This section is for the Wildfire S, you're looking for the board for the HTC Buzz ( Original Wildfire).
You'll find that here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=678

Hi there,
I wanted to know if there is a way to unroot my Desire which I bought from O2 Germany.
I am planning to root my Desire but am not sure because of the warranty. I guess the warranty will be over the moment I root.
I have the Bootloader 0.80.
Thanks,
hakeem18
If your phone was rooted and you flashed the official o2 Rom which is available on here somewhere, you would be unrooted.
And your warranty would be fine.

Agrees, flashing a stock FW will unroot your phone, but i would check with your insurance because as long as you dont open the phone and fiddle with the bits it doesnt matter what your running, rooted or not!
If this is possible why the nexus one can't do this? I thought if you unlocked the bootloader that it will stay unlocked or will this only happen on the nexus one?
Bootloader and Fastboot are built into all Android Devices, they are how the engineers would get in and fix your phone if it broke
as for the Nexus One i was under the impression that like with all Androids you flash the Official ROM and it is unrooted
The bootloader stays unlocked right when you unroot a desire or nexus one?

Yep, like i said Bootloader and Fastboot are on all Android devices for DEV and engineering purposes
Thanks wanted to be sure that if the bootloader stays unlocked that you will still have warranty when you have unrooted the phone

Hi guys,
I bought HTC wildfire S... Its a branded Australian version as i see 'NEXT' network logo on phone and box...
It has been unlocked coz i am using a different network in Asia...
Since it doesn't come in warranty, i want to Root it, and start installing custom roms on it..i know much about HTC sensation coz i own that too and have good knowledge of Android stuff...
Can someone tell me what should i do to Root it?
I saw in forums here that unlocking bootloader is via HTCdev and xtc clip...
I don't care about loosing warranty stuff but i want to enable ROOT and flash custom roms and remove the NEXT network animation on boot and remove all bloatwares..
Unlock bootloader and then root the phone. tutorials are in the forums.

Bookmarked... thanks... Will give it a go later..
Hello guys.
When you use htcdev.com to unlock your bootloader, you will have to provide a device identifier to HTC. Then you get an unlock code.
This way HTC knows you have unlocked, or at least tried to unlock your phone.
What I am looking for is someone with a completely unmodified HTC Wildfire S (factory state). So it must be S-ON and never have been unlocked before. Best would be a brand new Wildfire S.
What do I want to test?
Dump the /radio and the /misc partition before and after several events
---- on an unmodified WFS
---- on an umodified WFS having installed the HTCDEV RUU
Then we will try to unlock the phone without getting the unlock token from HTCDEV.
If that works we will again dump some partitions to see what has changed.
As you may probably be new to this with an unlocked phone I will guide you to all the steps needed. There is nothing to worry about your phone. If it does not work we will make your phone as it was before.
I look forward to getting help in this matter. If it works out this will make the unlocking process easier and will keep your warranty.
Please take you about an hour time to step it all through.
Thanks

Sounds like a plan... Got mine A-off months ago, before HTC dev bl unlock existed.

Hello everyone!
I am in dier need of some assistance! I recently got my HTC ONE XL about 3 weeks ago. Aboout 1 week after I got It, I rooted it and unlocked the bootloader... now 3 weeks later I am having problems with my phone.. it is NOT recognizing the sim card AT ALL, so I need it to be sent in to repair.
Anyways, I Unrooted and put the RUU stock rom on my phone:good:. The PROBLEM that I am having is that on bootloader It is saying:
-*RELOCKED*
- S-ON
To get waranty I think that my phone needs to be LOCKED with S-ON ... So is there ANYWAY that I can change the Bootloader from RELOCKED to LOCKED on the HTC ONE X?
.... I need to get full waranty on my phone so it can be fixed because I'm sure ROGERS will notice that the bootloader is: RELOCKED...
*I have looked all over for help but I cannot find anything:crying:*
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!
No you can't change it, and this is the wrong forum for your phone, you need the at&t rogers one x forum so don't flash anything from here or follow any guides or you will have problems. And it depends what is wrong with your phone, if it is hardware fault it sometimes doesn't matter if phone has been unlocked, just stand your ground. Good luck
Bite me
And also, if the company you bought your phone from have got any basic knowledge of android, they will find traces of unlocked/locked bootloader anyway.
I know this is an old phone but my mother was complain about it so I told her I'd see what I could do, the usual method of unlocking the phone via htcdev does not work, just gives me code is to long error, so I turned to the forums looking for way to unlock and root the phone, all I want to do is install CM 10.1 but since I can't even get it unlocked, and it will not downgrade with RUU is come to ask if anyone here is still alive is there a still working method with active links to I can get the job done?
HTC Wildfire S A510e (Marvel), not 2012 version
It is currently locked and branded the 3 UK, Software Number 2.26.771.2

Well first I tried unlocking it via HTC dev but it would not take the code, so I came to the forums and seen that first I have to debrand it, so I'm stuck at debranding since the phone will not allow the firmware to be downgraded, which i learnt then that id have to force downgrade h-boot so I can downgrade the firmware, thats where im at, stuck at debranding -.-

You don't require to debrand to unlock IMHO...............go word by word on the instructions on HTCdev.com, Just proceed to the steps since you have an unlockable bootloader
