Hey guys , I need help on how to unbrick my Xperia M C1905 , I have tried to do the tutorial on How to get all apps in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2555669 so in general i swapped the build.prop file in system , when i did that it all worked fine and after couple of hours I decided to change it back to the stock one. Now when I try to turn my phone on the Sony logo appears , and after that there is a blank screen , u can see that the background light is still working and the only thing how to turn it off is to take the battery out. I tried to use Sony PC Companion to repair my phone but it says that there is no software available on my phone. Please can you find an easy way to fix it since I am not best at these things.
You can flash a stock ftf by using flashtool....here is the latest 4.3 ftf....

Can you get a fastboot shell? You will need to have it installed (its part of the android SDK)
Shutdown your phone, hold back and plugin the USB cable.
Light should change color and you should be able to use fastboot to query your phone (getvar version is the best simple test)
From here, flashtool will be able to communicate with your phone and you should be able to flash kernels, etc.
thanks for infomation

if yes than ehat are disadvantages?
i want to flash my phone with sony xperia z stock firmware..
is it possible???
Do yo like that kill ur XM?
It's impossible...:sly:
Yeah u can flash Xperia M Dual c2005 frimware on to ur Xperia M Single and flashing the frimware will get u android 4.2.2 + u don't need to be rooted or have a unlocked bootloader check this thread for more info
The only other firmware you can flash is the Xperia m duel firmware, you go to do any other Xperia firmware you will brick the device possibly to the point of it just being a paperweight so no you can't flash just any other firmware
Also please post questions in the correct section not in general!

Hi friends, this is my first post so i hope it helps
I have a XPlay r800at with locked bootloader, and as many of you i wanted to flash a custom ROM
The first problem, i tried to find a free way to unlocking its bootloader, guess what. there is not a free way.(if you can/already paid for it, this post is not for you)
2nd) i found cooked rom's that can be flashed even with a locked bootloader :good: BUT it seem to work just fine with R800i, R800a....
3rd) But, can i flash a r800a or r800i rom and then flash a cooked rom...
The first thing can be done BUT the second no, why? because my phone is a r800at so this stock roms wont work at 100%
4) When i flashed those roms (i tried about 12 stock rom's ) something end up not working, like Wifi or Camera...so i tried to solve this "little" things in order to finally customize my r800at BUT....there is no solution for it since it is a Locked Bootloader meaning NO kernel Flashing meaning NO stock/modified wifi modules.... :crying:
5) 6) 7) more blablabla (customized systeui.apk, flashing, signing, decompling, downloading testing...... time and frustration)
8) finally i found a solution and here it is.
So if you want to flash a custom rom like "gin2KitKat"(thats the one i originally wanted to flash) here's a way that worked for my r800at
You will need a rom called "R800i_4.0.1.A.0.283_(1247-6212).ftf"
Flashtool
Once you flash it with flash tools, you can follow the custom rom's instruction for "Locked Bootloader"....(root,CWM, wipe....)
i hope this help you and save you some time(despite my long story about how i get this rom working at 100% :silly: )
btw, "gin2kitkat" is a vokal1992's project

It's called s1 tool here's a link to the guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1730874

Ya that's not really a big problem but you won't be able to flash .img you will have to flash special .ftf made by LOOPEY on this forum there are only a handful of Roms and kernels such as lupus and doomkernel. You can unlock when unlock says no but you will ONLY be able to flash the Tom's made in. Ftf as you will not be able to enter fastboot. I'll see if I can find the Rom thread in case you still want to do it.

Not yet there isn't, people with locked bootloaders (like me and a lot of other people) are continuously looking for a way to root without unlocking the bootloader. I think there's a CWM being developed for locked bootloaders (I'm not too sure on this though).

Don't think it's possible to use it on locked bootloader
My drivers were messed up after updating.. I'm still trying to fix that. None of the root methods even recognise the phone now. All I did was update ... but PCC sees the phone just fine. I tried installing the drivers in the latest flashtool. If I can't fix the drivers, no root is possible for me.

its the kernel that is the problem, rooting would not effect bootloaders if the ftf had stock kernel and was signed. if i had a computer id do it but sorry i cant :/

Right. The kernel is the problem but there is no way to make a flashable and modified ftf file.
The way cold be developing a cwm for locked bootloaders and then flash a prerooted rom in zip format or a stock rom and then a rooting patch.

Sounds good, but I have a question. How are you going to install the recovery in the first place? Couldn't you just use this method to inject the su binary?

I think CWM is not necessary. Any way to copy all 4.3 system files with su binares (to partition /system with transfer all permissions) should works, then flash 4.3 kernel. But it should be done before Android core will start (otherwise Android will crash before you copy all files), maybe add in init.d or any other boot file, script which copy all 4.3 files with all privileges...
I don't have this phone now so i can't test it.
Any methods found to root phones which have locked bootloader? This is really sad
Only way to gain root without voiding warranty is to go back to stock 4.1.2,then take backup of ta partition , unlock the bootloader, and flash 4.3 ftf..
Else if we unlock the bootloader on 4.3,we can't relock it again as we can't take backup of ta partition
Anyone working on it?

Even I did have the same doubt, how we going to install the cwm? By flashing a stock 4.3 kernel which have cwm?
