Spark Connection Issues - Sprint LG G2

I have been starting to have issues with my Spark Connection since a few days ago. It would cut off my LTE and put it in 3G mode barely connecting. I tried troubleshooting before I called Sprint. I upgraded PRL and Profile but still no dice. When I called Sprint, I spent over an hour on the phone trying to find an answer before they transferred me to Technical Support. Tech support told me to turn the phone off for a minute and then after turning it back on, upgrade the profile. I ended up doing that along with the PRL and it fixed it until today I started having issues again. I tried doing the same thing but am not having any luck, I have attempted this over 10x and still no dice, it barely connects to 3G now and I can't even talk to customer service because they are closed. I am using optimus 4.2.2 rom. Does anyone have any clue if this is my handset or Sprint's side?

Ive been having issues with this also. But im running ZVC 4.4.2 update

You got OTA Sprint 4.4 ZVC for Sprint? I have not received the update and have not heard of an official release date for this but I believe the OTA for Verizon has dropped :X
Edit: When I called again just now to Sprint Support, the lady I spoke with said the estimated time of fix is for tomorrow and a 3G Connectivity hold has been placed on all phones in the area while they upgrade the towers. When I asked if it was related to the new firmware update, the lady said it was unconfirmed as to when the firmware update would be releasing as it comes straight from LG and they have not announced anything. So ETA of the fix for ATX is tomorrow afternoon.

Oh dang, i wonder if it is the same issue for me

You can force check for the zvc update. I did that after 3 tries it finally forced the ota. Or autoprime posted the zvc tot for the lgtool flash tool to update manually. Very easy and fast to use.

Gingerbread ek02 release date.

I just got of the phone with Sprint...yeah trying to get some credit on my account for LOS lol. And the lady just let me know that the EK02 update this will fix the LOS issue with the Epic Touch 4G will be pushed out starting Dec 7th through Dec 14th.
This update is also supposed to fix any 4G problems people have been having.
Just a heads up.
wouldn't be the worst thing if it was true and recently the call from the VP thread that such threads have happened.

If not there will be a few unhappy around here screaming.
OTA is being pushed, Sprint says about 10 days for 100% of phones to be updated. I got mine yesterday so that gives me time to switch phones if in 14 days I'm not happy with this signal stuff.
Hey since you got the update from sprint can you please pull it and post it to the community?

New update made my phone worse
I rooted my phone and I have the latest update but I am stuck at the 5ghz wifi band. What if I only had 2.4 ghz and didn't know the difference; I would be freaking out. The selection between auto, 2.4, and 5 ghz is missing and 5 ghz is not supported everywhere. Sprint should double up on an update or their networks will be in high use.
---------- Post added at 12:44 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:12 AM ----------
One thing I forgot to ask. When Sprint release the update to fix the wifi can I get it and use it since my device is rooted? And will my phone stay rooted if I do an official update by an official method?

Sept 11 new leak from Bell Canadian Carriers release OTA Update

Modem version i747MVLLH1
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&model=SGH-I747M&pcode=BMC&os=1&type=1#firmware
Quoted from Mobile Syrup
"Samsung Galaxy S III (SGH-i747M) users today will be able to download an update over the air (OTA) that brings “improved stability”, bug fixes, better battery life and you can now adjust the screen brightness from the drop down menu. It’s still at OS 4.0.4 — no Jelly Bean yet — but we’re getting various tips that the Bell update is 100.27MB, while Rogers is 86.08MB. TELUS customers have also been pushed the update, no word yet on all the carriers who have the SGIII in their lineup."
The update should be waiting for you. If not, check Settings >> About Device >> Software Update.

I'm with bell and the update was 86mb.
Nice to see they didn't bother to fix the standby battery usage issue. Then again, with how much power I seem to save when I'm in service area, I wonder sometimes if its really a misread at all
My update was around a 100MB. I noticed some changed settings in the camera app, the messenger moved the attachement icon to the side instead of underneath the send button, I noticed some setting changes in the settings (or maybe I didn't notice them)

Same thing happened to me yesterday. I'm still waiting. WTF?
I had to get my update via Kies, nothing came OTA.
Not a major issue on that, although after the update was pushed, my SD card was corrupted and had to be reformatted.
So make sure you either unmount or physically remove any external SD card, I lost all my photos :\
OTA update was waiting for my sasktel phone this morning when I woke up. My phone is rooted, so I was a little cautious to perform the update, but after reading around, it just breaks root.
Did the update at work, re-rooted, and away we go.
Only problem I've noticed thus far is that it broke the auto-detect of the headphone jack on my phone, which if I went and installed my PowerAmp, would be nothing at all.
Otherwise, phone seems snappier. I'll give it a full day tomorrow with my usual routine, to see how well it performs battery wise.
OTA upgrade Crashes my Email
I upgraded yesterday, on Bell
Since then, my exchange email crashes constantly, and now my touch wiz has started to randomly crash.
I reinstalled email, and still random crashing................not sure why
Anyone with ideas ?
thanks for your help !

First, try booting into recovery, wiping both dalvik and system cache and rebooting. If this does not resolve the issue, backup device, perform factory reset and restore device.

System Update Available? JB?

Just got a system update pushed to my phone. I'm rooted so I did NOT accept. News online says that 40 minutes ago international galaxy s3 started receiving JB so.... Anyone know what it is? Could this be JB?

I'm getting nagged to install this update too. I wish we had an option to ignore updates. It downloaded it and wants to restart but I'm rooted and don't want to risk messing anything up. I haven't had time to look into CM10 or Jellybro ROMS. Any word on if this Sprint update can be safely installed or will it brick and/or unroot?
if i update, will this break root? i'm turning my phone into best buy tomorrow because i have a cracked screen. i need to get it back to stock anyway and figured this is an easy way to do it, im running the latest jellybomb. as long as it doesnt brick it, i'll try it and report back
You can unroot the phone using odin. There is a great video by qbking on YouTube that has links to everything you need to root or unroot the phones. Also I don't believe by just downloading and installing update that you can return to stock. Usually the phone will deny access to the update and then stop asking for you to update.

Everyone was hoping for Jelly Bean lol. That was such a let down when I saw it was still ICS. Just gotta wait a little while longer for Jelly Bean. Sprint likes to take their time, hopefully we'll have a 100% working port soon, though!

New Update

I am already on KK 4.4.2, but this morning I woke up and looked at my phone and the screen was on with a system message that the "Updated was completed successfully". However, there was no other info on what update was applied. Anyone else just get some kind of update? Not sure if it was firmware, or just some software update. It certainly didn't affect the KK version as that is all still listed as being the same.

No it wasn't an app update. It was a system message popup like you get when a service force closes or a new OS update is ready to be installed.
Profile update maybe? Sprint RDF site is still at ZVC so I doubt it was a firmware update. I mean I could be wrong and it could be a limited test and you could have been a lucky winner.

That's possible. I can't seem to find what was updated so maybe it was just some profile update or something similar, Maybe some updates to Sprint services they pushed out. Not sure at this point. Typically I only get the system update pop up when it's something like a firmware/profile/etc type of update. Normal app updates just show up in the status bar and don't give me a system pop up.
I just wish I knew what it was for.

In one of the threads in the Sprint Forums.
Normally reps beat around the Bush, but in one of the threads complaining signal quality, a rep said May 31.
I'm guessing it's for the 3G/4G switching issues, and there was no mention of Knock Code though.
Yeah, um... never ... and I mean ever.... listen to service reps... lol.
There are numerous bugs since 4.4.2 released. Bluetooth reporting battery drain when off, LG backup is buggy, auto brightness still crappy, and.some other things.
The 3g/4g switching issues are network related. You can get all the updates in the world and until the network updates are finished its just something we have to live with. They could certainly disable band 26 and 41 on phones that dont have it in their area yet but we can do that ourselves so sprint wont bother.
