I'd like the community input on three issues,
First would be what audio processor should I be using? Ie Walkman or any other flashable audio software?
Second, is poweramp the most ideal music player for this setup?
Third, how in the heck do I get navbar on the left or right hand side. Being on the bottom has its disadvantages when it's 2 feet away
I'm on Mahdi rom.

The audio player kinda comes down to preference but i PowerAmp does seem ideal.
For the Navbar try this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmd.hidesoftkeys
And i highly suggest you install Viper4Android. The difference is phenomenal

When i play audio via TuneIn Radio pro, it works perfectly. Sound bass everything is very thorough.
When i play my audio files (that range from 128 to 512kbps in quality) the volume is always lower (including bass) without me adjusting anything.
I am using poweramp pro + Viper4Android FX
any suggestions?

That's a clean install. What did you use as far as creating the bezel? Or did it just fit? Almost did this in my vehicle but the required fiberglass work was a little much for me, haha. What did you do for the hardware buttons?

I am curious if there is a native way to launch it.

You can use Trigger to switch tasks.
Very very simple.
I made a short demonstration video of how to use Trigger to change tasks. Quality's not too good because I'm still not used to using Screencast yet.
You can use Trigger without gestures and that's by setting the dragging up, left, right, down directions to be the actions you want to activate. I've set the left action to be switch to previous task and the up action to be show Recent Apps.
And for a limited time, you can download Trigger from the Samsung Apps Store to get the full version that lets you make an unlimited amount of gestures.
Otherwise, you could download the free version of Trigger from the Play Store to try out.
Edit: If you want to move the Trigger Icon, you'll have to hold onto the icon for a second or so. If you don't hold, it'll activate the swiping actions instead.

Not confusing "frill" with "unknown"... I looked at nooz in the play store, and it's got all these extra features and IMO a horrible looking interface. It's a third party application, I want something that's built into the system, so yea.
I honestly don't think I'm going to win because I reflashed my phone with PACman v18, and the DSP manager disappeared after the first boot.

Because I love the PACman ROM... it's got AOKP controls/features, the ParanoidAndroid app independent DPI settings (which makes the Play Store much nicer when you set it to 720px and 180DPI), and then the CM solidness.
Get ahold of a dev and ask them if they'll zip DSP for you from CM.

The ROM comes with DSP, but it only works on local applications, nothing streaming and nothing third party like Winamp or Pandora. Further, I think there's another problem laid in somewhere because after the first reboot, my DSP manager icon disappears from the application drawer. So yeah, like I said, I doubt I'm going to win on this one in any way.

So yeah, DSP Manager's APK is still in my /system/app folder with the correct permissions, but it doesn't show in my applications drawer. I followed the instructions on that post and installed the acid beats zip and then noozxoide. After looking over noozxoide, I realized it was just DSP with a bunch of text added for no reason to make it look like it does more when it's really the underlying drivers doing all the work (this was the perceived "frill", all that BS text). I set about configuring as I had previously, and now I can feel the bass in my ears again with every application I use frequently. That's my thing... I have Sennheiser headphones with great bass response, just as good as my home theater system where I can feel the bass. So I like to be able to experience my music with the sense of touch as well as the sense of sound. Multi-sense stimuli help me calm down and focus, so it's nice to have my second sense back in place where it should be.
Awesome! Glad your up and running again. Yea... That interface is pretty awful though.

Thanks for the suggestion, horrid interface yes, but exactly what I needed. I just wanted to replace what I had with something that worked, and this does just that, kinda disappointed I don't get the simple DSP Manager interface, oh well, it works. Feeling the music is primarily why I go to concerts since the systems are usually in excess of 3000w and usually more bass-heavy dance-able music. Again, thanks for pointing me in the right direction, gripe or no gripe.
No worries, glad to help.

If I have a mod like beats installed should I install it first then flash this or it shouldn't matter?

Shouldn't matter. ... but if your talking about awesome beats (which is no where near "beats". Only htc users get to experience true beats) Anyway. ... you will have to delete dspmanager if your current mod comes with that.

Do the sound mods all run through the Walkman app? Because I prefer using other music apps since the song/artist from the Walkman app never show up on my car bluetooth

Havent played much with it yet but wanted to point out something...hopefully a small bug and not a problem.
Flashed it, wiped cache and dalvik. Didn't use the phone for another hour or so when we got in the car and neither navigation nor Pandora could be heard more than a whisper even though the volume was cranked on the car stereo and on the phone.
I just opened the Walkman app and boom the sound came back. Closed the Walkman app and the sound stayed.

Is this thru bt? Or how are you communicating with your car stereo?

in my case via Aux-in.
so far audio is still at the regular volume since the first time I opened the Walkman app.

I believe that is PIE launcher which is found in the ParanoidAndroid http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1800268, I don't think it comes as something separate though.
Yea that isn't a launcher but rather a new control system. It hides your status bar and navigation bar so you have a full screen experience.
Its called PIE from Paranoid Android Rom.

LMT launcher works great on the nexus 7. Use home button launcher
If you need more shortcuts.
Lmt launcher and pie from paranoid android are two separate things. The Lmt launcher comes by itself. You can find it.by searching xda.

Yes you must flash paranoid android and use your enabled desktop in order to get pie controls

Err, what? So much misinformation. PIE controls and LMT Launcher are basically identical, if not exactly the same thing.
Also, LMT Launcher is not a 'Launcher' in the sense you guys are thinking. It runs on top of your current launcher and I believe has more features than PIE.
Here's a picture of it running on RasbeanJelly with TSF Shell.
Looks identical to me.
Wouldn't running this on top of something else cause lag or slowness? I would rather have either one or the other, right?

Its live in the market now. Doesn't slow it down at all ,great soft key replacement on a tablet IMHO, its right there by your thumb with a quick slide.

How do you get PIE to work on the nexus 7 WIFI only. It didn't work for me on Paranoid Android jellybean 4.2.1 or 4.2.2. I looked in the settings for pie and Its not listed the the security screen lock section. I played with the PIE settings in the control center and I still don't know how to get it to display. What do I need to do?

Sorry for that. I sometimes forget that clicking quick reply quotes the person above. Post wasn't exactly directed at you. I just saw a lot of people claiming you could only get PIE in PA and that's just not true.

Mine works. I set my pie gravity to "bottom". You have to hold power button and toggle "expanded desktop" then swipe up and hold from the bottom edge (or left, right, up depending on set gravity)

You guys should definitely check out LMT Launcher. It's hella more customizable than PA's Pie and it doesn't lag whatsoever. For those that didn't know... LMT Launcher has been around much much longer than Pie.

You presumed correctly. You will need root.... Why run a stock Nexus device? They are made to be rooted, man!
