Who is keeping their galaxy nexus and who is buying the s3 please share. And would galaxy nexus get some of the features that is on s3 ? I wonder if any devs will do it ?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
In my opinion the Galaxy Nexus Has better android experience, and at the moment I don't think we need quad-core. you can find some apk of the features of the GS3 , also with the touchwiz (that I don't like)in the forum.
Nah, I love my Nexus.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
I love it also but lately I had been having problems with charging it. It doesn't charge sometimes and sometimes it does but it charges if you have the phone off so weird

I haven't decided yet.
pre-ordered the S3. I feel that i'll cycle between both devices and find out which one is better for me nowadays. I find that the camera on the GNex isn't as good I thought it was :/ but then again its still a phone camera sensor. That being said, I'll have both phones for use and cherish each one
If I had the spare money, I'd get the SGS3 too. That way, I'd be able to switch back and forth between the two. Alas, I don't. I'm quite content with my Galaxy Nexus, though.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
the prize difference is just to damn high, apart from the S3 being a step back in terms of android 4.0 (hardware keys, no multitasking key, menu key).
i know that they want to keep it consistent with the old galaxy people but HTC managed to do the change at least half way through.
also, the new nexus phone(s) are coming up pretty soon, so why would you give up nexus advantages for a non nexus phone
I won't exchange and give extra to get the s3. I'd get it if I had some extra cash so that I can keep both.
Keep my Nexus. Samsung is starting to fail.

Keeping nexus. S3 is nice but not good enough to replace nexus

The S3 is just another Samsung phone but the nexus is a true Google phone.
no chance I will ever buy another non-true Google Phone....

Hello Nexus-Community
I´m thinking about upgrading from desire z to the Nexus.
I´m pretty happy with the desire z, but i´d like an amoled-display and better batteryperformance.
My phones i would upgrade to are the Galaxy S2 or the Nexus.
I think the hardware is a bit better than the nexus´s, but i think always having the newest firmware is a big plus for the nexus.
i also think the nexus got the biggest an easiest dev-community because of the early (first) updates from google.
so, at the beginning when the nexus has been realeased a lot of people were talking about bugs, how is it now?
so finally, which phone would u choose (i know this is the nexus-forum, so be objectively as possible xD)
thanks in advance
l-viz
ps: the price doesn´t matter, normally the s2 is cheaper, atm i could get the nexus 8€ at a lower price)
I lold at newest firmware
My friend has a galaxy s2 and I have a nexus
He's on 4.0.3 and I'm still stuck on 4.0.1
Anyways I'm coming from a T-Mobile G2 too, nexus and s2 are definitely an upgrade
I'd go with the galaxy s2, I regret buying the nexus, just cuz its nexus doesn't mean you'll get the update first.

I upgraded from the Desire Z to the Galaxy Nexus. Its pretty awesome. The screen and thickness are a huge update. So is ICS.
The battery life will not be as good, sorry. The screen eats battery like nobody's business. And there are bugs, but assuming you're buying the i9250 model there really aren't any blatant bugs to be worried about.
I say you should go for it. If money isn't an issue, I think the Nexus is the best bet for you.

Le sigh... not this again.
Go talk to your friend in a few months when your version is higher than his... then talk to him in 8 months when you have Jellybean and he has 4.0.3 still. And are you envious of his Touchwiz UI?
I think you forgot about the past 4 months where the Nexus was on 4.0.x and the SGSII was still on 2.3.x ... but now you ***** about him being x.x.2 higher, even with a skin on it.
Seriously. I really wish people would stop spouting off this stupid garbage.

I have a DZ as my backup phone. To this day, before the GNex it was my favorite phone but the GNex is a WAY better experience. The screen size and being amoled will make you very happy. If you're not waiting for anything else specific then do it, you won't regret it. Unless of course you really use the keyboard a lot...

I don't doubt you're regretting getting the nexus since you feel that you are "stuck" on 4.0.1.
you wont make a mistake choosing the nexus.
all sources released and you wont have to beg samsung or any other manufacturer for updates..

Having used both, I would say Galaxy Nexus is the way to go. It just feels much better and solid both performance wise and the built quality. I am not sure why, but it just felt right, regardless of being large, and have not had any crashes even with bunch of apps running.
I have a Desire Z, Sg2, and Nexus.
Only problem with Nexus is the radio. Not very good with Internet browsing.
I am going to get the HTC One XL.
Imho HTC has better radios and build quality

I had a T-Mobile G2 (same as Desire Z) for a year before switching to the GSM Galaxy Nexus. I'll tell you that is is definitely a worthwhile upgrade in every way. The larger screen does take a little getting used to, but now there is no going back for me! I had found myself using the hardware keyboard on the G2 less and less, so I don't miss the hardware keyboard at all. I'm not sure what "radio problem" user tangiers is having, but I've had no issues with calls, data, or wifi. I've had some Bluetooth problems, but those are Android OS issues and not specific to the Galaxy Nexus. With the stock Galaxy Nexus battery, I'd say I was getting about 2 hours more battery life than with the G2. I now have the 2000 mah OEM Samsung extended battery (bought from shimshop on ebay) and get about another 2-3 hours on top of that. Good luck!
Well I have a sensation:/ lol great phone at tines but I was wondering how do you feel about your nexus? Can you see yourself with it 2 years from now?

Personally I think the camera is pretty good. Go take a look at the thread where people are posting their pictures, I think it's in the General section. There are some amazing shots in there.
Personally I would not be able to keep this phone for more than a year.... coz the next Nexus will be out by then to tempt me.
As I only wanted to buy a nexus (fast upgrades & great developer support) this was my only option. Else the HTC One X is a brilliant phone and I would even have waited for the SGS3.
Need to decide your priorities:
Timely updates, developer support, Custom ROMs, decent camera vs Quad core, fancy Cameras, update delays

ure kidding right?
2 years from now? The phones already 6 months old so I'd say at most I have another 18 months with this, although I'm sure I'll end up buying the next Nexus .
Thing is, Nexus owners are often going to be either jumping phones often (or having multiple devices) or just upgrading every 12 months to the new Nexus. Pretty predictable cycle.

By the time July rolls around, we're gonna have completely different devices on the horizon. Crazy enough we'll be looking towards Jellybean and the next Nexus device. Sure the GNex will be great and could be had for a solid price by that time, but I think its too early to make that call on ANY device this far out.

Could use for 2 years if pressed to but I'm likely just going to wait until next Nexus gets released then wait for the price to drop and become stable (retail only here since carrier price is basically retail price + slight discount on their month-to-month that you need to pay 5 months in advance).
So what I'm saying is that I agree with martonikaj BUT you could probably use this for 2 years. Plenty of people still using a droid1/milestone1 right now in fact

This is pretty much where I'm at. I got this Nexus the week it dropped, had it pre-ordered to come to me from the UK... and I have been extremely happy with it. I'm not in a rush to jump ship, so I will wait to see what the next Nexus is like and then jump on it a little bit after it's released. I don't think I want to go back to a non-Nexus device now that I've had a taste.
I've also only recently flashed my first custom ROM on the phone, so I've got plenty of room to explore the options that owning a device with so many developers work on provides.

You and I should high five or something.
The Motorola Milestone was a hilariously difficult phone for my first taste of Android and now that my 2nd happens to be a Nexus device, I don't want to go anywhere near those Milestone days again . Other than the QWERTY slider part, I still love that part.
i love my gnex! i had an x10 mini pro before and this is soo much better! even without the slider keyboard! i have not regretted choosing it for one moment.
Compared to my old Galaxy S (which was laggy as hell!) the nexus is heaven. Almost everything runs fluid and I've got more updates in 2 months after buying this phone than in 2 years with the galaxy S.

Want a Motorola Nexus even more than I want a Sony one.
i cant say its a good decision to make 3 nexuses until i see some specs..
I think I could get behind a Sony nexus if they keep their extremely good looking design and use some really good internal hardware.
Motorola Nexus is the only thing that interests me. If not, Samsung still has my money for the next Nexus.
It won't be good if Google releases more than one nexus because people will not know which one to choose and go to iphone. When i bought Gnexus i bought it because it is one of a kind

is that why I couldnt get one, cause you got the one
More Nexus devices the stronger the code will get, no hacking in some hardware keyboard, for a possible slide out phone.(bad refrence I know but you see what I am saying)
If the people that get confused when shopping, that's not the type of people you want to buy the product.
A nexus as slim as the razor maxx with that huge battery and vanilla android...doesn't get any better
well yeah i dont see where the bad part is, you see looks, specs, brands and grab the one u like the most
The bad part is dividing the devs/community across multiple devices and thus making users lose half of the point of having a nexus (the other half being updates, vanilla...)
Please not LG, please not LG...
Im thinking a Kyrocera Nexus
I know it's spelt wrong but I don't think that phone brand is worth my time in figuring out the correct way to spell it.
Jellin' like a felon
I'm thinking the CPU/GPU will be the same, the design/screen will be the differentiating factor between the nexii. That is if there is more then one released.

The i9260 isn't the next Nexus, it's an upcoming TouchWiz phone from Samsung called the "Galaxy Premier" (at least right now).
I dont think I can use another brand other than a nexus. This phone is just great and updates are in a timely fashion that if I was with a Samsung phone with touchwiz the updates wouldnt be happening till 5 months or so after it was released.

Im wondering first, is it worth it overall to buy the 2013 over the 2012. I know the specs are better, but the cost differential is rather large for such small feature changes. Is the display really all that great compared to the old one? Would it just be better to get a high capacity nexus 2012?
Also, what is this FLO i see on all the dev threads? When i was using my nexus 7 2012 we were doing the whole F2FS file system, is that something thats going to happen on the nexus 7 2013? or is it something that isnt even needed?
