When I try to read or write anything on my phone I get permission denied. I'm trying to do a backup with titanium pro. The only way I found to create a folder is with root browser. HELP PLEASE! this is making me crazy.

It's related. Flash the stock but permissive ND8 kernel CNexus posted in Development, then no other fix will be necessary for internal or external. Or flash Ktoonsez' latest TouchWiz 4.4 kernel.

Good Morning,

[Q] Will a 4.3 ROM (like CM 10.2) work with the ND8 modem?

Currently running stock 4.4.2 (ND8) and looking to try out Cyanogenmod 10.2, which is 4.3
The only other phone I have any experience flashing ROMs on was a Sprint S2 (D710) and no custom ROMs were compatible with its Jellybean modem, so you had to flash an old modem separately. Is there any similar situation with this phone? Does it make any difference that I'm trying to flash a 4.3 ROM? I'm not very familiar with how that stuff works.
This will answer a lot of your questions.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2743554
But yes you can flash any ROM you like, still, but do not ever try to downgrade your modem (or bootloader) now that you're on the full Knox ND8 bootloader. You'll hard brick your phone if you do.
I have no personal experience with just how well the "old" ROMs work with the ND8 modem, FYI.

[Q] wicked x 6.5 Google search fc

Title says it all. Google search fc's if I try to open an image from the image search. Chrome also seems to have issues loading pages. I would post in the Rom thread but I don't know that it's directly related to the Rom.
What should I do? Anyone else having this problem?
there was a patch in the wicked x rom thread somewhere near the 70 to 80 page range that fixed the force close on clicking images in google search and google+ i flashed it and it worked. id search the thread for it.
Search for the edge zoom disable zip. There's probably a link to it in post #3 of the Wicked X v6.5 thread.
The latest Play services update made their edge zoom mod break and caused symptoms like that.

Strange problem after STOCK ROM 4.4 ND8 Kitkat ROM

Since I cant ask this question in the dev thread I have to ask here. I updated my phone to the [STOCK ROM][4.4] ND8 Kitkat ROM. Which is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2741413 seems to be working fine except that I dont think I can write to my Internal Card. Here are the strange problems I'm getting. I cannot see any thumbnails for pictures on dropbox or onedrive. I also get thumbnail failed to load. When I try and open a file on Dropbox it says. Storage full or unavailable. I know I have enough storage. Which make me think its not letting it write to the internal mem card. I did add the external sd write fix from the Play store. But for some reason I think something went wrong with the internal card. Can anyone shed some light ?
Flash either Cnexus' permissive version of the stock kernel, or use Ktoonsez and the problem should go away. It sounds like the feature of 4.4.2 that makes things more secure, but until apps are rewritten to handle the SD card differently, you'll have that problem with an enforcing kernel.

Thanks for your help. Since you mentioned the Permissive I did a google seach and found SELinux Mode Changer in the play store which worked great. Thanks for your help.
I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2747586 and removed the app from the play store which looks like it does the same thing but its better. Thanks for your help
You're welcome, glad you found a couple of solutions.

Any do's and don't s noob guides?

Okay so I recently got this galaxy phone and I was wondering if there's any guys off any important things I should be aware of or anything I shouldn't do with this phone, I found one of them
I used to develop for the Xperia Play so I get the gist of ROM making and stuff like that other than the new base that change for the galaxy
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2154983
But I would like to know anything else

Hi! Welcome! First thing, if the phone is on stock TouchWiz 4.3 or 4.4.2, don't ever try to downgrade your bootloader or modem. Flash any ROM, even older ROMs, but to must keep your bootloader and modem (not normally flashed by a custom ROM or normally backed up by a nandroid.
Failure to heed this can result in a unrecoverable bricked phone.

Like I said, custom ROMs don't contain bootloaders or modems. There's a PC program called Odin used to flash original, unaltered stock ROMs from the manufacturer in tar format (sometimes within a zip you'd extract). Those contain both. So never Odin am older version of stock than what bootloader and modem you're currently on, which is in your About menu. You can also find modems people have packaged to flash in custom recovery. ND8 and NDC are the only "interchangeable" ones if your phone is on the ND8 or NDC bootloader.

ok, im a NDC
also i was wondering if it was possible to cross flash roms WITH CARE i know your not supposed to flash a different carrier brand on your galaxy thats like the first thing i saw. But i also was reading on how to port other carriers to other branded galaxies.
but on another note my phone is currently not activated to i do not care about calling or signal ATM so i was wondering if i can replace the boot.img in a Samsung S3 E210L rom and flash it? is that still bad?
the reason i ask is i really want to try the miui v5 Kitkat based ver 4.7.4 and the Samsung S3 E210L is due for the update soon, i want to install that phones os on my sprint L710 galaxy 3.

I don't think I've seen any porting of other phone's ROMs at all available for the SPH-L710. If you want to do the work yourself...I know nothing about it really.
It was very common when I had the HTC Droid Eris. Newer stock ROMs from the HTC Desire and other HTC phones were ported over for us. I'm pretty sure there's official versions of MIUI available in our development section, though.

i was reading this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069850
Same phone different carrier so 99% the same hardware minus the radio
I did this a lot for my xperia play. My model number is R800x which is CDMA and the ROMs I mainly used were R800i GSM ROMs and the only thing that happened was radio didnt work. But for this phone it could be very different.
If you could become the master of porting TouchWiz once 4.4.4 and / or 5.0 are released, that'd be cool. ☺
