I just got of the phone with Sprint...yeah trying to get some credit on my account for LOS lol. And the lady just let me know that the EK02 update this will fix the LOS issue with the Epic Touch 4G will be pushed out starting Dec 7th through Dec 14th.
This update is also supposed to fix any 4G problems people have been having.
Just a heads up.
wouldn't be the worst thing if it was true and recently the call from the VP thread that such threads have happened.

Hopefully tar follows soon.
If not there will be a few unhappy around here screaming.
OTA is being pushed, Sprint says about 10 days for 100% of phones to be updated. I got mine yesterday so that gives me time to switch phones if in 14 days I'm not happy with this signal stuff.
Hey since you got the update from sprint can you please pull it and post it to the community?

i dont think it will really be out until the last day they said it would the 24th of 2023....
i would not trust the current leaked ec05 as their as odin and rooting involved which will void your warranty. and att atleast can tell if you are rooted.
See above. I already have it. Though I suppose its possible that they have pulled it again.
Not sure if this was already posted, at least I didn't see it. Anyway, if it was, my apologies. Just wanted to pass along.
According to the Sprint website
12/15 update - for those devices where the update has started but did not complete successfully, there will be a fix available soon. The target is next week, but nothing 'official yet'. I don't have information on whether it will be a new OTA push or available only via the Service Centers, but will post an update as soon as I learn more.
It seems like there were more than a few issues on the whole EG30/31 thing so they need to do it again, lol. I'm just wondering if now they will take the opportunity to just combine it with the EL13 update.
What?!?!? A Samsung update that just causes more issues? Nooooo....

I was wondering the same. Maybe a OTA that has CIQ stripped out. Sprint is obviously trying to save face right now. They are trying to keep us at bay. Look what happened once we started bombing everyone with CIQ info.

I wouldn't be surprised of Sprint isn't removing CIQ software.

I've been seeing FH leaks and just received OTA FH13. Didn't update since I don't want to lose root.
I'm curious how is sprint pushing FH13 since I see leak even of coming soon FH28?
So, does this mean after testing different FH builds, sprint figured FH13 is best?
Screen shot.
Fh13 is just means the date it was made. So fh28 would be august 28th a newer build that isn't released yet. Also you could have gotten the update anytime through kies on a computer.

No. Thats just a quick fix build to the public I believe. FH23 is better and I presume FH28 will be better.

No leaks are available here on the development section. Not every leak is released officially by Samsung and pushed as an OTA. We'll only get FH28 if someone with connections leaks it, or if Samsung decides to make it official they'll release it as well but through kies and pushed through phone. Just remember F=2012 H=August 28=Date. Newer the better, usually. Sorry it's 430am, hope I'm clear. Haha

You sure FH23 is better than FH13? Sounds like people are having issues with it. Or maybe you meant when/if it's official it will be better.
I had issues with the fh13 leak but the update through kies worked fine. That's why these are leaks they might be getting worked on still.

I believe we found this was a problem in the build that he tried. Should be OK now, rooted or not.
So was their solution to the battery issue to simply jack the brightness way down? Because it feels like my screen is notably darker than it was previously (was using auto-brightness.)
My phone lives in a dock most of the day so I probably won't be able to notice any battery life changes as much as other people.
You might as well update using the links in this thread.

A few people now have reported buying brand new GS3s from AT&T and them coming with this build so this is not some leak or internal build. Worst case they will have an OTA from LI5 to whatever future build there is.
And no sadly this isn't Jellybean.

I doubt that given phones in stores have it and Samsung put it on a phone that was sent to them for repair. I think we'll get UCLI5 and then some UCLJ build that's Jellybean. Let's see who's right.

This should have been in the JB rumor post.
I don't trust customer service reps when it comes to receiving accurate update information. Just for the hell of it, I chatted with a rep regarding the status of this rumored update. The chat transcript is below. And yes, this should have definitely been posted in the JB rumor thread.
Please wait for a chat representative to respond.
You are now chatting with 'Jennifer Cook'
Jennifer Cook: Hello and welcome! Thank you for using AT&T Wireless Online Support Chat for Technical Support!
kgbkny: Good morning
kgbkny: Would you be able to tell me if there is any validity to the reports of AT&T releasing the Jellybean (Android 4.1) update for the Samsung Galaxy S3 this week?
Jennifer Cook: The last software that was released for the Galaxy SIII was 09/18/2012 and 07/12/2012. We do not have the information as of yet, about the release date of the Jellybean software for that phone.
Jennifer Cook: When it is available for your phone, you will receive an alert on the phone.
kgbkny: Thank you. That's all I needed to know.

Unless its released in December, it won't be LJ anything. Those are date codes from the build of the software. UCLJ would be an October build. UCLI is a September build (L is the 12th letter, for 2012, I is the 9th letter for the 9th month September and the letter after it is the date of the month it was built. UCLI5 was built Sept 5th 2012.
I am already on KK 4.4.2, but this morning I woke up and looked at my phone and the screen was on with a system message that the "Updated was completed successfully". However, there was no other info on what update was applied. Anyone else just get some kind of update? Not sure if it was firmware, or just some software update. It certainly didn't affect the KK version as that is all still listed as being the same.

No it wasn't an app update. It was a system message popup like you get when a service force closes or a new OS update is ready to be installed.
Profile update maybe? Sprint RDF site is still at ZVC so I doubt it was a firmware update. I mean I could be wrong and it could be a limited test and you could have been a lucky winner.

That's possible. I can't seem to find what was updated so maybe it was just some profile update or something similar, Maybe some updates to Sprint services they pushed out. Not sure at this point. Typically I only get the system update pop up when it's something like a firmware/profile/etc type of update. Normal app updates just show up in the status bar and don't give me a system pop up.
I just wish I knew what it was for.

In one of the threads in the Sprint Forums.
Normally reps beat around the Bush, but in one of the threads complaining signal quality, a rep said May 31.
I'm guessing it's for the 3G/4G switching issues, and there was no mention of Knock Code though.
Yeah, um... never ... and I mean ever.... listen to service reps... lol.
There are numerous bugs since 4.4.2 released. Bluetooth reporting battery drain when off, LG backup is buggy, auto brightness still crappy, and.some other things.
The 3g/4g switching issues are network related. You can get all the updates in the world and until the network updates are finished its just something we have to live with. They could certainly disable band 26 and 41 on phones that dont have it in their area yet but we can do that ourselves so sprint wont bother.
