Just asking as Im not familar with HTC phones, never had one before, currently using Galaxy S3 and Motorola XT910.
I have not got this phone yet but I do intend to get through my carrier however at the moment they only have the white model with grey apparently coming soon.Im holding out for the grey.

Hi there,
I wanted to know if there is a way to unroot my Desire which I bought from O2 Germany.
I am planning to root my Desire but am not sure because of the warranty. I guess the warranty will be over the moment I root.
I have the Bootloader 0.80.
Thanks,
hakeem18
If your phone was rooted and you flashed the official o2 Rom which is available on here somewhere, you would be unrooted.
And your warranty would be fine.

Agrees, flashing a stock FW will unroot your phone, but i would check with your insurance because as long as you dont open the phone and fiddle with the bits it doesnt matter what your running, rooted or not!
If this is possible why the nexus one can't do this? I thought if you unlocked the bootloader that it will stay unlocked or will this only happen on the nexus one?
Bootloader and Fastboot are built into all Android Devices, they are how the engineers would get in and fix your phone if it broke
as for the Nexus One i was under the impression that like with all Androids you flash the Official ROM and it is unrooted
The bootloader stays unlocked right when you unroot a desire or nexus one?

Yep, like i said Bootloader and Fastboot are on all Android devices for DEV and engineering purposes
Thanks wanted to be sure that if the bootloader stays unlocked that you will still have warranty when you have unrooted the phone

Hi guys,
I bought HTC wildfire S... Its a branded Australian version as i see 'NEXT' network logo on phone and box...
It has been unlocked coz i am using a different network in Asia...
Since it doesn't come in warranty, i want to Root it, and start installing custom roms on it..i know much about HTC sensation coz i own that too and have good knowledge of Android stuff...
Can someone tell me what should i do to Root it?
I saw in forums here that unlocking bootloader is via HTCdev and xtc clip...
I don't care about loosing warranty stuff but i want to enable ROOT and flash custom roms and remove the NEXT network animation on boot and remove all bloatwares..
Unlock bootloader and then root the phone. tutorials are in the forums.

This section is for the Wildfire S, you're looking for the board for the HTC Buzz ( Original Wildfire).

No and no.
There are some Chinese websites that can unlock without using htcdev but once you unlock. the phone will know that it has been unlocked.
If you relock. The boot loader will say relocked rather than locked so HTC will know that it has been done. Even if you don't use their tools to do it

The SunShine developers haven't released a mod for the HTC Desire 820. If you install the app, it tells you that the SunShine database does not recognise the phone's model. We need an alternative to this. Somebody please test Firewater S-OFF and post ASAP. Even I am stuck with perm-root but no busybox, no bloatware removal, nothing. The phone just restarts on account of the S-ON.
Htc Desire s off
Why s off in this device is impossible????
Is not impossible, the s-off with xtc2clip can't be done.

s off
Hello....but with this method the phone switches from s on as s off or not ? I wish that the phone is s off..thank you..
No, it's only for removing bloatware.
For s_off you have to follow next process,

s off
Thank yuo but this is an old method I think that s off in this device is not possible now..
Making S off by firewater is not working. Just now I checked.
