I need help guys, I installed lupus http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1849536
But the recoveries won't load, they are stuck at loading screen, both cwm and twrp.
I have flashed the enhanced firmware via flashtool before recovery.
Does anyone have Doomlord v14 kernel img for me ? can't download it from the thread!!
Have flashed firmware again with flashtool, have OS but no working recoveries..
Got root, x-parts recovery doesn't work for me
Do you still have root? If you do give me a few to upload an apk that will install a recovery just for Xperia line I used it a lot when I had a locked bootloader

I do have root so if you could do that, that would be soo helpful.
My bootloader is unlocked, but with that recovery I can flash a rom.
I think the rom i will flash has a kernel + recovery, is that a bad thing?

Oh that's okay, well as far as I know there is LupusGB and Doomkernel which are suggested in the rom thread. LupusGB doesn't work for me, and Doomkernel cannot be downloaded anymore..
What are you suggesting? I'm not familiar with this phone, just got it a few days

Does anyone know how to access CWM other than using the volume down button?
Depends on the kernel. It could be back or search key.

try to push R button while starting your phone, keep the trigger "R" pushed
tell me if i helped
Make sure you have recovery manually installed, either through installing the recovery itself, or flashing a kernel. Otherwise, you don't have a recovery to access at all.

Did you install it through an app? If so, the app should have a "reboot into recovery" option. If not, download the xperia cwm app from the play store.

I have installed the cwm from the app store and it will not let me access cwm. I do have a unlocked bootloader. What recoveries can I install that do not use the volume down to access can
?
You'll need to flash a new kernel to have permanent recovery, without the app method. Search the development forum for the numerous kernels.

Just checking.... Did you open the app and install CWM or just install the app?

Honestly, I'm on a cdma phone, so you'll have a lot more options than I do. Just dive in and read about all of the ones you can find.

DooMKernel by DooMLord. Dunno if I have the capital letters right. That kernel uses the back key.
Edit: I saw somewhere that Keiran's kernel also uses the back key. Not sure though.

Good call by Joe here. Installing the app does not install CWM. You have to run the app to do that. Also, I don't know if that app works if you have an unlocked bootloader.

When I reflash stock 2.3.3 via Flashmode and Flashtool, I get stuck in a bootloop. I'm using DooMKerneL V2 test 2 and the correct WiFi modules. The CDMA variant of course.
I'm going to try again, but I doubt it will work. Fix permissions first.
Any ideas?

You can't flash firmware (FTF) from your phone. You have to use flashtool.

Perhaps be more clear next time too. And you're welcome.

To help gain some clarity, as you've not provided some crucial information:
Do you have root?
Did you actually install CWM?
If you've done both of these you can flash any zip that was made for the LT28. If you're trying to flash a zip for another model it's likely not going to work. I avoid flashing mods, opting instead to install them manually.
All of this is covered in the ion forum if you bothered to reeeeead.
I thought it was a givin that I had root I spose not tho I was pretty clear. The only reason I was a bit curt was because I had "not roms" in brackets.
The zip files im trying to install have to do with the audio player so they are probably more of a driver type thing. My firmware is stock, rooted CWM Rom is not installed I have the CWM app and it says there is no recovery for this phone stock ics rooted locked boot. And yes I have been searching but havent found much useful yet.
Sent from my LT28i using xda app-developers app
You need to connect device to computer for almost all aspects. Root , cwm, mods etc.
You need to solve the pc issue first then look into mods and such.
Also if root you can manually replace the file with root explorer from the extracted zip

You don't need the clockwork app. Just install the cwm found in android development section. Must use a computer. It's as simple as pressing a. Bat file

Type this "cwm recovery for xperia ion" or this "clockwork recovery for xperia ion" in google search and come back and tell us what you found.
Our phones will not boot into recovery from cwm all we really have is flashmode. Yes some zips can be flashed through cwm such as themes and what not from the Xperia s but you need to match mounting points and what not, if you flash a bad zip you may get a boot loop if that's the case just shut the phone off then run flashtool reflash the. Ftf and you'll be fine.

Before flashing a kernel i want to make sure i get everything right so i dont mess up my phone. Do i flash the kernel first or the rom and what is the baseband someone told me you need to flash this as well and if so where do you get it?
Sent from my R800x using xda app-developers app
Kernal before rom always baseband is your network. Most of the time the roms o.p will have a link to download the baseband which you will flash after you install the rom
So its flash kernal using fastboot install rom using clockwirk mod recovery then turn phone iff enter flashmode and flash baseband should be good to go
P.S FLASHTOOL is your best friend

Hey guys, I just picked up a new Galaxy S3 this morning and I'm not sure how to install a custom AOKP rom.
I've already rooted the phone, but because the firmware is 4.1.1 I'm unsure how to proceed.
Should I just install the latest AOKP rom version, or do I need to upgrade to a newer firmware while still using stock and go from there?

Should be in the q&a threads...
You'll need to install a custom recovery (twrp or cwm)
Than you can flash any ROM you want. If you want Tasks aokp just download the newest version and most recent gapps and flash as instructed in the thread.

I believe the rom I used to root my phone also installed CWM, so I should be good to go as soon as I finish downloading AOKP and gapps.

Make sure you have the latest version of cwm. They're at 6.0.2.3 if your recovery isn't at that than the flash won't work properly.

Cwm 6.0.3.1 is the most recent, not 6.0.2.3. You can find it in post #2, at the bottom. It's a zip you can flash in cwm

It's not really an issue, I just tend to be somewhat of a minimalist when it comes to boot logos and animations.
Either way, I don't know much about compiling kernels. And the consensus seems to be that your kernel is pretty good, so I'm gonna stick with it.
Thanks for the reply, and I appreciate your work on the rom. Cheers!
