have another 18 months with this, although I'm sure I'll end up buying the next Nexus .
Thing is, Nexus owners are often going to be either jumping phones often (or having multiple devices) or just upgrading every 12 months to the new Nexus. Pretty predictable cycle.

By the time July rolls around, we're gonna have completely different devices on the horizon. Crazy enough we'll be looking towards Jellybean and the next Nexus device. Sure the GNex will be great and could be had for a solid price by that time, but I think its too early to make that call on ANY device this far out.

How can you say you're going to be switching to anything 2 years from now? We have no idea what the phone space will look like 6 months from now...

Could use for 2 years if pressed to but I'm likely just going to wait until next Nexus gets released then wait for the price to drop and become stable (retail only here since carrier price is basically retail price + slight discount on their month-to-month that you need to pay 5 months in advance).
So what I'm saying is that I agree with martonikaj BUT you could probably use this for 2 years. Plenty of people still using a droid1/milestone1 right now in fact

This is pretty much where I'm at. I got this Nexus the week it dropped, had it pre-ordered to come to me from the UK... and I have been extremely happy with it. I'm not in a rush to jump ship, so I will wait to see what the next Nexus is like and then jump on it a little bit after it's released. I don't think I want to go back to a non-Nexus device now that I've had a taste.
I've also only recently flashed my first custom ROM on the phone, so I've got plenty of room to explore the options that owning a device with so many developers work on provides.

You and I should high five or something.
The Motorola Milestone was a hilariously difficult phone for my first taste of Android and now that my 2nd happens to be a Nexus device, I don't want to go anywhere near those Milestone days again . Other than the QWERTY slider part, I still love that part.
i love my gnex! i had an x10 mini pro before and this is soo much better! even without the slider keyboard! i have not regretted choosing it for one moment.
Compared to my old Galaxy S (which was laggy as hell!) the nexus is heaven. Almost everything runs fluid and I've got more updates in 2 months after buying this phone than in 2 years with the galaxy S.

Who is keeping their galaxy nexus and who is buying the s3 please share. And would galaxy nexus get some of the features that is on s3 ? I wonder if any devs will do it ?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
In my opinion the Galaxy Nexus Has better android experience, and at the moment I don't think we need quad-core. you can find some apk of the features of the GS3 , also with the touchwiz (that I don't like)in the forum.
Nah, I love my Nexus.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
I love it also but lately I had been having problems with charging it. It doesn't charge sometimes and sometimes it does but it charges if you have the phone off so weird
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I haven't decided yet.
pre-ordered the S3. I feel that i'll cycle between both devices and find out which one is better for me nowadays. I find that the camera on the GNex isn't as good I thought it was :/ but then again its still a phone camera sensor. That being said, I'll have both phones for use and cherish each one
If I had the spare money, I'd get the SGS3 too. That way, I'd be able to switch back and forth between the two. Alas, I don't. I'm quite content with my Galaxy Nexus, though.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
the prize difference is just to damn high, apart from the S3 being a step back in terms of android 4.0 (hardware keys, no multitasking key, menu key).
i know that they want to keep it consistent with the old galaxy people but HTC managed to do the change at least half way through.
also, the new nexus phone(s) are coming up pretty soon, so why would you give up nexus advantages for a non nexus phone
I won't exchange and give extra to get the s3. I'd get it if I had some extra cash so that I can keep both.
Keep my Nexus. Samsung is starting to fail.

Why? the Super AMOLED HD used in the S3 is much improved over the one we have on the Nexus

sources seem to be all over the place, but from what i've seen it's basically SAMOLED+. whatever it is, it's an improvement over the pentile arrangement in the Nexus/SGSIII.
unless i see something coming down the pipeline for a US release with the S4 Pro (quad core) i'll be getting the Note II on release day for T-mo.

Nooooo! NO bigger than what it is now. Not even 4.8. I'd actually prefer a 4.5 inch or something, the 4.65 is a tad large at times when I want to reach to top left corner.
Screen Size
Im an x note owner, I have had my Nexus for more than 5 months now. I have to admit that I still suffer a little bit from missing the larger screen, I even ran Tablet UI mode to take advantage of my screen. Yes I wish the next nexus has a bigger scren ! Just wondering if anyone knows away to make this happen. Have been searching for the past week so figured I would start a thread. Love this feature on my Optimus G and is the main reason I am not using my Note 2 right now. Use it a lot and direct mirroring isn't cutting it for me
Guessing this isn't possible. Would be awesome to have. Really surprised the Note 10.1 doesn't have this either

Not really sure what you are talking about. What exactly is dual play?

Its an awesome feature I think. Once connected to the tv. You can direct mirror like on the Note but say you get a text. You can go and answer it while the movie still plays.
I actually use this on trips. My phone is like my dvd player. But right now on the Notes 2 and 10.1. Once movie is playing you cant leave it without having the movie stop and it direct mirror your phone

I was thinking about the battery life.. ugh but I love the htc one's build quality soo much!!! the note 2 with the same materials as htc one...OMG..it be a dream come true!!
It's a matter of personal taste...if you ever dreamed of an iphone-like device running Android, you're not bothered by the fact that the phone is sealed, doesn't have microSD slot and removable battery and 32GB of local storage are enough, HTC One seems to be the obvious choice. If you enjoy taking your phone apart or fixing it yourself for cheap if it gets damaged, like to have several days worth of battery life as an option and have a considerably sized media library you want to have with you then Note 2 is the way to go.
Galaxy S4 will be missing the support for smart stylus as well, some people welcome the functionality of it and I can't really think of any other phones on the market that would come close to the functionality and precision of the Galaxy Note 2 Stylus. As a galaxy note 2 owner I'm not sold on switching to the HTC One mainly because the most important new features it brings (1080p screen, improved camera, infra red sensor) are not enough to convince me.
Also HTC One is using the Adreno 320 GPU which although really fast right now will become dated sooner than most would believe, after Tegra 4 and the new generation mobile GPUs will hit the market a few months later. I know that not only I will skip the HTC One but also the Galaxy S4...I want to see what the Galaxy Note 3 brings new to the table, I'm pretty damn satisfied with my Note 2 so far.
