device keeps disconnecting and rebooting while trying to use flashtool - Sony Xperia ZL

Hi, im on the latest .101 FW and im trying to downgrade to .67 so i can root and install a new custom rom. Ive installed a custom ROM before on this phone following the rooting procedure by this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2458268, but now every time i connect to flashtool64, it says device connected in flash mode, but disconnects after a minute or so. What am i doing wrong? I've got USB debugging and unknown sources on.
Thanks, sid.

actually your have to first select the rom in flash tool then "wait" for tool to prepare files then the tool will prompt then connect your phone

My ZL has been acting weird lately, powering off on its own, and requiring a power source to boot back up.
I tried connecting to flashtool last night, and it works, but the green led that supposed to light up, just quickly blinks on then off, and stays off.
Yet flashtool is still telling me my device is connected in flashmode..... weird.
I was too scared to try and flash an FTF because i have a feeling the phone will just randomly power off.

My LED does the same, just blinks on and off when connecting to flashtool.
When I connect in flashmode and wait for a minute or so, the phone boots automatically.
But it always behaved like this since I bought the phone .
Flashing works like it should and it always worked. I think it's normal.

okay, ive got another problem. Im trying to unlock my bootloader via flashtool, and after connecting my phone with the volume down button pressed, it does nothing, just asks me to re connect my phone. Any idea whats wrong?

Xperia S Fastboot problem

So I was about to root my Xperia S and started reading a guide, it said that I would need to load some files into the phone using fastboot. After a while I figured out how to fastboot and managed to get the popup on my computer once, however, I didn't install it that time and now when I try to fastboot again I get the blue LED on my phone, my computer makes some noises indicating that something unusual have been conected, nothing happens and the phone shows the Sony logo.
Does anybody know how to fix the problem and get the popup on the computer to re apear.
I run a 64 bit windows 7 home premium.
Thanks.

So for Unlocking Bootloader You have to use fastboot mode.. ok
and after that, for rooting it should be done using flashtool in fastboot mode..
so here is the thing.. Download The Flashtool first And After extracting the files You'll Find a Folder Named Drivers.. first Install The Fastboot Drivers Even To Unlock The Bootloader..

Hi,
I can't connect my phone in flashmode nor in fastboot mode. Whenever i connect it in flashmode/fastboot mode my PC stucks(hangs) and i have to restart it again i have installed all the drivers for all devices but still the problem exists. Any help in this regards???
Also to mention i'm using Windows XP SP3 and flashtool version is 0.9.1.0.
I have also one more issue when i connect my phone to the charger when it is switched off the phone does not charge at all it simply shows me the sony logo and keeps showing it again and again but never charges. In short when my battery is complete i cannot get it back to life due to this problem but thank god that i have installed CWM on my phone.

Hello I have an Xperia S, with bootloader locked and recently installed a ROOM in order to get the 6.A.1.2.55 with root.
Installed from a ZIP from recovery mode following this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2009672
Now when I try to do step 7 (flash kernel and Baseband) Using Flashtool, Im unable to enter to the mode; when the windows prompts me, I turn off the phone, press and hold Vol up connect the USB but nothing happens, only the Sony Logo and then the icon of charging battery, I also tried to turn off the phone while holding Power button + Vol up (at the same time) and get the 3 vibrations, but the same result when I connect, the logo and the charging animations/icon..( no LED of any color or anything)
Im using the latest Flashtool version (0.9.9.0) with the drivers intalled (even though Windows security constantly pestered me about not being able to identify the source and signture) on Windows 7 64 bits..
Thank you..

Have you pressed the menu key while connecting phone to computer?
bricked phone have to be OFF(remove battery and put back if necesaary if it's stuck at sony screen), prepare flashtool ftf and follow onscreen instruction and the flashtool will revive the phone.
Or maybe you could show the error msg from flashtool.
you are really bold in trying the untested bootunlocker, this definitely is a hard brick. hope you get out of this one.

Sorry if we repeat the same thing, but it must work like this: you hve the phone off and unplugged. You open flashtool, select the flash icon (flashtool), select the FW, and it tell u to plug the device to pc while holdin back button.
Sure u hold the the backbutton while pluggin in? and after have selected the FW ?
You've to select the firmware first before plugging it in.

LT18i
Locked Bootloader
Root access
Had CMW via Xtools, so when I replaced the rom that disapeared!
The problem is that I've forgot to run the 2nd part - device optimization, and now the touchscreen simply doesn't work...
Can't do nothing - USB Debugging is on by default (never forget that I can't touch the phone)
Can't upload another rom via flashtool, the only thing I'm able to do is change the kernel with the 1_lt18i_4.1.B.0.431_kernelDowngrade
If I try to put the uptodate kernel, flashtool stops on "Reading Device Information"
Already try to restore it with Pc companion, but no luck
USB device is detecting LT15 on windows!
This is a total mess, I'm lost, and I've googled and tryed dozens of things all day long.. I'm tyred, exhausted, and my 2 day old ARC S is bricked!!
Can someone point me a way out??
Remember:
- USB debbug of (have no access to activate it)
- CMW disapeared when installed this rom, so have no recovery menu
- Bootloader is locked
- Can't flash rom via flashtool
I'm devastated!!
Thanks in advance,
Ricardo

First charge your phone for a while, then download flashtool and sony xperia s official firmware.
As your phone is switched off, press and hold volume down button and connect it to the pc, green led will turn on,then flash your phone with flashtool.

Z1C won't stay in flashmode

Ok so I've been trying to get flashtool to work with my xperia z1c but I can't get the phone to stay in flashmode. The green led lights briefly and flashtool detects a device in flashmode but after a short time it just drops out of flashmode and boots normally. I originally blamed windows 8.1 but have tried 2 windows 7 machines with the same results. Have tried the Sony z1c drivers package and the latest flashtool drivers - same result. I've searched on Google and found people with the same problem on different xperia devices but has anyone else had the same problem with their z1c? if so has anyone solved it?
Sent from my D5503 using xda app-developers app
So what is the problem? If the phone does not stay long enough in flashmode, try this:
Open flashtool
Click flash, and set up everything (firmware, wipe, etc.)
Now click on flash
After 30 seconds plug in your phone in flashmode.

Happened to me too. I just flashed it before it rebooted, once it starts flashing it wont reboot it'll finish the process. So no worries everything worked out fine.
Thanks for the responses. I'd previously tried to flash an ftf by putting the phone into flashmode first then pressing flash and it always rebooted before the files were prepared so assumed there was something wrong. If you prepare the files first then put the phone into flashmode then all is okay. Thanks again.

Plz test can you get in flash mode(bootloader mode)..... press and hold the vol down key for a few seconds then connect the usb cable now(For the first time, windows will say installing flash drive driver). Then run flashtool and see if you can flash .ftf firmware, it can also wipe the TA. Make sure you installed PCC or Xperia driver set, and quit PCC before you run flashtool.
Just to clearify:
What exactly did you do with your phone?
Does "stuff" mean you tried to root it?
Which tool did you use? Easy Root Tool?
I can't really see what could go wrong there which could cause a brick...

I couldn't get it to boot in flash mode. Any button combination I try results in nothing more than a red blinking light.

Used easy root tool. His phone rooted fine and works. The problem is I restored back to stock on my phone and there's a chance I used his TA by accident. Everything was fine until I rebooted the phone and nothing happened. When unplugged, nothing will happen no matter what. When plugged in, the light blinks and that's it.
