All,
I noticed on the TMO version of the GN3, that we are very limited in our service mode options. Well, I'm proud to say I've managed to get to the ACTUAL main menu of the service mode, rather than the debug info only menu.
*** DO THESE STEPS AT YOUR OWN RISK. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK YOUR DEVICE.***
Here's the trick I used on 4.4.2 Stock:
1) Open Phone, go to the dialer.
2) Enter *#197328640# to enter the service mode. You will land at "DEBUG SCREEN"
3) Hit the menu key, select "Key Input" and in the Input Value box, enter Q (capital letter) and hit OK
4) Hit the menu key again, select "Key Input", and in the Input value box, enter 0000 (four zeros) and hit OK
5) Wait about 5-10 seconds, your service menu should change to "MAIN MENU":
Code:
MAIN MENU
[1] PROTOCOL STATE
[2] UE SETTINGS & INFO
[3] ETC
[4] DEBUG SCREEN(OPEN)
[5] OPERATOR(OPEN)
Now I haven't messed around in here too much, but if you want to reset your modem and GPS (restore the factory NV values for the modem, which COULD help data dropouts, bad GPS fix, etc.), do the following:
1) Enter the MAIN MENU as described above
2) Select option 2 "UE SETTINGS & INFO"
3) Select option 1 "SETTING"
4) Select option 2 "SYSTEM"
5) Select option 3 "NV REBUILD"
6) Select option 3 "ALL"
7) It will tell you to reboot. Do it. Reboot will take slightly longer, but it will completely reset the modem, GPS, and IMS settings
I'm sure there's a lot more that can be done that would be useful in the main menu, but I'm not feeling like destroying my phone ATTM, so I'll let others chime in.
Hit Thanks if you found this useful!

Interesting.
Going through the settings (not changing anything)
I noticed this phone is enabled on LTE bands 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 17 and 20 right out of the box.
No need to change anything.

I bought mine already unlocked so the tmobile sim card always worked just no data at first. I had to manually put the apn in under mobile networks and got 4g internet from the beginning then I used the build.prop trick to get my lte to work. Is your lg optimus g pro the at&t e980 model? Hey guys I've seen a few other posts about this issue but haven't come across any solutions that work for me. My gps won't lock when I try to use any type of navigation. When I go to maps my current location is shown but beyond that I get nothing. Tried the power cycle method and I flashed different roms and still have the same issue. Running Jedi X13.
Thanks

Seems like your using Google maps for your navigation. Don't know if you tried to clear the data in that actual app. May help you.

Same problem here, tried many times resetting AGPS data and it simply will not work.
Im using TW. Jedi X14
Had to go back to stock through Odin, and then also used a code in the dialer (forgot what it was, used the IMEI code of your phone in the end) to get a correct CSC for my carrier. Then my GPS started to work again and flashed to whatever ROM.

can you explain what you did step by step? I have been trying to get my gps to work I tried all the custom roms and now im running stock rom and still will not lock. I am about to take it to at&t if none of the above posts wont work.
So after flashing to stock on Odin, I went to the phone app used this dialer code, *#272*IMEI#*
You can find your IMEI code in system settings > about device > status, I believe, a long bunch of numbers/letters. So substitute those numbers/letters for where it says IMEI in that dialer code. Then you'll get a few options for selecting your carrier, choose the correct one and your phone should reset once again.
After that, my GPS started working after I launched Google Maps and was able to pick up satellites in the GPS status app from the Play store.
I'm on a Canadian carrier (Bell), but hopefully this works for you. It is quite a pain to do all this for the sake of the GPS..

My phone actaully went right to the CSC menu after I put in that last asterisk.. Not sure. Sorry I couldn't help you. Having no GPS really does suck.
Another option could be to root your phone, again, and download CSC chooser from the Play store. Perhaps an alternative to that code?
Just picked up GS4 from a corp store, and immediately noticed the call quality not being on par with other HD Voice devices like GS3, HTC One, iPhone 5. Called my gf who has iPhone 5 dialed into the ServiceMode while on call and Voila... only AMR 12.2 kbit/s which is narrowband AMR-NB at Full Rate.
Is there a way to enable HD Voice without rooting or it's inevitable?
thanks!

I finally installed Wicked ROM that enabled it, then I flashed it to VirginROM GPe based, and it's still on with ServiceMode out of TW. Love it!
If you're considering GPe GS4, you're better off getting T-Mobile's variant since they share the same FCC ID for $579 and flash the ROM. Plus you can get it in Black
For some reason it sounds like some calls are extremely clear (HD), this seems to be the case only when both parties have 4g LTE (t-mobile). Not sure if this setting is variable or not depending on reception.

AMR-WB is active only when both parties are within the T-Mobile's Network, and both parties' phones are AMR-WB capable.
Interesting to note that mine had previously been off, but I too flashed a new ROM (Alpha 6.0) then went back to stock ROM, and voila, it's listed as on. I will try and make a test call and report back if it works.
EDIT: I does in fact work now calling my coworker with T-Mobile on his Note 2.
I have been working on this app for the past week and it is finally ready for release! It needs some cleaning up and a couple more features, but it is fully working as is. I had no experience with java or android app development before creating this. I am currently taking Computer Science at school and learning C++

Will I get LTE on my carrier?
This can enable Band 4 LTE on the nexus 4. T-Mobile in the USA uses this for their entire current LTE network. AT&T in US uses it in select locations. Various carriers in Canada and Mexico are also using Band 4. Check the link above for your carrier.
Looks nice, man. I've already got an LTE modem installed, but will be handy for going back to stock.

What do you guys think I should do something like this http://puu.sh/6iywW.png ? Or just leave just the 3 tabs , without the left drawer. I can put the Phone info menu (*#*#4636#*#*) in the overflow menu(top 3 tabs) along with about instead of the left drawer. Idk if its really needed
Edit: Or this maybe http://puu.sh/6iyQN.png , I think this might be the better option ?
Three tabs + overflow menu is fine. However, if you go with the left menu I'd say put everything in it & get rid of the overflow menu.

Nice app idea but unfortunately it did not work, tried enabling LTE and my phone froze and after a couple of minutes the app stop responding and it closed, same thing happened when I tried to flash hybrid radio, waited 5 minutes and never rebooted never flashed

Hmm, probably a stupid question but are you rooted? SuperSu or superuser? Did it ask for SU permissions?

I am rooted and I did grant permission, even while the phone is frozen the message that the app has been granted permissions pops up, is it suppose to take a long time? I will try again

Everything works fine for me on CNA ROM with Supersu installed. Do you have SuperSU and busybox?(most roms have busybox installed)
Depending on your data speed it could take awhile to download the 20MB modem.zip. I am going to be adding a download progress bar soon.
Anyone else having any issues?
I did find a "bug" that prevents the 'Enable LTE' button to actually work on ROMs with Selinux enforcing (CM and I believe stock). It is fixed and I will be releasing beta 2 soon.

Thanks, however, can someone shed some light on this, because all these codes are working on Note 2 even if you are not rooted on stock Rom.
So, what does changing the EFS from OFF to ON?

I followed the instructions perfectly. It caused my data signal not to work.
Luckily, reversing the OFF to ON then rebooting restored data.

That's weird cuz you said you reverted back to ON when it was OFF??
The instructions say turn it ON in the first place. But it's working now which is good.

It was OFF, then after reading this read, I changed it to ON, turned phone off, removed battery, restarted, no data. Waited several minutes, I might add.
Then, I went back in changed it to what it originally stated: OFF. Now everything working.
I'm running cm 11. Would that matter?

Ok, I see where I wrote the wrong thing on the first reply.
I should have wrote, " reversed the ON to OFF"
