Hi , i have a big problem with my internal storage . I deleted alot of apps what came with gapps and moved all my installed apps on sdcard but for nothing ( i have 18mb free on internal storage . What can i do ?
L.E. I tryed this tutorial from here : http://www.xperiablog.net/2011/12/12/link2sd-guide-never-worry-about-internal-memory-limits-again/ and now i have 56mb free... It's possible to gain more ?
Yes you can use S2E from playstore , wich moves your apps to SD , be careful though i believe it doesn`t work on ICS or JB , not sure though. Also you can use Cronmod int2ext from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716124. I personally used int2ext4+ and gained about 1 Gb of data on internal (apps are still installed on SD but that`s how it appears on manage apps) but you can try whatever suits you from there , just read the tutorial, it`s very easy. Good luck.
the simplest resolution of your problem.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398797
the int2ext4+ script does the same as link2sd. in my opinion if you have a good sd card atleast class 6 use int2ext4 (without the +) because it moves all the data to sdcard, and the internal storage will stay free
I have a Class 10 , 8 Gb , yes it does it`s job , but lately i completely dismissed the whole internal memory expanding thing , whatever you use you end up having a slower phone overall after just a few apps , now i keep only the apps that i need and delete anything else not useful.
I flashed int2ext4 but nothing happend ...

link2sd and int2ext4+ they leave data in internal storage and after some time will get full.
int2ext4 trasfers all the data to the ext4 partition and the internal storage stays free
I flashed int2ext4 and i mounted system before flashing . After reboot ? Surprise all my apps force close :| . I need to reinstall my rom now :| .Why i have this problem ? I tryed to flash that script 2 times and 2 times screw up my rom .

Hey Guys , I need some help with SD card partition.
I'm using HTC desire 16 GB SD card , my device is rooted and I have been all over this tutorial :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016084
which means that I have S-Off Precedure With Alpharev too.
I have partition my Sd Card With Gparted.
I have logged to unix , created a 3 partitions ,first one is the fat32 12 gb , second ext3 2GB, and about 200MB of swap partition....
In addition I have installed new room, the : [ROM] LeeDrOiD 2.4.1 A2SD
The thing is , that after partitions my sd card I have expected to have about 2 GB of available internal memory (setting -> sd & phone storage -> Available space )
I have expected to observe about the size of my ext3 partition size in the available space . - in the internal phone storage.
It's seems to be the the phone is unable to recognize the ext3 partition, and locate in as an internal memory.
What shall I do in order to expand my (virtual) internal memory ?
( I have look over most tutorial in the forum )
(I went through the partitions tutorial , specially this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7V64S6cEkGw&feature=player_embedded
but it's seems to have no effect over the memory )
BTW, I have tried GParted , and rom manager as well , both gave me the same results.
Cheers
Shahar
I'd like to know how to create
That is not how a2sd+ works, your internal memory won't increase. It just goes down slower. Use titanium backup to see if your ext is recognised.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App
Tea because ext isn't internal storage. Its on your SD card so its classed as external storage, thus the size wont change. There are a couple, if that, just 1 rom that actually changes it but other than that, it doesnt change.
You also don't need swap. Especially the 200mb of swap will greatly slow down your phone as TheGhost said. Remove it and have about 1GB or ext and you will be fine. When you flash a rom, install a few apps and see of they're installing to ext.

Hey TheGhost1233
And thanks for your help
I was watching a friend of mine from school , the guy using the same phone (HTC Desire) , and he were able to change his internal memory to 1.33 Gb !!! (I was so impressed) ,
Do you know how has he done that ?
I remember the mentioned running a script from xda .... (I was searching the forum all over)
Is there any way to change my internal memory storage to 1.333 GB, as a virtual memory over my SD card storage.
Cheers
Shahar
Maybe your friend uses a rom with data2sd script from sibere (Starburst ROM uses it see here)

Are you sure about the swap partitions ? I'm familiar with the unix platform, and a swap partition is very essential.
do you know which rom changes the internal memory ?
And I have spotted my partition using titanium backup ....
What kind of things I can do with that partition ?
Thanks

I want to ask if the starburstrom has built-in Data2SD or I have to run the script seperately ???
It's not built in. But on Starburst website (mentioned above) you get all you need to activate it. It's easy. Just follow the instructions on the site.

Do I need to s-off my desire firstly for using Data2SD ?
Not at all!
I found that the Data2Sd installer has different series: X, W and Tiny series.
Which one should I need to use?....thx
As anybody who owns a wildfire S , you notice a low internal storage , but now , i learned how to make up much much more internal storage !! All thanks to jikantaru ! Lets cut through to the requirements !
Requirements :
1. A rom with a2sd or apps2sd (ex: Jikantaru rom , Wildfire S Cracker)
2. Link2SD
3. CWM recovery
4. Android terminal emulator or adb .
5. Permanent Rooted Phone , which means unlocked bootloader or s-off + root
Process :
1. Backup your SDcard and apps because everything on it might be erased
2. Reboot into CWM
3. Go to advanced
4. Partition SDcard ( choose anything , recommended 512 MB or higher )
5. Swap size any ( recommend 64 MB or higher )
6. Wait till it finishes , it will take a while .
7. reboot and open up Link2SD
8. It will ask you for SD second partition , choose ext3 . (if it didn't continue to the next steps of 9 )
9 a) **Do this only if step 8 wasn't prompted** Go to Link2sd's "more"
b) choose Recreate mount scripts
c) choose ext3
10. reboot the phone , it will take 2-5 mins , so don't remove the battery nor the SDcard .
11. after it boots , go to link2sd , then Storage info , you should see Sdcard 2nd partition mounted , this approves everything is alright
12. Here you have two choices to do , just do any of you want ( choice "a" is easier )
a) for ones with the terminal , type in "su" , then type in "a2sd cachesdreset"
b) for ones with adb , enable USB debugging then open a cmd , cd to the adb location , then type "adb shell" , then "su" , then "a2sd cachedreset" .
13 . Now the phone should reboot ( it would take 2-5 mins , don't touch battery or SDcard )
Additional : Now since you got a 2nd partition , you can link apps to this partition , by pressing any app or multiselect a group of apps and select the Create Link option (for multiselect , press Menu then Actions) , it might require you to quick reboot for every linked app but this will backup and free your internal memory and it is very useful for Large apps and games ! More over in link2sd setting there is an option to Autolink any newly installed app , so flick it !
Now by that you have finished the thing ! Go to sd and phone storage in settings , and you will notice the internal storage is now 108 MB , Now any app you install on phone memory you just go to link2sd and move it to sdcard , by this , the sdcard is acting as internal storage !!! Install any app you want ! Please Post your feedback !!!
NOTE : the original app2sd that comes with link2sd still takes from the internal storage a big part , so this tutorial will make a partition of the sdcard act as internal storage , which is totally amazing especially for the picky and annoying low Wildfire S internal storage. This was Jikantaru's tutorial originally but Jikantaru's needed more explanation especially for newbies , so i did the thing and it is totally working . BTW , I learn and explain in my way
Again all Thanks a lot for jikantaru !!
Sry if this sounds kinda dumb, but i'm a little confused with all these a2sd, link2sd, data2sd etc. stuff.
Do you know if the CM 7.2 nightlies are a2sd enabled, so this will work?
Tried it and in Terminal Emulator it says "a2sd not found"
Thanks in advance
Thx... this tutorial works great for me, after install a bunch of apps, the internal memory still have 130MB free...

Meh, I gave up on Link2SD... as my apps keep dissapearing on boot ( apk still on sd-ext, but android not listing the apps).. and SD card gets corrupted and erases itself...
Might just try to repartition the /system & /data for more space...
Thanks, I can finally fit stuff on my phone haha. Now all we need is a fully working CM7 port.

There's an option on link2sd (menu - more - clear all app caches), what different with that?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S A510e
Clearing the app caches is what it says , but the a2sd cachesdreset more like creates a dalvik cache to sd flag which empties A LOT , but after doing this , if you try removing the SD while the phone is booted it will FREEZE , then after rebooting you will notice that the storage is low again ! unless you reinsert the SD and reboot , the flag will be reactivated ...
Dosen't work
Hey guys. i am fiddling with this link2sd software for weeks now. long story short, when i use a2sd cachesdreset command, phone restart ok. but after booting into the htc homescreen, errors keep popping up, google services fails to load etc etc.

Hello
After using some of custom rom's, i returned to stock rom because of battery life. And now i have problem with flashing mods in recovery (like extended power menu). I have about 40MB free space on phone, my apps are linked2sd, my rom is deodexed with this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1600805 .
When I'm flashing something in recovery, after system startup i see a message about low internal memory level. Some app's are missing (like google play). Link2sd is going crazy, sometimes he said that he doesn't have root access, other time he tells me that he need debugging USB on, I'm turning it on but he tells mi it again and i can see that debugging is off. When I finaly launch link2sd and I'm moving first app to link2sd, he shows me a progress bar and I'm waiting for weeks and nothing is happening.

and dont worry about that 100 MB..wildfire s have around 512 MB total internal space include whole system.so you can partition your sdcard upto 2 GB. bt keep it 500 MB or 1 GB.it will works fine.
that script put ur system apps on sd-ext and dont wry nothing will slow down..same as link2sd.bt it works very good.
but do clean install like flashed that script after installing rom.i am not sure about it ll work on installed rom or not so.

yeah.sd-ext meaning ext2/ext3/ext4 partition.
so how link2sd works without this partitions?
when you installed link2sd and open app.it will show you to mount partition like ext2/ext3/ext4.so which is your partition you should click on that, then restart your phone and then link2sd ll work.
same with other scripts..no scripts works with fat32.

If it is possible to use SD-card for storing some of the system folders on wildfire S ?
I`m using Link2SD - it is awesome! But after installing apps even after moving/linking them to SD looks like there is still something stayed on the internal memory. Finally after installing some amount of apps - you do not have any more free space on internal.
One more similar question - how to change "downloads" directory to some folder on SD? If you have still some free space on Internal (for example 20mb) and you want to update some application which need 21mb (and it is already installed) - you will not be able to do it, because there is no enough space on internal. So you must delete your app, download the updated installation file and install it. Is it possible to download apps directly to the SD ?

int2ext will only work if you flash it right after flashing rom..it's not like you can flash that script anytime.
but you can use titanium backup and backup all your data then flash your rom again and then flash int2ext and format /sd-ext and reboot.
you will have now 1 GB space.(As per your sd-ext partition)
and yeah rom should have init.d support.

I get some problems now. I have a lot of free space on system (>200mb), but when GooglePlay is trying to update apps - "Low disk space" message appear. Looks like some folder which is used for temporary gplay downloads is still on phones memory.
How to fix this?
anybody can help?
Hey guys,
I have searched so many threads and still I have issue with low space.
Currently I'm on CM11, partitioned an 8GB external sdcard to fat32 and ext2 (1GB). Link2sd is running fine. However when my internal space reaches around 800MB, I can't install apps anymore!!!
I have also used internal to external app and ext2sd from k2wl...it does swap space but the issue is I can't install any apps after that. Is there a better way to work around this issue?
Thanks in advance

remove unnecessary storage apps and just keep link2sd
also wipe sd ext in recovery and remount script then see if it works
if it does not work in current rom i think will definitely work in a fresh rom

Yeah I did format system and sdcard, got 3.7 back from internal memory and created ext2 for link2sd so far so good, wish there was a way to get the other extra 4gb
