No they do definitely not! It works like a charm...
Skickat från min Arc S med ICS
Well... It all depends on your region. But if you unlock your bootloader, then it does not matter. Here are lot of things and ROMs to test on this forum, including the latest builds.

You do NOT need to unlock your bootloader to flash the latest official ICS.

He said it because not of all regions can be upgraded to ICS now
So he can up to any custom rom with unlocked bootloader

Again, wrong.
The ICS update may not have been released for his specific SI # or carrier, but any phone can flash any FTF file.
Rogers (Canada) won't be releasing ICS for another few weeks yet I had ICS a week ago.

"The reason for this is that Sony believes the new update may be less stable than Gingerbread.
Apparently the company wants to allow users to make 'an informed decision' over the upgrade and whether or not they want the new features at the possible expense of stability."
And I remember Sony saying ICS uses 30mb more RAM (on stock)
Where did that quote come from?
I'd say ICS is more stable so far. I used to get a few apps closing and regular pauses on some applications for no reason at all.
Not had any of that on ICS so far!! Also seems to run fine speed wise, even if it does use more RAM.
Fingers crossed, but all way better than 2.3.4 so far.

[Q] Unlocked Bootloader and Rooting

Hi, I am new to Android and rooting and had a couple questions. I will be getting the Xperia Play R800x soon. If you get the bootloader unlocked from SE, do you still need to root the device? I have been trying to get everything ready for when I get the phone. I have Android SDK and Flashtool installed. If I want to get the NXT Light Edition Rom, do I need a custom kernel as well? Thanks.

If you get your bootloader unlocked and flash a custom kernel/ROM no you dont need to root as nearly all, if not all come with root. Seen as you have flashtool and everything else use a custom kernel. If you want to return to stock then just reflash a ftf file for r800x , make sure you dont flash a ftf for r800i though. I dont have the link handy but there is a thread here with all ftf files. Just search in XdA

Just a heads up.... The NXT light rom is gsm... It won't work on the r800x

Thank you Wedgess and Lordomn. Since the NXT light is for the GSM version, would you recommend the COLA rom, or maybe SlimBean or CM9?

Think CosmicDans MIUI for ICS is for cdma. Id say its probably one of the best performance wise for ICS. You could also check out my PACMan ROM gor JB i uploaded a cdma version which works fine touchpads are also supported, camera/video ect works. Also instead of saying thanks click the thanks button instead

[help] zl bootloop

Friends, help.
My phone is having reboots on 4.3 rom be it any nationality.
Initially I thought it was due to the use of Xposed, but these bootloops have become an endless routine in my life.
Only in 4.2.2 i had no such problems, I am currently with stock rom 101 of Singapore and have been through this problem once.
What to do to stop this problem? I have unlocked BL.
Thanks

[Q] Arc S Lt18i 4.0.2.A.0.62 firmware needed

Hi guys, I'm looking for latest gb firmware for the Arc S Lt18i 4.0.2.A.0.62. I found out many threads/links but none of those is working, all are offline.
So i'm just asking, can anyone kindly share with me Italian version or Generic EU version of 4.0.2.A.0.62 for Lt18i please?
Thanks in advance

Thanks buddy for your links. The one you sent to me is generic India firmware, yesterday i found out Generic World UK version from this site:
http://forumobileservice.blogspot.it/2013/08/sony-official-firmware.html
Are there so many differences between each countries releases? Is there a global version?
Thanks
I think the differences between them are extra apps included and languages. Main parts are same.
If you flash ftf file with Flashtool, there is an option "Exclude TA" to swipe "simlock.ta" in firmware, then you can use normaly.

Ok clear, thanks Just last question, Do you suggest to update to stock ICS instead of stock GB? Is GB overall better than ICS?I heard that stock ics is little worse (laggier)..
Thanks
Yes, stock GB is smoother than stock ICS. But it miss alot of features, and some new apps dont support GB, e.g: new Gmail app. I have a backup android phone run GB, the last time I check, gmail app is really suck and ugly :silly:
Flash GB if you need performance.
But for something new and fast, you should try custom roms based on Kitkat.

I was also thinking about Xperia Hd Ultimate Ics based rom, just to have stock look but without missing performances. I hope it's the right choice.
Thanks for your advices buddy

So, if we only consider stock SE firwmares, do you suggest to stay with GB instead of ICS?
Thanks

If you request rooted device, i suggest flashing 0.42, doing root and then OTA update to 0.62. Flashed 0.62 cannot be rooted.
