The problem is that int2ext script doesn't work on kitkat, and if it works you'll lose radio capability , so no baseband , no radio
If you want more space for app on kitkat, use mount2sd. First download the app , install the script through the app and then configure the script.
Mount everything except , data and system app. Mount2sd script will works, but you'll still see internal memory ( is not like int2ext that shows unified memory) but this time it doesn't get full
My advice is to create a partition of 2GB, not bigger, and use at least a class6 microsd.

I have studied this problem on S5830 (Ace).
Strange thing is int2ext works fine when installed on CM11 (kitkat) !
Wifi is lost as soon as gapps (playstore) is installed...
/data/nvram is missing...
Unfortunately I haven't advanced knowledge of android otherwise i would modify by myself the script. This script is really well done, is very powerful and a lot better than mounts2sd. It's a pity that after jelly bean is not working properly.

I'm working on a mod for kitkat. I have the script installing (int2extV2+) fine, but still facing other problems....
edit: I included mv of hidden files from /data, now working fine!
CM11 + the int2ext script makes Ace run SLOW...
What kind of problems ? Anyway, now i'm using link2sd, with kitkat no problem. I have still 380 mb of free internal memory and 42 apps installed. Apps and games are fast like in super jelly bean 8 . Give it a try.

As anybody who owns a wildfire S , you notice a low internal storage , but now , i learned how to make up much much more internal storage !! All thanks to jikantaru ! Lets cut through to the requirements !
Requirements :
1. A rom with a2sd or apps2sd (ex: Jikantaru rom , Wildfire S Cracker)
2. Link2SD
3. CWM recovery
4. Android terminal emulator or adb .
5. Permanent Rooted Phone , which means unlocked bootloader or s-off + root
Process :
1. Backup your SDcard and apps because everything on it might be erased
2. Reboot into CWM
3. Go to advanced
4. Partition SDcard ( choose anything , recommended 512 MB or higher )
5. Swap size any ( recommend 64 MB or higher )
6. Wait till it finishes , it will take a while .
7. reboot and open up Link2SD
8. It will ask you for SD second partition , choose ext3 . (if it didn't continue to the next steps of 9 )
9 a) **Do this only if step 8 wasn't prompted** Go to Link2sd's "more"
b) choose Recreate mount scripts
c) choose ext3
10. reboot the phone , it will take 2-5 mins , so don't remove the battery nor the SDcard .
11. after it boots , go to link2sd , then Storage info , you should see Sdcard 2nd partition mounted , this approves everything is alright
12. Here you have two choices to do , just do any of you want ( choice "a" is easier )
a) for ones with the terminal , type in "su" , then type in "a2sd cachesdreset"
b) for ones with adb , enable USB debugging then open a cmd , cd to the adb location , then type "adb shell" , then "su" , then "a2sd cachedreset" .
13 . Now the phone should reboot ( it would take 2-5 mins , don't touch battery or SDcard )
Additional : Now since you got a 2nd partition , you can link apps to this partition , by pressing any app or multiselect a group of apps and select the Create Link option (for multiselect , press Menu then Actions) , it might require you to quick reboot for every linked app but this will backup and free your internal memory and it is very useful for Large apps and games ! More over in link2sd setting there is an option to Autolink any newly installed app , so flick it !
Now by that you have finished the thing ! Go to sd and phone storage in settings , and you will notice the internal storage is now 108 MB , Now any app you install on phone memory you just go to link2sd and move it to sdcard , by this , the sdcard is acting as internal storage !!! Install any app you want ! Please Post your feedback !!!
NOTE : the original app2sd that comes with link2sd still takes from the internal storage a big part , so this tutorial will make a partition of the sdcard act as internal storage , which is totally amazing especially for the picky and annoying low Wildfire S internal storage. This was Jikantaru's tutorial originally but Jikantaru's needed more explanation especially for newbies , so i did the thing and it is totally working . BTW , I learn and explain in my way
Again all Thanks a lot for jikantaru !!
Sry if this sounds kinda dumb, but i'm a little confused with all these a2sd, link2sd, data2sd etc. stuff.
Do you know if the CM 7.2 nightlies are a2sd enabled, so this will work?
Tried it and in Terminal Emulator it says "a2sd not found"
Thanks in advance
Thx... this tutorial works great for me, after install a bunch of apps, the internal memory still have 130MB free...

Meh, I gave up on Link2SD... as my apps keep dissapearing on boot ( apk still on sd-ext, but android not listing the apps).. and SD card gets corrupted and erases itself...
Might just try to repartition the /system & /data for more space...
Thanks, I can finally fit stuff on my phone haha. Now all we need is a fully working CM7 port.

There's an option on link2sd (menu - more - clear all app caches), what different with that?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S A510e
Clearing the app caches is what it says , but the a2sd cachesdreset more like creates a dalvik cache to sd flag which empties A LOT , but after doing this , if you try removing the SD while the phone is booted it will FREEZE , then after rebooting you will notice that the storage is low again ! unless you reinsert the SD and reboot , the flag will be reactivated ...
Dosen't work
Hey guys. i am fiddling with this link2sd software for weeks now. long story short, when i use a2sd cachesdreset command, phone restart ok. but after booting into the htc homescreen, errors keep popping up, google services fails to load etc etc.
& if i reboot, the phone is stuck on white screen with HTC logo forever( kept it running for 1 hour hoping it will load but .. hmm )
only way to get back is to get the sd card out, but then after reboot, THE APPLICATION IS NO LONGER INSTALLED error appears.
PLS PLS GUIDE ME GUYS i am a noob here. Thanks.
PS: don't wanna use data2sd as i am on class4 8GB card & it too slow for me

If it is possible to use SD-card for storing some of the system folders on wildfire S ?
I`m using Link2SD - it is awesome! But after installing apps even after moving/linking them to SD looks like there is still something stayed on the internal memory. Finally after installing some amount of apps - you do not have any more free space on internal.
One more similar question - how to change "downloads" directory to some folder on SD? If you have still some free space on Internal (for example 20mb) and you want to update some application which need 21mb (and it is already installed) - you will not be able to do it, because there is no enough space on internal. So you must delete your app, download the updated installation file and install it. Is it possible to download apps directly to the SD ?

about second thing download app i dont know about it..but it can solve by clearing cache(delete downloaded app )
and yeah there is one script which can provide you space upto 1 GB and its fast, stable.use int2ext from cronmod.(your rom should have init.d support)

int2ext will only work if you flash it right after flashing rom..it's not like you can flash that script anytime.
but you can use titanium backup and backup all your data then flash your rom again and then flash int2ext and format /sd-ext and reboot.
you will have now 1 GB space.(As per your sd-ext partition)
and yeah rom should have init.d support.

Hi , i have a big problem with my internal storage . I deleted alot of apps what came with gapps and moved all my installed apps on sdcard but for nothing ( i have 18mb free on internal storage . What can i do ?
L.E. I tryed this tutorial from here : http://www.xperiablog.net/2011/12/12/link2sd-guide-never-worry-about-internal-memory-limits-again/ and now i have 56mb free... It's possible to gain more ?
Yes you can use S2E from playstore , wich moves your apps to SD , be careful though i believe it doesn`t work on ICS or JB , not sure though. Also you can use Cronmod int2ext from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716124. I personally used int2ext4+ and gained about 1 Gb of data on internal (apps are still installed on SD but that`s how it appears on manage apps) but you can try whatever suits you from there , just read the tutorial, it`s very easy. Good luck.
the simplest resolution of your problem.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398797
the int2ext4+ script does the same as link2sd. in my opinion if you have a good sd card atleast class 6 use int2ext4 (without the +) because it moves all the data to sdcard, and the internal storage will stay free
I have a Class 10 , 8 Gb , yes it does it`s job , but lately i completely dismissed the whole internal memory expanding thing , whatever you use you end up having a slower phone overall after just a few apps , now i keep only the apps that i need and delete anything else not useful.
I flashed int2ext4 but nothing happend ...

link2sd and int2ext4+ they leave data in internal storage and after some time will get full.
int2ext4 trasfers all the data to the ext4 partition and the internal storage stays free
I flashed int2ext4 and i mounted system before flashing . After reboot ? Surprise all my apps force close :| . I need to reinstall my rom now :| .Why i have this problem ? I tryed to flash that script 2 times and 2 times screw up my rom .
Hi Guys, this is for those running on HTC Desire and want to upgrade to JB 4.2.2
Those who are on the HTC Desire will surely know that the internal memory sucks. Question is how to increase. I used to used Data2SD and it worked well with CM7, when I finally upgraded to CM10.1 Data2Sd did not work, so I tried many versions and finally got it to work. Here are the steps.
1. Do a clean/factory
2. Wipe/ Cache/Dalvik
3. Recreate partition table. (Recommended 1.5GB) to be your internal memory. I tested higher than this and phone started to go bonkers!
4. Create partition in EXT4 (Recommended)
5. Flash ROM ( I used VJ's 4.2.2) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2070704 (This works the BEST and the most stable to date for HTC Desire)
6. Install from ZIP - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716124 (This is where the magic happens) It will trick your phone into thinking you have an internal memory of 1.5GB - DOWNLOAD INT2EXTV2+ (works like a charm)
7. Reboot and let your phone stabilize...!
8. Enjoy!....
Do give a shout out to those developers who did a fantastic job with the development!:highfive:
Cheers!

Data2SD was always risky depending on which ROM or version of the script. I think only Droidzone's Sense ROM was the only one to have it stable enough.
CM7 worked better with S-OFF, cm7r2 hboot and a simple A2SD script like S2E or darktremor to moves apps and dalvik to sd-ext
With CM10.1, you could have also used S2E app to move apps and dalvik
2. Wipe/ Cache/Dalvik

Waste of time. Don't need to do this. A factory data reset and fresh ROM install will wipe this already.

People have reported the maximum successful is around 2GB, although 'recommended' size depends on how many apps the user wants to install, and is as high as the sdcard can spare.
Partition should be created with 4EXT recovery or gparted, not CWM or minitool

As above, most ROMs either have their own A2SD scripts built in or you need to activate it. Other scripts merely replicate exactly the same thing, they already trick apps to sd-ext, but some like int2ext mount the sd-ext as internal.

It likely did work, but you just expected your internal memory to look like it had increased ('internal + sd-ext'), when it was probably being used as you intended.
With A2SD you just keep your apps on 'internal', it tricks the apps and dalvik to sd-ext. It doesn't really matter if your internal memory doesn't appear to increase, as long as the partition is actually being used. You could have checked with another app like DiskUsage. More info here
Remember it doesn't matter which magic script you flash, none of them actually physically change the sizes of any of your internal memory or sd-ext partitions. They remain exactly the same size as when you created them.
All the script does it tell the ROM which bits of the app to move where. Admittedly, some scripts 'look' better if your internal memory appears to go up..
All you need to do is understand how all your partitions are being used depending on which script you flash. In simplified terms, with apps you have 3 main elements, the app apk, the davik and the app data. Most scripts will move the app apk and dalvik to sd-ext, and keep app data on your actual nand internal memory for speed and stability.
To optimise your app space on the Desire, there are 3 main requirements:
- S-OFF with optimal hboot for the ROM depending on it's /system size, e.g. cm7r2 hboot for CM7 ROM
- Correctly partitioned sdcard
- Compatible A2SD script
hi all,
the main reason for me unlocking my arc s was to mount an ext4 partition so there was no more agro with running out of internal ram.
ive tried various roms with various kernals and various scripts, the closest i got to one working was latest vengeance + latest viper + int2ext4+
but it kept lagging on video and internet..
i really liked viper but hdmi missing so waiting or 6.5....
ive just put lupusv16 + UHD4 + UHD mod and it is very impressive, the screen is better almost as stock with bravia2, hdmi very good and camera also very good, the question is which script definatly works properly with this setup? i dont want to move swap to int, just link ext4 on sd to int ram ??
cheers

Hi,
i plugged my 8gb sd card into my laptop and wiped it, then created a 6gb fat 32 partition, a 1.7gb ext4 partition & the remainder about 300mb as swap. then mounted fat copied hd4 rom, hd4 mod and int2ext to it. then into phone, booted to recovery, installed rom as per thread, rebooted phone, left it 20 mins, booted to recovery, flashed hd4 mod, rebooted phone, left for 20 mins, booted to recovery, installed int2ext script. rebooted phone, then it hangs on boot..
from what ive seen the int2ext scripts are difficult to get working correctly with no lag, fc's ect.
cheers

First of you are on ICS 4.0.4/stock fw 0587 aren't you.
Cos lupus kernel ver16 is for ICS.
Like what angel said both has got to be primary.
Your 6gb/primary/Fat32
Your 1.6gb/primary/Ext4
You should delete link2sd,or any other CronMod extension versions from your sdcard before you flash the CronMod INTEXT2.
After done flashing go to mount n storage and format sd-ext.Reboot.
If everything goes well look in titanium backup or setting/storage.It will show the internal memory you just acquired.
If you get bootloop after that then wipe cache and delvic cache and reflash it again following the above procedure again.
But I don't think you'll come to that.If all requirements are met than its a piece of cake.
Try it again. And one more thing,it doesn't lag if not it only faster from my experience using it.
Tell us of the outcome.By the way clicking the thanks button would be sufficient enough to anyone who assist you in the future here on xda.
Cheers.

Tell us of the outcome.By the way clicking the thanks button would be sufficient enough to anyone who assist you in the future here on xda.
Cheers.

thanks dude,
its working, i formatted it with recovery and it worked?, i then checked the partition on my laptop and it wasnt bootable but it still works?
i then deleted the ext4 partition on my laptop and repartitioned it and didnt make it bootable and the phone booted straight up working.
i did use int2ext+ this time and not int2ext
dont know why it didnt work before unless something had put a file on the partition?
anyway
cheers

Had you tried use an app for linking the ext rather than just install a script? I know that it's basically the same but still...
By the way, this is what i do, and its working:
0- Make a nandroid backup
1- Install Mini partition tool wizard
2- Clear the sd - Clic on apply
3- Create a new fat32 partition (13355 MB, 13GB) Default cluster and set as primary - apply
4- In the unnalocated space make the ext 4 partition (2GB - Journal) set as primary - apply
5- Copy the backup into the sd
6- format everything like when you install a new rom
7- restore
8- Download link2sd and select the ext partition
9- Reset
10- Move apps to it :/
My sd card is class 10 but honestly i dont feel so much difference with a class 4 :/

Thanks for taking the time to reply
i re installed rom & mod again, tested game and it was fine, so its def the script, i used int2ext this time instead and it was slightly better as it leaves data on internal for speed so im going to leave it untill i get a class 10 card then try int2ext again.
cheers
