First charge your phone for a while, then download flashtool and sony xperia s official firmware.
As your phone is switched off, press and hold volume down button and connect it to the pc, green led will turn on,then flash your phone with flashtool.
I always use this method when i brick my xperia s.

Try installing PC Companion or/and Sony update service and maybe you could use one of them to recover and install stock rom again
Or if you can't install it using PCC or sus, try flashtool again, because the two sony programs will install drivers , too

I have exactly the same problem with 2 of my xperia S'es. I really want to fix this issue, because it's beginning to be expensive to buy one after the other. Always going into this without really knowing why.
Neither PC Companion, Sony Update Service, or Emma work to recover....

For now i'm following this tutorial : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2049813& :good:

If that doesnt work open PC companion it should ask u to repair it if u follow istructions.

:\ strange. if u try to turn it on what happens? and try with pc comapnion to open it an look for "repair" or "solve problems" cant really remember (with phone unplugged) then it will tell u what to do
Have you pressed the menu key while connecting phone to computer?
bricked phone have to be OFF(remove battery and put back if necesaary if it's stuck at sony screen), prepare flashtool ftf and follow onscreen instruction and the flashtool will revive the phone.
Or maybe you could show the error msg from flashtool.
you are really bold in trying the untested bootunlocker, this definitely is a hard brick. hope you get out of this one.

Sorry for asking again: You started FlashTool (v0.9.8.0), clicked on the flash icon, selected "FlashMode", chose a firmware for your Arc S, activated "No final verification", clicked "OK", pressed the back button on the switched off phone WHILE plugging in the USB-Cable? Sorry if we repeat the same thing, but it must work like this: you hve the phone off and unplugged. You open flashtool, select the flash icon (flashtool), select the FW, and it tell u to plug the device to pc while holdin back button.
Sure u hold the the backbutton while pluggin in? and after have selected the FW ?
You've to select the firmware first before plugging it in.

Yeap. Is that I don't know how to restore my .TA file. I know what I changed but ... how????
Help me please??
LT18i
Locked Bootloader
Root access
Had CMW via Xtools, so when I replaced the rom that disapeared!
The problem is that I've forgot to run the 2nd part - device optimization, and now the touchscreen simply doesn't work...
Can't do nothing - USB Debugging is on by default (never forget that I can't touch the phone)
Can't upload another rom via flashtool, the only thing I'm able to do is change the kernel with the 1_lt18i_4.1.B.0.431_kernelDowngrade
If I try to put the uptodate kernel, flashtool stops on "Reading Device Information"
Already try to restore it with Pc companion, but no luck
USB device is detecting LT15 on windows!
This is a total mess, I'm lost, and I've googled and tryed dozens of things all day long.. I'm tyred, exhausted, and my 2 day old ARC S is bricked!!
Can someone point me a way out??
Remember:
- USB debbug of (have no access to activate it)
- CMW disapeared when installed this rom, so have no recovery menu
- Bootloader is locked
- Can't flash rom via flashtool
I'm devastated!!
Thanks in advance,
Ricardo

[Q] How to unbrick Arc S LT18i no leds

I've been searching tutorials from start to finish and can't find solution to my problem.
I have a Arc S from a friend that's bricked it gets stuck on sony ericcson logo.
Tried PC Companion not detected
Tried Update Service not detected
Tried Flashtool it detects phone as connected but without developer mode

18/005/2012 14:05:49 - INFO - For 2011 devices line, be sure you are not in MTP mode
I hold back key, no green led
I hold menu key, no blue led
Doesn't enter fastboot mode or flashmode.
Anyone knows how can i recover it? I don't know if it's unlocked bootloader or custom firmware or anything.
I think it maybe a kernel problem but didn't find tutorial to flash it without flashtool.
Regards,

From what i've been told it died overnight during an OTA update.
The only too ways the computer detects it is by getting stuck on sony logo and flashtool detecting it as usb debug disabled or by doing the testpoint and computer detecting it as a Zeus Flash Device.
All the other ways, holding buttons etc's always gets me to the stuck logo no leds no nothing.

Is there any tool that can flash a device in Zeus Flash mode?
If you can't get the Phone in flashmode as you've already stated then you need a service centre. The only other alternative is to contact Alejandrissimo or Jinx13 who have SETool and will try and help remotely.

So were you just doing a standard OTA update and then you ran out of battery?
If you want, you could try Sony's new EMMA software for returning devices with unlocked bootloaders back to stock.
Did you unbricked you phone? I have the same problem after a wipe data from clocworkmod and i am unable to go in flashmode or recovery. Fashtool detect my device but just like your with debug off...

Dear bjchettri
I do appreciate all your efforts
I have to explain the situation just to make things more clear because it looks like you misunderstand me
when I connect my phone (in all modes "Bootloader, Fastboot, normal, recovery..etc) nothing happens on my pc
even in device manager (i'm using Microsoft windows) the system doesn't show any item for a new attached device or an item for an defined attached driver (which used to appear all modes)
the flashtool needs the system to find an attached device to communicate with (usually the attached device name looks like "android phone", SE android or something this (depends on ur phone brand, model)
now since my system doesn't find any device when I connect my mobile then the flashtool won't be able to communicate with my device (even if i tried to boot my device in all modes "bootloader, fastboot, normal, recovery) by holding specific buttons (menu or volumn down or back buttons)
and if you read my question you will see that i was asking if anyone knows any way to connect my phone using testpoints or something like this because i though maybe I can let my pc to recognize my phone using the testpoints method.
I'm not sure but if i could make my phone recognized by the pc then i will have like 10 ways to find the problem and fix it.
Hi yazanallahham

Lets just analyze your problem:
You launched flashtool and started a flash session. And then a window appeared in flashtool saying that you have to connect your phone in flashmode. You pressed Volume+ and connected your phone.
I want to know what happened next,
Did the window telling you to connect the device in flashmode close down automatically?
Was a pop-pup shown in your pc telling you to choose your phone model?
If these didnt happen, what else did?
I can help you certainly if you can answer these questions.
How do i unbrick my phone? I can't take it to center because i have rooted and unlocked bootloader.

Z1C won't stay in flashmode

Ok so I've been trying to get flashtool to work with my xperia z1c but I can't get the phone to stay in flashmode. The green led lights briefly and flashtool detects a device in flashmode but after a short time it just drops out of flashmode and boots normally. I originally blamed windows 8.1 but have tried 2 windows 7 machines with the same results. Have tried the Sony z1c drivers package and the latest flashtool drivers - same result. I've searched on Google and found people with the same problem on different xperia devices but has anyone else had the same problem with their z1c? if so has anyone solved it?

So what is the problem? If the phone does not stay long enough in flashmode, try this:
Open flashtool
Click flash, and set up everything (firmware, wipe, etc.)
Now click on flash
After 30 seconds plug in your phone in flashmode.

Happened to me too. I just flashed it before it rebooted, once it starts flashing it wont reboot it'll finish the process. So no worries everything worked out fine.
Thanks for the responses. I'd previously tried to flash an ftf by putting the phone into flashmode first then pressing flash and it always rebooted before the files were prepared so assumed there was something wrong. If you prepare the files first then put the phone into flashmode then all is okay. Thanks again.

I'd previously tried to flash an ftf by putting the phone into flashmode first then pressing flash and it always rebooted before the files were prepared so assumed there was something wrong. If you prepare the files first then put the phone into flashmode then all is okay. Thanks again.

how do you boot into flashmode?
the right way is: turn off your device, open flashtools, choose flashmode, choose your ftf you want to flash and wait until finished,
push Vol- and hold it, then plug your device via usb to the computer, then flashtool does its job...
