[Q] Bell Note 2 Unrooting Error - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone,
I'm currently trying to figure out a strange error with my SGH-L317M (Bell Note 2) after I unrooted the device. After downloading I317MVLUCMK5_I317MOYACMK5_HOME.tar.md5 I used Odin v3.09 to unroot the device in order to sell it. The process went fine (no errors) but when I turn the device on it contains Rogers bloatware instead of Bell's usual applications.
Also when I insert my sim card into the device to make sure it works I can't get a data connection. However, I did the same process on another note 2 and it worked fine (Bell bloatware was intact and my data works).
The phone can receive and send phone calls, messages etc. Just the data does not work.
Details are:
Android Version 4.3
Baseband Version l317MVLUCMK5
Kernel Version 3.0.31-2156641
[email protected]#1
Tue Nov 19 17:04:56 KST 2013
Build Number JSS15J.l317MVLUCMK5
Any help would be appreciated as I'm completely lost. I've tried wiping the data and repeating the Odin process with different md5 files but haven't had any luck with a different outcome.

AU KDDI Samsung Galaxy S III SCL-21 4.1.2 Update and Root

Hello. I just wanted to make a quick post for all of the Japanese AU Galaxy S3 owners out there. For those of you who rooted your phones before AU released the Jelly Bean update, you can still update your phone and regain root.
In order to perform the update I followed the guide written by droidgator at http://www.droidgator.com/update-galaxy-s3-sgh-scl21-android-412-kdbmk1-firmware/
However I did find a few discrepancies with his guide and made the following changes:
After Completing step 1 of the guide I then had to press the volume up bottom to get in to the download mode.
Step 2 refers to "an ID:COM box with a yellow color" mine was blue.
Step 3 was hazy and a lot of the information did not apply. Basically all I did was click on the PDA button and load up the md5 firmware file and disregarded the rest of the step.
Step 3: Says to ensure the Re-partition box is checked but since we are not using a PIT file I disregarded this and only checked the F. Reset Time and Auto Reboot.
After hitting start my phone restarted a couple of times and when all was said and done, my phone was updated and I didn't lose any of my information. My CWM recovery and superuser binaries did disappear though, as one would imagine, and after trying several universal 4.12 rooting methods finally had success with re-using the original root method that works for the original 4.0.1 firmware.
The root method I used was made for the firmware 4.0.1 but I was able to successfully root my 4.1.2 firmware using the same method.
The method can be seen at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DouktjBrS5w
I did not created the original tutorial that I used at droidgator nor did I make the youtube video or the root method and big thanks goes to them for helping me to get things done.
hi..
i just use scl21 for a few months. i lived in jakarta, indonesia. my scl21 worked with every sim card here. it just cant connect to 4g,because different frequency with 4g in indonesia.
i received my scl21 already installed android 4.1.2 but in options-about device, model number is sch-i535 with baseband version SCL21KDBND1 and Kernel version 3.0.31-1443107-user [email protected] #2 SMP PREEMPT Fri Nov 15 16:33:35 KST 2013. And it also have build number EC_I535VRBMF1_V1_3_3.
I try to factory reset the device, and it have standard apps like AdvanceS version 1.1 (by lidroid Mod ported by Wanam, visit bbs.lidroid.com) and HiAPNGlobal version 3.0.6 by Hidroid.Net
My devices worked well with local sim card, it can reach 3G or HSDPA. I just cant reach 4g.
i just wondering, why my device only read ram 1,56GB not 2GB and read rom only 25,69GB not 32GB.
Also, i install trepn profile, and when i check cpu usage monitor, its state that around 60%-70% cpu usage by sim toolkit (or sometime shown as IOTHiddenMenu).
Is that a bug in my device or something happend because of the verizon sch-i535 installed on scl21 device?
I have other samsung device, gt-s6310, also with 4.1.2 android version, installed trepn profiler, sim toolkit takes only small amount of cpu usage, around 1%-3% only!!
why those 2 device so different in sim toolkit usage cpu memory?
maybe the expert in this forum have the answer?

[Q] Trying to Downgrade to 4.1.2

Hello,
I'm trying to downgrade my Canadian Note 2 (SGH-i317M) from 4.3 back down to 4.1.2 but I'm having some issues.
First off, the Sammobile.com firmware site doesn't even have the file available anymore. I tried getting it for Virgin Mobile, but it says the file isn't found so I guess they deleted it off their servers. Since it should be exactly the same for any of the 3 carriers and their subsidiaries I tried flashing a Telus version and a Bell version but both failed to flash in Odin.
After the failed flash I get the yellow firmware failed text screen and it telling me to do an emergency recovery in Kies, which of course I can't do.
So, does anyone know why the flashing is failing?
Thanks

Looks like you have to do the battery pull/boot into recovery/factory reset steps described in the thread linked above.
I have the same problem. I have i317m though. I got 4.1.1 but can't get rid of the modified status, nor will it accept 4.1.2. Done that how to 5 times. Darn knoc had to mess up the fun.
Try installing 4.1.1 via odin

[Q] Questions about upgrading from CSC:NB4 to CSC:NF9

Hello
Back in March, I rooted my T-Mobile (USA) Note 3 'after' upgrading OTA to KitKat 4.4.2 - everything has worked great. Today, when I connected my phone to Kies3, I see that there is an available firmware update from:
PDA:NB4 / PHONE:NB4 / CSC:NB4 (TMB)
to
CSC:NF9 (TMB)
It is asking me if I want to upgrade in Kies 3. My question is, what happens if I say 'yes'? Also, I believe the Knox flag is tripped as I used the following procedure back in March:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2672393
What is the correct way to upgrade my phone?
Thanks in advance!
Update: So I went ahead and performed the upgrade to CSC:NF9 (TMB) using Kies3 via USB cable. It looks like the upgrade was successful and my phone did not brick during the process - however, it appears my phone is 'not' rooted now.
My question is, what is the correct procedure to root my phone which is on Android 4.4.2, build number KOT49H.N900TUVUDNF9?
Thanks!

[Q] Help...Note 2 all jacked up

Ok so it all started when I rooted my phone so that I could get Foxfi to work again on my unlimited data plan with AT&T. All was good for a while, and then phone started restart randomly. Most Recent the WIFI, and Bluetooth stopped working all together. I backed up all my data and tried to flash 4.3 firmware with odin using this file...KIES_HOME_I317UCAMA4_I317ATTAMA4_578342_REV04_user_low_ship.tar.md5
of course this bricked my phone i think??? and wondershare now recognizes my phone as GT-S5690.
i downloaded this, but unfortunately have no idea what to do with it. Does it open in Odin?? i will be happy to buy you a beer if you can help me bring this SGH-I317 back to life??
Heimdall Files
I317UCUBMJ4.7z (923.0 MB)
MD5: D15A11B0B9AB90FDD8E01F6CD4231A5C
SELinux and KNOX are present.
This doesn't really mean a lot, KNOX is an integrate MDM, something you can turn on/off.
The Note 3 is rooted with SELinux: Enforcing without any issues.
ro.build.selinux=1
ro.config.tima=1
tired again to download firmware from Sammobile, but every freaking site that has the download is full of malware, bloat, etc
if anyone can help it sure would be appreciated.

I Can Help you out... I think
I also have a Note 2 with AT&T.. so I have the same exact phone as you... and I also bricked my phone a couple of times (rookie mistakes in the past). I was told that the only way to bring it back is to Flash the Original Stock from from when it was introduced and slowly work your way forward to the current version of Android. I will give you the link that has all the instructions... Just follow it and hope that your battery has enough juice left:
Scroll down to Terpin32 and follow his instructions... I've used it twice and it does work

Right firmware for my S6?

Hi All,
I recently bought a second hand s6 model G920P (as it said in the settings)... after a few hours of using it i started to realise it randomly restarts itself (network and sim card was working perfectly)!
So i figured i would re-install/flash the latest ROM as i figured it is maybe a software problem.
So i downloaded the latest G920P firmware from region: SPR (this is the only one i can find?): G920PVPU3BOL1_G920PSPT3BOL1_G920PVPU3BOL1_HOME.tar and installed this. However this is quite an annoying software as it keeps asking me to activate even though network and data are working fine!
To further complicate things, i the back of my phone says that model is SM-G920F! But when i try to flash F firmware (such as BTU or H3G) then the flash fails.
Unfortunately i havent gotten very far:
1) My phone still keeps randomly rebooting
2) What firmware should i be trying to install onto it?
Can you help with above problems ?
thanks in advance :highfive:
Where did you get the firmware from? Sammobile? here's a mirror for the latest .tar for the Sprint variant SM-G920P https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24343351889231947
Flash that and you should be good to go if it is in fact a 920P.
