How is the warranty process / exchange time through HTC if any problems occur?
I'm on the fence between getting ATT Branded M8 or Developer edition.
For ATT, I can go to a service center to get phone replaced or they'll even ship a replacement device out overnight.
Don't know how the warranty process is through HTC.
Thanks.

I have the T-Mobile Touch Pro 2 that I bought from T-Mobile, but I no longer have service through T-Mobile (SIM Unlocked and using on AT&T).
Does anyone forsee any difficulties with getting it replaced through Warranty should the need arise? I've had some very strange behavior lately and its made me start thinking down these paths, and I figured that I would go ahead and ask.
Thanks!

and what about warranty if it has been unlocked and being used in Kazakhstan?
now im having problems with incall sound
I've heard problems with returning U.S. carrier brands for warranty work from outside of the U.S. (I had a friend that had an AT&T Tilt and he was in Germany and needed some Warranty work and he had to either wait until he returned for school or else send it to me and have me do the warranty work for him). The official HTC model I believe has worldwide warranty support though.

I don't think you can do it unless you can persuade HTC to do it...
Hi all,
Two questions - does a restore from a goldcard un-root a CDMA Deisre (I guess any phone for that matter). If so, does anyone have a goldcard image they could share with me for a US Cellular Desire since there is no shipped rom available? My phone randomly reboots (even with the stock rom) and would like to take it in to the shop for repair - but I rooted it. Thanks for any info.
I'm almost positive that the insurance company Assurant doesn't care what you did to your phone. You can call and add insurance for $5, then do a claim and get a new phone for $50. That's an option. That's how you turn a bricked phone into a refurb phone. Your phone isn't bricked, but you could use the same trick.
i was having an issue with my phone since last week.. it was radomly rebooting due to overheating. i phoned htc and they have booked it in for repair.
the phone is t-mobile branded but i unlocked it using the unlock utility .. are there any chances that it will void the warranty as i unlocked it using the sim unlock utility, will they be able to find out?
many thanks
edit: its still network branded. it shows t-mobile logo on startup.
No. Your allowed to sim unlock all you want, just not debrand it via rooting or what ever.
cheers boss,
i was just a bit worried that htc might charge me
does it really take 10 working days for repair :O ?
I think it can take up to 28 days for the whole process to complete (going from your house, to HTC, then repair then back to your house). It can take a while but it depends.
Can be less then 10 working days, I had mine back within a week.
My one x screen is dead and black. Touch controls and radios work fine. The local HTC authorized service center says that the problem is with the handset and it needs to be replaced. But they don't process the warranty of the handset which is not bought from them. I need it to send it internationally so if anyone knows where to send it. I am from Pakistan.
Hi guys
I recently got my US T-Mobile HTC One M9, and I dropped it (I know). Now one part of the screen is messed up. I unlocked my bootloader and installed TWRP. If I want to return my phone to HTC for repair, will they accept the phone, since I unlocked the bootloader? Also, if I just relock the bootloader, will that be fine or should I wait for a RUU for the USA version since I saw only the Poland T-mobile RUU is released?
Thanks

Since you are in the US, you could utilize your "UhOh" protection, which guarantees you 1 free phone replacement in the first 12 months of your device's life direct from HTC. Unlocked and rooted phones ARE supported under the UhOh protection plan.
Just contact HTC customer support to get the ball rolling on your replacement. They'll give you two options for replacement. Either a temporary $299 hold on a credit card that is removed once HTC receives the damaged phone back and they immediately send your replacement or you can send the damaged phone back postage paid by HTC and as soon as HTC receives it, the replacement will be in the mail.

Yes, it is a welcome surprise to all, confirmed by Jason Mackenzie, President HTC USA at the announcement event Q&A. Its basically software independent, meaning software malfunction is not reason for replacement nor is it a reason to deny it. Uh Oh protection applies only to hardware. Below is an excerpt from the full terms and conditions outlining what will void the protection:
UH OH PROTECTION ADDENDUM TO LIMITED WARRANTY SHALL NOT APPLY:
1. if the Eligible Product serial number or the IMEI/MEID number has been removed, erased, defaced, or altered, or is illegible;
2. if the Eligible Product has suffered unauthorized modifications or connections, unauthorized opening, repair by use of unauthorized spare parts, or repair by an unauthorized person or location;
3. if the battery of the Eligible Product was improperly installed by You or another person or if the seals of the battery enclosure or the cells of the Eligible Product are broken or show evidence of tampering, or if the battery of the Eligible Product has been used in equipment other than that for which it has been specified; or
4. if the damage to the Eligible Product was caused by use not in accordance with the user manual, or rough handling beyond normal use.
