The possibility of flashing different modems was discussed in a couple different threads and I was wondering if there was any progress on it. I am on an unlocked e971 on the Sasktel network and their LTE network goes live tomorrow. Sasktel sells the e973 so I am assuming I will be unable to use LTE but my fingers are crossed they support the 2600MHz band. Is this a software issue (still hope) or hardware issue (I'm ****ed)?

All our test on doing that didnt end well. Either we had to send phone to repair, either it didnt work.
Fair enough, thanks for your help.

Why would you have to send your phone in for repair from just changing the modem? That is weird imo... Back with the Captivate, using the incorrect modem just resulted in no signal. Flash again in CWM with correct modem and you're good to go.

sasktel update
I did some googling and found that Sasktel is using 1700/2100 MHz (same as telus) in phase 1 and using 700 MHz later on. Looks like I will be waiting till the auction for LTE :bad: but on the bright side the development for this device seems to be picking up :good:

I swapped out my Rogers modem for a Bell modem via adb yesterday while messing with the E975 rom and every thing worked just fine.

I'm not you so I don't know what you tried. But there is definitely a bunch of modems out there and hard to believe that the wrong modem will brick a phone, especially when we got CWM, Download Mode, etc.
Well Chad and Houstonn experimented and both killed their radio.
It's probably safe to swap within Canadian carriers and not otherwise.

As long as there is a Rogers modem and can be done in CWM, then I'd love to give it a try. Obviously you can't connect to the network using Korean modem. They use different frequencies...

Not sure if trolling or stupid.
However, looking at the recent post you made i'll go with the stupid.
I flashed korean modem. I had no network. I flashed back my old modem (It was even the same as i had on my phone cause i made a backup). I could still not connect to network. I Tried different modem. I could still not connect to the network. Houstonn have same problem.
I think i made my sentence simple enough now.

The flash probably broke something else then. Out of all the phones I've used and flashed, not one has resulted in a situation that you are describing. But whatever. I'm just trying to help and suggest things that could have happened or been missed. Clearly help is not appreciated here.
I would like to know if M919V is like twin identical model to T-mobile M919.
I was wondering if T-mobil ROMs, Radios and Kernels can be flashed unto M919V. Does anyone know the difference between the two models?
Anyone who owns M919V confirm?

The radios and kernels are the only difference I see, data is also different, with the right kernel and or modem, yes they can work. So, I do not think you could use them, it may put the phone into a bootloop. At least that is what I am seeing with the i337 and the i337M
So are they any different hardware wise? If only difference between them were softwares then flashing same roms kernels and radios would make them identical right? Nobody owns a m919v?

Hey guys, so I recently rooted my LG Optimus 4G LTE P935 Phone, and put in CyanogenMod 10.1. Since then I am getting very little to no 4G speeds, and sometimes drops completely. I was reading online that this could be due to old fragmented files etc. I am wondering what the procedure is to perform a full wipe/clean of my phone,to remove all files, then just flash the rom back on again?
Thanks in advance.

If I am not mistaken that is a Korean baseband and could be the source of the problem. Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1842763

I have the Metro t999n All the 999 roms flash fine But the Edge" and Lte icon isn't there.. I understand you can flash any t999 rom to the lte capable phones but Not the opposite.
Its my understanding t999L and t999n modem/radio zips are compatible with t999 roms.
I tried to flash one of doc holidays Lte modems thats claimed to be compatible to enable lte on the t999n running any 999 rom and still get no Data besides edge.

The modems for T999L/N DO NOT AS IN NOT meant for T999. That's fastest way to brick.
Now having said that, before we get ahead of ourselves, kindly elaborate what was the basis for you concluding that there is no LTE ? Would it be just the lack of Icons on the Notification Area or something more (such as true speed test)?
flashing modems between the T999 variants doesnt actually brick. you just get no service.
if you have a T999L/N, and flash a T999 based rom, you should be able to still get LTE from the N or L modems. Depending on the rom, it just may not display in the statusbar.
start a download, check settings, about device, status, network type for your true connection.

Actually I never stated my question in the manner In Which you took it as and answered... my issue is the opposite I'm not flashing t999n or L modems on a t999 device I'm flashing t999 based roms on the t999N/L device
When the flshsing is complete its just signal bars no sign of a 4g icon or lte either. .. even when mobile data is on .
That's why I asked does it require flashing a modem or kernel and modules or From what doc holiday says that just cause we see no icon we still may have data...
Its just a simple question really..
What do I need to do because the 999 roms I happened to flash are both 4.1.1 which I assume won't work with a 4.1.2 md7 kernel or modem

Funny but strange..ive never seen any device or heard of one actually getting true data with working Web without the visual icon of Lte, 4g, 3g edge 1x or g Icon Actually displayed.
Just signal bars usually means signal for calls.

i cant say one way or another on the 4.1.1 roms, but this is all covered a few times in the T999L thread. T999 roms cannot display lte because they dont even include the icon i dont think. lots have confirmed by looking at settings that they do indeed have lte. even if it doesnt say so in the statusbar.
pre-4.3, it should not matter what modem you use. if you fibd otherwise thrn you will just have to stick to 4.1.2 roms. others have reported it works fine either way.
so if you have a T999L and flash a T999 rom, but cannot get LTE, try another rom. if you still cant get lte, the problem may lie with your device and or setup.

They look the same. Psx and cm are more customizable. Looking at the cm thread, seems they are not getting the best battery life. But on psx it is amazing. On any other rom EVER i have never gotten battery life this good.

Dang... No matter what I try, I can't get any network signal with PSX on my F180S. Tried settings and steps recommended by @davevinci to no avail. Also tried experimenting with some different values for those build.prop items related to the modem/RIL/network after reviewing and comparing build.prop files from ROMs that work for me. Nothing seems to do the trick. Looks like I am out of luck, at least for now... Reverted to 4.1.2, which works perfectly.
I am curious, did anyone with a Korean F180x (not E97x!) in Canada or in the US actually make any 4.4 ROM work (not just PSX, but anything)? For some reason, nothing but stock-based ROMS seems to work for me so far. Not a big deal, as I am pretty happy with stock at the moment, but would like to see it working properly on my phone...

Yeah, I can see you are in Philippines. I was looking for someone local here just to make sure we are dealing with the same networks and freq. bands.
The phone says "No Service", no matter what. I did a bit of research on the build.prop lines that you are referencing, and tried changing them to different values (your settings seem to be for CDMA with LTE only), but nothing worked so far. For the time being, I am giving up experiments, unless someone with the same phone on Canadian or American GSM carrier can tell me what exactly they did to make it work.
Like I said, it's not a big deal -- I am not desperately trying to make 4.4 work, but rather just curious about it...

Looks like you added this question later, I didn't see it when I responded... Actually, I tried both. First, I just made changes and rebooted. But later, every time I made a change to a build.prop, I updated it in the zip package, and did a new flash every time after a full wipe.

I just need a stable working phone now, so I wont be experimenting with it for some time...
