Just got my M8 yesterday and noticed that the top speaker grill, right below the camera, is somewhat lifted with a very small gap. It's perfectly flat otherwise, but it's just that one spot below the camera. Anyone else have this with their phone? Wondering if it's common or if I should bring it back for an exchange...
Just exchanged mine today for the exact same problem, The new one is perfect so far.

I just managed to push it down and it's sort of better... I'll see how it holds up over the next 24 hours or so. If it pops back up, I'll exchange it. Thanks for your feedback.
Get it replaced. my buddy got one with same issue on top and bottom and got it replaced. No problems on his new one. Mine seems fine, does make me worry that it could happen in future

Yeah, taking it back tomorrow. Problem is, every freakin' T-Mobile store in my area is sold out, so might be awhile before I get another one. :/
Can someone take a pic of this issue please

Tilt the phone forward and it should be noticeable in that area. Or run your finger up the screen over it. If it feels sharp and not smooth, could be a gap.

My buddy at work did, via ATT, but you should still be able to with T-mobile. Just do it before your 14 days are up. Also, remember you don't get a new 14 days when you get a replacement. You have 14 days total.

Damn man. That's messed up. However, in terms of stupidity when it comes to phones I definitely beat you lol.
I had a bb storm that wasn't working so Verizon sent me a replacement, but i took more than. A month to send it back, and so I paid retail price of 550 dollars, and then a couple of years later, I purchased a DROID x and while at a party asked someone to take a picture of me and the chick I was with. They took the picture, I forgot about the phone turned away with the chick and left. Lol. I think I win lol

Interesting Insurance though, My Company doesn't list anything unless it's worth more than $1500. HTC One X isn't worth near that, so it's automatically assumed.
Bad luck
Silliest thing I've done is dropped my HTC Trophy 7, didn't crack or smash, the sleep/power button broke, it actually snapped the plastic tab inside, disassembled it to check. Really irritating way to break lol, still works but you can't wake it up!

Well in terms of stupidity, I may actually take the cake. I had an Xperia X8 a while back. Thought I would do my own "XDA Unboxing of the Xperia X8". Within 10 minutes into my brave (or stupid, when i think about it) escapade, I managed to
1. Break the outer screen (casing)
2. Rip the camera out beyond repair
3. F*cked the 3 menu buttons
4. Damage the rockers (power, volume)
5. Break the motherboard (thats right folks. In half...i forgot to take out one screw and thought i would need force to pull it out...)
So I bought a new one. Same colour so no one would notice...I'm no Adam Outler tho
One More Idiota...
Bought HOX for 560EURO, brought back got problm network dropped, went back to the shop got 1-to-1, brought back too exited, root the phone, then got the same problem, went back to the shop again!, cant get the 1-to-1 any more, so sent for warranty, cant claimed for the warranty because they said the phone rooted at that moment i saw my money flying above my head (all this events took only in 1 week)... now the spoiled HOX is sleeping under by my bed...

I just replaced my HTC One for a S4, because my HTC had a bad camera, and not wanting to deal with it again i replaced it with a trusty galaxy.
Now, unfortunately, the build quality is a lot worse than my S2 T989.
The first week, i got scratches on everything that is chrome, and it's very visible on the camera chrome sidings, and the speaker for calling infront.
Today, i removed my case, to find that my back cover has a CRACK! I've never seen this anywhere. It's basically a crack like if this was a glass back. Anybody have this?
Also, the lag is killing me! I wish i had kept the HTC and just got a replacement ! I'm rooted and tried all roms btw.

I doubt the lag problems are just me. It starts with being fast when in install the rom, and the 2nd day is laggy as f*ck, HECK EVEN MY S2 WAS fASTER OPENING THE CAMERA!
Now for the scratches, it's probably in all S4's as the plasticy chrome is easily scratched, and its already too late, because i got the phone a week and some ago. They said i can't replace it anymore because i already did the HTC One to S4.

My battery plate has the exact same "glass" crack on the back, fortunately I was going to replace it anyways with a i9500 one, still baffled on how it got there as I'm extremely careful with my phone. I also have the Spigen cover you have.
I'm running Wicked V3 with its stock kernel, no lag whatsoever; first rom I've used that's trouble free, I've always had bad experiences with custom roms, even on my ex i9300.
In my T989 the roms are very good. I agree, wicked V3 is the one i use, but it still degrades in performance overtime.

Lmfao, i never had any HTC phone except the HTC One. The s4 isn't superior in anything but software, which is why i traded it. The HTC One has very good software that is lag free compared to the S4. But, it's so much different than what im used to in my S2 and so much extra steps to do stuff so i hated it.

I don't really notice any lag on mine other then going to home screen caused by the s voice but that can be turned off.
But my first s4 had a stiff power button and this one will be going back do to a blue haze coming up about a inch from the bottom of the screen.

My s4 has a weird home button than can ''bend? is that normal?
I didn't want to start a new thread & so I'm posting about a little issue that I noted today.
While cleaning my phone case today I noticed a certain crack/fissure on the 4 corners of the side bezel on my S4. Is this a faulty bezel or is it just part of the normal installation of the bezel?
I've never dropped the phone and it's been in a case since day 1. I haven't even removed the plastic covering on the bezel that comes with it as you can note in the pictures.
Could someone verify that this exists on their devices or not? I'd like to know before I go through the hassle of getting it replaced from Samsung.
The pictures are attached and I've highlighted the problem areas in red. I realize the clarity isn't the greatest but the issue appears clearly.
I also have that, so i think its normal

what are y'alls experiences with verizon's certified/refurbed replacements? quality, condition, etc. more than anything, i'm worried that the battery it comes with will be in poor condition.
I'm getting my htc one replaced for the purple-tint camera issue (which, btw, both verizon and htc acknowledge for hardware repair/replacement). iI can either 1) have htc repair my phone, but i have to send it in and go without it for a couple of weeks, or b) i can get it replaced by verizon, but will almost certainly get a certified like-new, which is fine as long as its 'like new'.
thoughts/opinions/experiences?
i'll let y'all know if the camera issue is fixed

I've had a mixed bag in regards to this. One swap of a Razr arrived with chips out of the display and scratches on the casing. The next swap after that was fine. I had an iphone 4 that I had to have swapped bc it had a bad charge port and the iphone I received had a non-functional display. Keep in mind this was years ago and they could have remedied those issues by now (so don't freak out lol). Just relaying my experiences.
If you go the Verizon route I'd like to see what the exchanged device you receive is like as far as condition goes. My One has the issue as well but I can't send it in to HTC and be without it for 2 weeks. If you get a decent device I might roll the dice with Verizon replacement again.
I have had two replacements, both were perfect condition and the batteries were like brand new. Neither had camera issues. Not a single problem so far.

On this issue I can tell you first hand. I worked as a Service Tech back in Eris days and 90% of their stock was refurbished through a company who did horrible work. Every customer I dealt with came back numerous time before finding a reliable device. Now to say with HTC One most likely you will get a used like new device. They haven't had enough returns to refurbish at this point. Their knowledge of the device is zero..zero!! I would definitely grab it up while you can.

:fingers-crossed: hope you're right. the only other consideration being that it has a non-defect camera/sensor
OP if you have the ability to send the phone to HTC i would. Ive had nothing but problems with VZW CLN program. I went through 3 HTC rezounds. First was DOA, second the headphone jack wouldn't work, third the screen wasn't glued to the LCD letting dust in.
i ended up going to insurance and have them get me a new phone, at the time all they had was an Inc 4g LTE so i said SOLD. Never again will i deal with VZW repairs.
just my $.02

Yeah I hated to let the cat out of the bag..they made me sign a waiver years ago to not let their TRADE secrets out..lol
that's how a big company rolls dude..most of the time I had to fix the refurbs to give to customers because they did a sad job. Did they test the device._ _ _ no. C'mon I had a dude escalate because of this and a coworker had to call the police.
Well it seems more ppl than not have had bad experiences with vzw swaps. Hopefully you luck out OP

To clarify cornjo, are you saying you think I'll have better or worse luck than when you were working for vz tech?
Sent from my HTC6500LVW using Tapatalk
You'll have better luck not dealing with the store grab the certified replacement it's probably a device they used to test with because not many HTC One's have been returned..shows how good the device is bro.

jeez wtf! you'd think someone would notice before they put it in the box. its practically comical at this point. i'm having a hard time believing the replacement system can be THIS bad. If anything i'm hoping the phone they send me is ludicrously inadequate so i can demand a brand new one.
I thought it was hilarious I emailed them a pic they overnighted me a new one before I sent the useless one back

Don't get me started...CLNR phones are a horrible gamble..I think I'm on my 7th/8th Rezound (back to back returns). Loose screens, overheating, defective cameras, etc). I don't like being toyed with. I did tons of research, found out that they were outsourcing the repairs to some cheap company (something like "PCM"?). They kept trying to give me a new lower spec phone for a while too and I had them on file lying to me about sending me a new Rezound TWICE. Finally escalated the sh*t out of the issue and found the "president" of the So Cal headquarters. So...yeah, be careful.
tl;dr
The more you know about Verizon the worse it gets.

lol uhhhh... Wasn't a camera standard on the Nexus? How the hell?
Verizon is comprised of a bunch of douchebags
I have minor backlight bleed from the home button but everything else is flawless (I'm trying to overcome my OCD and keep it LOL). But on topic Verizon CLNR's are beyond ass.
Is there any real issues with buying refurbished? I'm looking at Walmart which says refurbished but not Manufacturer refurbished. Thoughts?
I got a return from there groupon deal. I think Walmart and group on have the same resources for getting refurbished tablets. I don't see a problem. I got a 90 day warranty.

A lot of people think the Groupon tabs and the WalMart tabs come from the same source. Groupon says manufacturer refurb'd, so if they're the same WalMart's are too. I'm receiving my Groupon tab tomorrow, I'll post back on the condition.

Thnx. I ordered one yesterday and it's scheduled to get here Tuesday. I also bought the $74 dollar 2-yr warranty against everything. I figure I'll check it out once it gets here and can always return it if necessary.
I'm sure I'll figure this out once I get it and start loading stuff onto it and using it, but the one thing I don't want to happen is for it to crap out on me when I'm in the middle of class...
Is there a list of tests that should be done on it upon arrival?
From what I've seen here, the Bluetooth could do with being tested. Battery as well, make sure it lasts about as long as the others here. From what I've seen, some have excessive light bleed, too. I'll be checking all of that on mine first thing.

Yes definitely test anhy devices screen and basic functions. I've had issues with my Nexus 5 (had to get 3 replacements). This returned Note 10.1 2014 is fantastic. Bluetooth works and the screen is perfect. Anecdotal evidence though.

Yes, but Groupon also has a 90 day manufacturer warranty, too. And it's cheaper than WalMart. Anyway, all I need is maybe a week to make sure it works as advertised. After that I'll be rooting it, so I wouldn't be able to return it anyway.
Alright, I've had a day to play with my Groupon Note, reporting back now. Basically, it's perfect. It looks brand new, can't tell it's a refurb. The screen is awesome, Bluetooth works fine, and even while it's still stock, I've got none of the lag some people talk about. I love it.

I just got mine from Walmart today. I haven't had a chance to try it yet but it looks perfect. One thing I noticed , however, is that the pen doesn't click in like it does on my Note 3. How about yours?

I've never had a Note phone, so I don't know how they click, but my pen clicks. I actually had a little difficulty removing it at first. I have to hook it hard with my fingernail to get it out. Has a very audible "click" sound when taking it out and putting it back, and I can feel it, too.

For the manufacture refurb note 10.1 2014, does it come with replacement tips for the S Pen?
Thanks!
Mine didn't, but I'm sure you can find them somewhere. I wasn't even aware the tip could be replaced.
Edit: Scratch that. The pen doesn't come apart whatsoever. If you need a new tip for some reason, you'll need to get a new pen.

So I got my brand new Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus from T-Mobile about 2 and a half days ago now. On the beginning of the second day I woke up to notice (With the phone sitting on my nightstand charging like any other phone I've had) that the phone was very very hot to the touch. Upon further inspection after I unplugged it I noticed (To my horror! 0.0) There is now a giant running crack along the left side of the phone. Being in a case from day 1 and NEVER being dropped, this is most definitely NOT accidental damage by any means. (At least in my opinion ). Since the incident I've contacted Samsung and they've provided me with a shipping label to have them take a look at the device. Was really hoping for this to be my best phone yet (Since the Note 4 ). Let's all hope Samsung pulls through and helps me out in this situation! I'll post pictures below and keep you guys updated on what's happening as far as the phone goes! :highfive:

Hmmmm.....this is OP first ever post
It is certainly possible that the battery swelled like the nexus 6 batteries did. The pressure could have cracked the glass but it is likely that samsung would deny that claim. I would document everything and even charge it up again and record the temperature of the phone when it's over heating. Try to remember we all had one post once. I discovered XDA when I was having problems with my LG thrill.

More often than not, these first time posters will start a thread like this spreading FUD and drop out leaving everyone in a panic. Somehow those threads become a warzone. ? I'm not saying that is the case here though.
(Not the case here + Update on Phone)
(Whoever just said that this was to cause hype, it's not. It actually legit happened here).
UPDATE
I'm so pissed right now. Samsung called me back and gave me the runaround that this was accidental damage! :crying: . They've really pissed me off. This was not accidental damage and now they want to send it back to me. Going to try to contact their repair center on Monday and appeal this case but other than that I need other options!
If anyone else has any ideas on what to do please let me know!

Samsung is being inundated with complains from customers of their Edge self-destructing.
